“Away from it all” Another lovely holiday at Brimble Cottage and a very warm welcome from Norman and Venetia. It's an excellent centre for exploring Dartmoor and the cottage is warm, comfortable and well equipped.
“Excellent location and comfortable house” We had our original TripAdvisor booking cancelled two weeks prior to our departure for London so we were lucky to have found this lovely house. It is very close to the Gloucester Road tube station, which is on the District / Circle and Picadilly lines, opening up most of the centre of London to tourists. We also made great use of the house's proximity to the Natural History and Science Museums - both of which are free, Kensington Gardens with the Diana Memorial Playground and also the choice of shops, cafés and restaurants around the tube station. The house itself was very comfortable and our 8 year old son was happy to relax on the massive sofa in front of the massive TV after a long day's sightseeing. There were a couple of things about the bathrooms that could be easily fixed - such as the door not closing properly and the toilet seat needing secured, but these are very minor things in what was a comfortable house. The owners were pleasant and easy to contact and kept us well informed about a problem with the cleaning of the house before our arrival. All in all, I would happily return to this house and would recommend it to others.
“Well presented holiday cottage which lived up to expectations” Rented kipper cottage to take my very elderley disabled parents on holiday. The cottage was well equipped and comfortable and to quote my parents if needs be we don't have to go out as there is plenty to see just sitting in the sitting room looking out at the creek. Local amenities were good to keep us supplied with life's neccessities such as food and wine. Local doctor on hand which was great as my dad was ill during the last couple of days and although i didn't contact the doctor it was good to know one was available. The only downside was i was unable to take dad down to the summer house as it is too steep to get him back, but i loved it down there. All being well we hope to make a return visit in 2013.

“Very spacious, good quality accommodation in Torver” This was our 17th stay at Ash Gill cottage, which says it all really! Super location with the Wilson Arms pub for food & refreshment nearby and lots of lovely walks from the house, including the Old Man of Coniston and Coniston Lake. The house is really well equipped with super furniture & furnishings. A luxury family bathroom plus ensuite & downstairs loo makes it easy for 6 people to stay very comfortably. We always have a great time!

“Clean, friendly, wonderful views, perfect place to stay.” What a wonderful place to stay. The owner was there to greet us with a friendly welcome. Beautiful fresh locally baked bread, butter, milk, biscuits etc. were all left out for our arrival, a very nice surprise. The rooms were clean spacious and well furnished. We would definitely recommend a stay here.
“Quiet, Elegant, Relaxing experience in the countryside” The flat is so nicely decorated, clean and full of anything you might need. The landlady is kind and always smiling. We have enjoyed her discreet presence. There's a big Waitrose nearby and lots of restaurants. Ideal location for excursions and for just peace and relax in a marvellous countryside. Edenbridge is near and other villages. A place we'll come back again.

“Little Gem” We had previously stayed in the cottage next door, Brimble Cottage, and when it was booked for the dates we wanted we booked this smaller but way cosier cottage next door. The children loved it in the room on the top floor and loved watching Daddy make the fire one evening! Venita and Norman are a lovely couple, welcoming and helpful when needed. We love the fact that at the top of the road you have the moors and there are beautiful beaches and interesting places to visit all within reasonable driving distances. The trip from Starcross to Exmouth on the ferry was one of the favourite trips this time. We are happily exhausted at the end of our stay. We would stay in either cottage again! Thank you Venita and Norman!

Dear Nicky, Thank you for this review; it was a pleasure to meet you and the family, and we hope to see you again.
“Great Accommodatioin in a beautiful spot” Don't be fooled by the photo's on the website as it really doesn't do the accommodation justice and this cottage is delightful!!
The accommodation is really good quality with all the facilities you would need at a fantastic price. The location is a little off the beaten track - but thats why we booked it and it didn't disappoint. There is easy access to the walking in Shropshire and southern snowdonia if you want to venture that far and we also walked a bit of the canal at Welshpool it also has easy access to the facilities in Shrewsbury. (Once you orientate yourself a bit)
We were made to feel really welcome by Maria and Ian (and so were our dogs - who got on fine with their dogs!)
This is an ideal place to escape from it all.
We would also stroingly recommend trying the duck eggs available in the honesty box as well as the victoria plums which are good eating and make great jam!!
We are planning to go back and visit again soon!
“The location first class, apartment first class with beautiful sea views.” This apartment has it all,a parking space so no need to use the car to go to the beach it is just over the road so no car park fees. The apartment is very light , clean and has all you need for a relaxing holiday. It is situated on the third floor has a lift and a balcony with stunning views. Brian the owner was very helpful and even left a pair of binoculars for us to use which came in very handy watching the windsurfers and small boats etc. There is a Co-op 2 mins walk away and a couple of takeaways.Southbourne shops are less than 5mins by car with a car park at the top end of the shops.Bistro on beach is nice for meals snacks and ice creams. We were sorry we had to go home the weather was good to us which was a bonus.Such a good time was had by all we are booked for next year.Thankyou Brian.
