“Well presented holiday cottage which lived up to expectations” Rented kipper cottage to take my very elderley disabled parents on holiday. The cottage was well equipped and comfortable and to quote my parents if needs be we don't have to go out as there is plenty to see just sitting in the sitting room looking out at the creek. Local amenities were good to keep us supplied with life's neccessities such as food and wine. Local doctor on hand which was great as my dad was ill during the last couple of days and although i didn't contact the doctor it was good to know one was available. The only downside was i was unable to take dad down to the summer house as it is too steep to get him back, but i loved it down there. All being well we hope to make a return visit in 2013.
“Absolutely perfect” Very comfortable cottage with lots of lovely little "add on's" that make the stay a little more luxurious (e.g. wine and flowers on arrival, lots of fresh coffee via tessimo machine, free broadband and incoming telephone line). Very comfortable cottage and lovely log fire.
Perfect location within Cornwall to explore to the north or south and the wonderful Heron Inn next door for food. All in all, a brilliant place to stay and I highly recommend it.
“Fabulous house, spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable!” We stayed in the Granary in June and had a wonderful holiday. The house is the cleanest holiday home I've ever stayed in and it was spacious, comfortable and very well equiped. Nearby pubs and beaches were outstanding. A really incredible holiday home that I would recommend to anyone (even friends!).

“Just perfect” We had an absolutely wonderful time in this apartment. My husband and I were travelling with 3 older relatives, a teenager, and our 5 year old, and everyone was happy here. The location is simply perfect, just steps from Trafalgar Square. you can walk to many of the sights of Central London. We walked to Buckingham Palace, St. James Park, Westminster (Big Ben), Covent Garden/Transport Museum, the National Gallery, Piccadilly and Leicester Square. The Tower of London/Tower Bridge is an easy ride on the #15 bus. You can catch busses from Trafalgar and trains or tube from Charing Cross/Embankment to almost everywhere else (the top drawer in the living room is full of helpful maps and guides). For supplies in the area, at the top of the street there is a bike rental, a Boots chemist, and a Cooperative grocery. At the entrance to Charing Cross station (a block away) there is a Marks & Spencer Simply Food shop.
The apartment is very spacious. We especially enjoyed being able to eat together (all 7 of us!) at the large dining table. The apartment is on two levels with a fairly steep stairway, so I would not recommend it for very small children (although our five year old was fine with it) or people with limited mobility. The two large bedrooms and both bathrooms are downstairs, and the small bunk bed room is separated from the main floor by a few steps as well. The street outside is very quiet except on the weekends when the pub next door (literally right outside the kitchen window) can be a little noisy... but it really didn't disturb us inside and you could hardly hear it downstairs in the bedrooms. The wifi was excellent and managed as many as five devices at once with no slowdown. The owner's rep (Tansy) was extremely helpful and responded immediately to all questions no matter how small. And the keyholding company was amazing: we phones them from Heathrow and he was waiting on his motorbike when we arrived! The only trouble we had was that all of us had difficulty figuring out the water taps in the showers. They are very "modern" and none of us were accustomed to the operation of them so it took us some trial and error to manage a satisfactory shower. Perhaps the owner will add a page of explanation in the greetings book for future travelers. We also could have used a few more towels (we were left exactly one each for a 9 day stay). Also, if you are planning to arrive by taxi, you should familiarize yourself with the directions first because not all taxi drivers are familiar with Craven Street and it is a bit tricky to get to (you actually must drive under a building). All in all, we had a great time and were sorry to leave. I hope we can stay here next time we are in London!

“Beautiful home, fabulous view, perfect location” We love Bamburgh and this holiday home is the perfect place to enjoy a stay there. The home itself is fitted, furnished and equipped to a really high standard, and laid out to make the most of the fantastic view of the castle, and allow for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. With a young family we were really grateful for the safety of the enclosed drive and outside space, the peaceful bedrooms, and we appreciated little touches like the box of games and the childrens' tableware. The location is also superb, just a short walk to the beach, the village, the green and play area, and of course the castle! We had a fabulous holiday at Bamburgh Barn and will hopefully be back.

The cottage is comfortable, has all you need. “Ms” Fantastic! A group of us hired the Safari Tent and the Red Sky Shepherds Hut for the weekend. The whole site is beautiful and really well laid out. I think it's great that the areas for larger groups are separate - there were two large groups staying at the same time as us, but there was no noise issue at all. The Safari tent is in its own field with just 4 other pods at the further end, so we had plenty of space and privacy. The shared facilities were excellent - everything we could possibly need including washing and drying machines, microwave and wet rooms, Which were very clean and new looking. The safari tent itself was wonderful - very spacious and stylish, with a great kitchenette and plenty of room to stay inside if the weather is bad. A couple that were with us stayed in the Red Sky Shepherds Hut. It was so lovely. Very private and beautifully kept, with its own under cover hot tub. Karen and her daughter were very welcoming and helpful. I loved the little extras like being able to hire fire pits and buy BBQ coals and firewood at when we needed to by paying into an honesty box. We had a wonderful weekend at Manor Farm Glamping. It's beautifully kept, with great facilities. We would definitely go again and I would recommend it to anyone.

The buck stops with me at Long Beach, and I was surprised to read this.
The guests left after a short time - perhaps an hour. When the key was handed in i personally asked if there was any particular reason for the early departure but answer came there none, and we assumed in the office that personal circumstances meant they had to go home. But now this review has come in with the reasons I should make it clear that the heating was quite adequate: in fact a new heating system (electric, wall convectors) had been installed about a week beforehand (and left on for a period to get rid of the "new electric appliance" smell that can occur). Electric is free, and we make it clear we can supply additional heaters (at no cost) if needed. The cleaning team made the beds up the day before arrival and the property was certainly not damp. As to the hot water, the tank would have been up to temperature within an hour of switching on.
There was a particularly cold snap around this time, but if we had known that initial temperature was an issue to them I would have expected the guests to say to us something like "Here's my problem, what can you do to help?". And we would have done: I'm here to make sure that troubles are put right so as to maintain their comfort and our good will.
What a shame: this could have been sorted.
“Beautiful cottage in ideal location.” We arrived at Rose Cottage after a very long drive and in the dark. We were met by a welcoming light, music playing and the heating on. There were logs ready for the log burner and a welcome basket of goodies. The décor and furnishings were simply lovely and of a very high standard. We couldn't have been more thrilled with our choice. The owners have certainly gone the extra mile to provide a perfect stay and the location was ideal for us. Although a little wet on our week, we still managed some amazing walks without having to take the car. Would thoroughly recommend.

“Birthday in the jungle in a good way!” Oak Retreat is such an unusual place to stay. Mark and Sara have created an idyllic spot in their 'shed' as we christened it. It is far from a shed as the lodge is built and kitted out beautifully. The highlight though is its setting amongst the plants and trees and the clever lighting. It is magical particularly at night when the canopy is subtly illuminated. You can sit on the comfortable balcony which is under cover if it dares to rain. You can listen to the trickle of the stream and waterfall and it is totally relaxing. You can also wallow in the hot tub to feel even more indulged. After a very warm welcome you are left to your own devices in total privacy although help is on hand should you need it. A perfect break in a lovely little town. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a stay here particularly if you are celebrating something special. We would certainly wish to return.

“Fantastic location to get away from it all!” We have just returned from a fantastic stay at Pine Cottage. From the moment we booked, we knew we had made the right decision. Emma was amazing at providing every piece of information we could have possibly needed prior to our arrival, meaning we knew exactly what to expect when we arrived regarding both the cottage and the surrounding area (the driveway was really not an issue at all). The cottage itself made the perfect location for our short break, ideally situated for walking and wildlife spotting. The interior was well thought out and finished to a very high standard, with the log burner making an excellent addition when coming in from the chilly November air. The bathroom was a little on the small side, with fairly basic facilities, however, this did not detract from the cottage in the slightest. We look forward to returning to this charming cottage in the near future. Thank you very much Emma and Bill, we didn’t want to come home!
