“Peaceful location, spacious modern lodge, wonderful views.” The Shieling is a fantastic place to stay and explore Northumberland. Warkworth and Amble are only minutes away by car for local facilities and attractions whilst the market town of Alnwick with its beautiful gardens and wonderful castle is just a little further. The lodge itself is clean modern, well equipped and spacious and was perfect for our family of 5. The sea view and peaceful location were ideal for relaxing after a busy day of sight seeing
“Woodpecker Lodge” My husband and disabled mother stayed at Woodpecker Lodge over this Easter weekend. i was stunned at the excellent accommodation with everything of the highest quality and standards. The disabled downstairs bedroom and wet room was ideal for my mom and with wide doors if wheelchair access is required.
We also received a "Welcome Basket" from the owners who met us on arrival and were very friendly and kindly showed us a£round the property. They also took the time to leave a few essentials in the fridge for us to be getting on with which was also a generous touch
I would recommend this accommodation to anyone wanting to stay in an high standard of accommodation which was very comfortable, excellent standard of cleanliness and in a quiet location. Thank you for a wonderful stay
“Birthday in the jungle in a good way!” Oak Retreat is such an unusual place to stay. Mark and Sara have created an idyllic spot in their 'shed' as we christened it. It is far from a shed as the lodge is built and kitted out beautifully. The highlight though is its setting amongst the plants and trees and the clever lighting. It is magical particularly at night when the canopy is subtly illuminated. You can sit on the comfortable balcony which is under cover if it dares to rain. You can listen to the trickle of the stream and waterfall and it is totally relaxing. You can also wallow in the hot tub to feel even more indulged. After a very warm welcome you are left to your own devices in total privacy although help is on hand should you need it. A perfect break in a lovely little town. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a stay here particularly if you are celebrating something special. We would certainly wish to return.
“Lovely Christmas break” The lodge was beautiful, very modern and exceptional clean and the views over the lake were stunning. Emma was very friendly and helpful and sorted any queries straight away. It was very quiet as we went out of season but ideal for the relaxing break that we were looking for, we thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be booking again.

“Lovely lodge” Great lodge set on a park with similar lodges and a leisure centre gym, swimming pool, exercise classes, spa and restaurant. WE only used the pool family ticket £10 (2 adults up to 3 children). There is a lake which you can easily walk around all flat surfaces. We spent an afternoon//evening in blackpool for the illuminations was around an hour away. Went to Lake windermere around 30 mins away didn't quite make it to Morecombe 20 mins away chose to relax at the lodge and play cards and watch did with the children. All cooking facilities worked, lights etc all bedding was provided and beds comfortable. We took our own slow cooker which was great after a days exploring.
“Most beautiful Place we've Seen during touring in the UK” 'The Barn' is really great. It is a peaceful, comfortable place with the best landlady and landlord I've had yet, and I am touring around the whole UK so I've Seen plenty cottages. It's really worth it to stay there and having a good time. They even have a juke box. I think I want to spend my next holiday there, too.
“lovely view” This place was so cosy and warm, plenty of room and everything you needed was in this accommodation. I went when it was cold and really enjoyed it me and my granddaughter went swimming twice a day as we really loved the pool,it was lovely and warm and the steam room sauna and hot tub were just heaven. I would love to go back in the summer and see all the boats in the lake, sitting on the veranda glass of wine in my hand enjoying the wonderful view. My ten year old granddaughter cant wait to go back.
“lovely stay” We really had a great stay at the Seabreeze Lodge. Everything you need (and more) is there and very clean. Lovely quiet park, very well kept. The Royal Oak pub (300 yards away) has great food (need to book!) If in the area will definitely stay again
“Riverlark lodge break” Thank you Shizuka & Todd, We had a wonderful peaceful Short break in a beautiful location with very friendly locals. The lodge was very clean and comfortable with all the necessary facilities. The children had a great time in the canoes, rowing boat, cycling and netting water bugs. Fantatic day trips to Wicked Fen Nature Reserve and Ely Cathedral.
“Fabulous location for the Lake District” My husband and I were between homes and enjoyed a week at the base of the Lake District, we spent our days travelling to all the great sites, lunch at L'Enclume and many other lovely locations in the region. Very well appointed accommodation.
“Perfect location for our son's wedding in Cricklade” Stunning views of the lake, a quiet and safe location, ideal for walking with a baby in a pram. Kitchen was well equipped and even had enough room to allow me to decorate 5 wedding cakes! 3 bath/shower rooms made it easy for all of us to prepare for the wedding day.
