Chipping Campden cottage

“Wish I Could Stay Forever” Our stay at the Rosary Cottage was amazing. First of all, staying in a 600-year old cottage was a thrill in and of itself. I could not help imagining all the happenings in this cottage and town over the past 600 years and the stories that could be told. The cottage is in wonderful shape and has everything you could possibly need. The village of Chipping Campden is beautiful and also has everything you could possibly need for a vacation. There are plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, gift shops, and places to visit. It's a bustling little village with its market hall still intact. I would recommend the cottage to anyone who wishes to stay in the Cotswolds, and especially Chipping Campden.

“Superb quality cottage - centrally located for surrounding Cotswold villages” The cottage could not have been more welcoming - we arrived after dark, having travelled all da,y to find that the heating and lights were switched on and a more than generous welcome package had been left for our enjoyment. The cottage was spotlessly clean and the bed linen and towels were of excellent quality. The beds were very comfortable and for a cottage the rooms were quite spacious. The kitchen was very well equipped - to the point that my husband said "I bet they don't have this..." only to find it in the cupboard. The plumbing - pressure of shower, hot water etc., was very good, no noisy tank filling noises in the middle of the night. The heating and log burner were gas and very efficient - There was also a very good 'house guide' left by the owner.. We were travelling from outside of the UK and the owner contacted us the day before and on the evening of arrival to make sure all was OK for us - she was extremely helpful and obliging and we could not recommend this cottage highly enough. We were 4 adults travelling together and the cottage was more than spacious enough for us.

“Everyone in our party of 10 agreed - BHF was absolutely perfect” This year it was my turn to organise the annual reunion and I managed to find the gem that is BHF. It was by far the best venue yet. We had several barbecues on the patio in the blazing sunshine with the best views you could ask for, absolutely perfect. Better still it was the weekend of Fairford Airshow and we had a fantastic flyby from the Red Arrows... thanks for arranging that for us Peter and Linda ;)

“Lovely stay” We were a group of 8 girls wanting to have a relaxed country weekend and found Sherwood to be the perfect cottage for us. The inside is as beautiful as the outside and the kitchen is well equipped for home cooking and dining in. All the bedrooms were warm and comfortable and we found the entertaining spaces to be just right for our number. Beth and her family are very helpful throughout the booking process and came over straight away when we couldn’t figure out how to turn on the television. The Cat and Custard Pot pub was a great place to go for lunch and is just down the road, as well as being the starting point for a lovely walk. We had a fantastic weekend!

“Comfortable and convienient” We were warmly welcomed by Marciie and shown to our cottage. There was plenty of space, all the equipment we needed, a comfortable bed and chairs. Lots to do nearby, both walks and places of interest. Priced competitively for a property in this area, I would highly recommend.

“Beautiful!” The cottage is lovely! Some original features but with the luxury of central heating! We thought it was a fab touch to have wine and milk in the fridge, although we left it for the next guest as we'd already bought some with us. We then found the chocolate cake much to the kids delight. The cottage is very well equipped and felt like we were in someone's well loved home and not a rental property. I'd prefer to use the word cosy as opposed to small...... you need to appreciate how old the building is and understand that of course there'll not be big modern fitted wardrobes etc, however it was plenty big enough for us 4. Full marks to whoever does the cleaning as it was spotless. The surrounding area is beautiful. It's a tiny town but still manages to cram in 4 pubs in walking distance along with a couple of higher end restaurants and deli/cafes. A small word to anyone with small children...... only 2 of the 4 pubs offer a dedicated children's menu so just bear that in mind. Would love to come back another time when the castle is open. Great stay altogether!

“A perfect retreat” We had a wonderful relaxing stay in Well Cottage, so cosy with a wood burning stove & beams. Situated in a lovely peaceful square, yet only minutes from all amenities that Bourton has to ofer. The owner Bette & her daughter Dawn came to introduce themselves & were so friendly, offering helpful information about the cottage & the area. They had put a lot of thought into what was needed to make a comfortable holiday, & there was nothing lacking. We would definitely recommend this cottage if you like quaint & quirky.

“We couldn't have asked for a better location - simply excellent” My family of 13 (including a baby) stayed at Ashton House to celebrate my dad's 70th birthday and we were there for 2 nights. The location is simply stunning and the house is perfect for a large group. Everything you need is in the house, the rooms are well presented and the decor is lovely. We felt very special. The whole area is so peaceful and relaxing, we could have stayed for much longer. Arrangements beforehand were really comprehensive with simple directions, entry, parking etc details. I would highly recommend this house for anybody wanting a special break.

Cotswolds holidays

The Cotswolds is, without doubt, one of England's most beautiful regions. In recent years it's become a firm celebrity favourite, and with such a diverse range of restaurants, shops and scenery, it's not hard to see why.

Consisting of sprawling hills, thatched cottages, history-rich churches and ancient mansions, it couldn't be prettier. Book yourself a picture postcard cottage in a quaint village, a spacious barn conversion out in the countryside, or an apartment with all the amenities of a bustling market town.

Where to go in Cotswolds?

The Cotswolds has been seducing its visitors for centuries. Here, the air feels cleaner, the villages are greener and there's quintessential charm at every turn.

If you're looking for stately homes akin to Downton's finest, a trip to Frampton Court Estate, Stanway House, Rodmarton Manor or Cornwell Manor, among others, will be right up your street. For a taste of village life, you're equally spoilt for choice. Some of our favourites include Naunton, Painswick and Bourton on Water (affectionately nicknamed the Venice of the Cotswolds). All boast that famous honey-hued Cotswold stone and effortless style.

Farmers' markets are also popular and in abundance here. The market towns of Chipping Campden and Cirencester offer among some of the best produce.

And don't forget to check out one of the countless country pubs. No trip to the Cotswolds is complete without some hearty local produce and artisan ale by the fire. Wherever you choose to stay, there's bound to be an excellent pub nearby. Even the smallest villages have exceptionally fresh food on offer.

Things to do in Cotswolds

Spread across six counties, the Cotswolds boasts plenty of fun and memorable activities for all the family (pets included!). On the top of many people's lists is the awe-inspiring Gloucester Cathedral. Built over 1300 years ago and steeped in history, it's well worth taking a tour of the catacombs and bell tower. If you're lucky, you may even catch the award-winning choir in action.

For little and big kids alike, Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens in the popular village of Burford is a must-visit. Set in over 160 acres of parkland, you'll discover lions, rhinos, giraffes and much, much more. Plus, the park is dedicated to looking after special endangered species, so your visit will be helping keep these marvellous creatures alive and well.

Other popular attractions include the beautiful grounds and buildings of Blenheim Palace. Birthplace to a certain Sir Winston Churchill, it's a masterpiece of 18th century architecture and splendour.

Regardless of your age or budget, there's no better way to embrace the beauty than with a walk in the great outdoors.

The Perfect Cotswold Cottage for Two
Snug Cottage in Beautiful Location

We stayed for a long weekend at Aspodel cottage, and had a great stay. The contact with the owners in advance of the stay was really helpful and they were very friendly able to provide great advice for getting there and for during the stay. The cottage itself is lovely and in a really nice location with a nice cottage garden overlooking the fields behind the cottage. The facilities in the cottage were great for a long weekend and would also be suitable for a longer stay, there is a DVD player available and an interesting selection of DVDs to watch if you arent outside enjoying the tranquility the garden offers. The bed is comfy and the bathroom had nice towels to use whilst we were there. My wife and I really enjoyed our time at the cottage and would ahppily return again in the future.see more
White Hart House, Burford
Great house, lovely garden, perfect location!

We loved our stay at White Hart House! It is a perfect size for a large group, especially the huge, really well equipped kitchen and smaller dining area adjoining it. The cooker is obviously very new and is really efficient. The bedrooms are all a good size and beds are really comfortable. It was so good to arrive in a house which is spotlessly clean too. The location just a short walk from the pretty town of Burford was wonderful. There are so many good pubs and coffee shops. We went to the parish church service which we really enjoyed. The Cotswold Wildlife park is well worth a visit too. Communication with the Housekeeper was excellent. We would love to go back one day!see more
Tynings Barn
Simply one of the best!

We booked this barn for 4 nights and we only wished it had been available for a full week! We have stayed in many UK cottages and this is one of the best. Plenty of room for 4 , immaculate throughout and has all the mod cons. The bamboo woods are great for a dog walk and the outdoor games area is fab for teenagers. So much to do in the area- we visited Forest of Dean, cheddar Gorge and Gloucester Quays. Thank you Annabel and Mark we loved your barn and hope to return soon!see more
27 Horsefair, Malmesbury Sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms
Very lovely

The cottage is exactly as pictured online. It was extremely clean, the beds were so comfortable. The location is central and easy to access. My friends and I had a wonderful stay. The only comment I have is the shower, it’s very awkward showering without getting the bathroom floor wet. But the mat is very absorbent and does dry it easily.see more

A lovely welcome when we arrived outside The Haven and we werent disappointed when we walked through the door. The space was immaculate and had everything we needed and more for our two night stopover. The beds were so comfortable, rooms light and airy with views to die for. Would love to return for a longer stay next time and enjoy the Cotswold Way.see more
