“Excellent accommodation whatever the weather” A week in a bungalow on the edge of a cliff in February, what was I thinking? Well whatever I was thinking I was absolutely right. 119 Waterside Park in Corton is an excellent two bedroom bungalow yards from the cliff edge (well fenced off). The fixtures and fittings are excellent, it was freshly painted ready for the new year ahead and you are assured of a warm welcome when you arrive. The newly installed decking with gate was perfect for our dog and will be great for relaxing on when the weather improves. I can honestly say I have never been so warm and comfortable in a holiday bungalow. The bed was comfortable with an extra fleece blanket which we didn't need, and the shower was great. We would love to stay here again but as we were house hunting in the area hopefully we will soon have our own seaside heaven.
“Beautiful country retreat” The house is lovely-comfortable and attractively furnished. The kitchen is huge and well equipped. It was too cold to use the conservatory, but it certainly was an inviting space. The views from the living room and main bedroom are beautiful with a well kept garden and fields beyond. The gas fire meant we could quickly warm up the living space in the evenings. The bedrooms are very comfortable and the bathrooms luxurious. Communication with the owner was timely, friendly and informative. We found everything as described on the website. We did not spend much time in the local area as we were commuting to Durham; both Durham and the Newcastle area are within easy reach by car.
“Lovely, quirky cottage in the middle of Chipping Campden” Right in the middle (literally, as it is on a street "island") of a charming village, our family of five fully enjoyed staying in such a beautiful, and spacious cottage. Fully equipped with three baths, and all modern appliances, our stay was a much needed break after a week of record high temperatures in London. Lots of places to eat and shop!
“A perfect retreat” The Cider House is an absolutely perfect retreat, in an idyllic village. The house is spotless, with all the amenities and more, to provide a relaxing break. We loved everything about it from the clean smell as you open the door, the ‘welcome’ basket of goodies and milk in the fridge to the tranquil, coordinated décor and amazingly comfortable bed. The heating throughout is just right, no need to bring thermals. In fact, no need to bring much as everything is provided; hangers, hairdryer, umbrella, iron, bottle opener, illuminated make-up mirror, jewellery stand, fluffy towels…everything! Stratford is only eight minutes’ drive away or an hour’s stroll along the canal. The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust houses are well worth a visit, especially as Mary Arden’s Farm is just two minutes’ walk from The Cider House. There is a pub nearby but we found nothing could beat curling up in the evening on the lovely sofa with a glass of cider to watch a film from the vast library provided. Of course, a visit to the fantastic RSC is also essential, whether you are a lover of Shakespeare or not, it is an experience not to be missed. A huge Thank You to Craig and Lee for making our holiday truly amazing.
“Cozy and comfortable” We had a fantastic time, the cottage was exactly as shown, cozy and clean, very well presented. Everything was provided that we could need, towels and linen - even salt! It is newly refurbished and looks it, there was a lot of attention to detail and the end result is really nice, it feels very luxurious and we thought it was very good value for a week's stay. It sleeps four but would probably be too small for four adults; but perfect for a romantic getaway for two. The cottage is on the main road but it was well insulated so not noisy, and we had our own little side entrance to the garden, so it felt very private. We booked very late but this was no trouble, the owner was really helpful and it was extremely easy. The village is small but very easily accessible for lots of things; a little less than an hour to Skegness and only about fifteen minutes to Lincoln. Nearby Woodhall Spa was great for a leisurely wander. We would very happily go back and would recommend to anyone.

“An absolute gem of a cottage” Had a fantastic 2 night stay at Lavender Cottage. The location is great, 50m from the river in the centre of Bourton. The owners communication was great, and the fact that they left small gifts on the pillows for the kids was lovely. The kitchen was well equipped, and the rest of the cottage was lovely and cosy. 5* on every front! Thank you.
“Excellent accomodation” A spacious and comfortable accomodation in a quiet and rural environment.
The house is ideally situated for trips into the Kent region.
A small minus is that we had to be creative to cook pasta for 8 persons (lack of sufficant cooking utensils.
“Wonderful Apartment and view” My husband and I booked a six day trip to Newquay. This apartment was beautifully clean, with an amazing view of the sea. Despite the weather, The apartment was lovely and warm. Unfortunately we were there when storm Doris hit and it did take the Internet out for a day. We contacted Craig the owner who very quickly got onto the broadband provider and got it fixed.
There were two bedrooms, one double room and the second bedroom that sleeps three. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was excellent, with lots of hot water. I can't really think of anything negative and my husband and I do travel around a lot so all in all, we had a very nice time and I will definitely use this apartment again when we visit Cornwall. Thank you Craig for the bottle of fizz on arrival and the Choccies.
“great cottage for girls' catch up” We had a great time in the cottage. Close enough to walk into Tisbury and its shops, train station and surrounding countryside. All facilities in the cottage are really good and parking for 3 small cars. Back garden is secure and a sun trap. Lovely Pimms in the Bennett Arms (had a pop up pizza stand on Friday night), local co-op well stocked. Train to Salisbury. Lovely surrounding countryside and English villages. Easy walk to Old Wardour Castle. Great evening meal in Compasses Inn at Chicksgrove. Happily stay again.
“Fantastic standard and location” We stayed for three days over New Year as a much needed break for two couples and a 13 year old. The communication with the owners had been friendly, prompt, helpful and efficient. The quality of the building, decor, furniture, bedding, towels and equipment was first class and the place was spotless. The appeal 'in the flesh' was even greater than in the very inviting advert , the beds were far too comfortable, and we had a thoroughly relaxing stay. Despite the changeable weather, we walked into the village a couple of times, had a great meal at The Falcon Inn and on NY's Day enjoyed the walk through the woods to the beach and surrounding countryside. We would highly recommend this accommodation and will be looking for an opportunity to return.
“A weekend to remember and one to be repeated!” Booked this apartment to celebrate a special Birthday with 3 generations of family. It looked lovely on the internet but when we got there it was even better! Very spacious, well equipped and luxuriously furnished. We parked the cars and didn't need them again, we could walk to the nearby shops and sea front. We had a lovely day at the dockyard and would thoroughly recommend the "water margin" Chinese buffet. There was a good selection of shops near the Spinnaker Tower which were all within walking distance. The milk and chocolates left by the owner were a lovely touch. Would really consider returning but maybe for longer! A very comfortable stay.
“Stunning lodge with beautiful views of the lake, very relaxing holiday.” Fantastic lodge with everything we could have wished for. The welcome pack was very much appreciated and enjoyed by all. Donna, the owner, was very friendly and helpful providing lots of information prior to and during our stay. There is plenty of seating on the decking and the hot tub is lovely to relax in at any time of day. Fantastic views over the lake all helped to make this a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday.
“Long Weekend Break” Absolutely beautiful place set in a very nice location. The lodge is very clean and set to a high standard. I booked this as a surprise for my fiancée and 3 year old son. It’s safe to say, it did not disappoint!
I would recommend it to anyone and above all, I’ll certainly bare it in mind for the future.
Thank you again Bash & Donna
Simon, Emma & Oliver
P.s The card and chocolates were a lovely touch
“Fabulous location for a relaxing holiday” We stayed at Longlands Retreat for a week at the end of May.
The bungalow is really well presented & equipped with everything you could need. It easily accomodated 4 adults, 2 kids & a dog, providing a really relaxing home from home after a day on the beach or sightseeing.
Beadnell Bay is a superb sweeping bay with lovely soft sand & when the tide is low, great rockpools that kept our kids entertained for hours, a great place to enjoy the sun with a drink & a bbq.
We ate out at beadnell Towers & would recommend it to anyone wanting first class food & surroundings it also had a pool table which kids loved.
“Confortable and peaceful” Beautiful house in a very quiet street. House with all the amenities, confortable and clean.2 minutes walk from a park and the shop. The best position to visit Oxford and the Coastwald.Owners couldn't be more nicer and kind.I would love to come back and stay there again!
“Do not hesitate to book this flat!” We are a Swiss family with three children (7, 11 and 13) who stayed in this flat for two weeks in July.
As many have mentioned before, the sordid-looking surroundings (staircase, lift) are a real put-off and the building itself is an eyesore, but as the owner was honest about this we knew what to expect. A lot of families (of African origin) with small children live in this housing estate and we never encountered anything strange or felt unsafe.
The flat is tastefully decorated and furnished, very bright and has everything you need: Washing machine/tumble dryer, dishwasher, deep freezer, PlayStation, a wide range of books, umbrellas, iron etc.! Besides, you have a stunning view, you can even see the London Eye. It is perfect for four people, five is o.k. (but we wonder where you would put up the 6th person).
Dejan was always on time, very polite, helpful and correct and he provided us with a very generous welcome pack. After a long journey (we came to London by train) we were so grateful that shopping wasn't the first thing we had to do.
If you are not familiar with the London public transport system, you might find it a drawback that there is no tube station nearby. But Clapham Station is just a stone's throw away and there are trains to Victoria and Waterloo every 2-4 minutes. (But be aware that children (>5) have to pay on Southern and Southwestern train services!)
We would definitely recommend that you stay with Dejan!
“The Jetty” The Jetty was a lovely home to stay in for a week. We were welcomed by a lovely card and bottle of wine. The home was very well equipped with everything we needed.
It was lovely and clean and the beds were very comfy.
Unfortunately for us, we didn't have great weather so didn't get to go on the beach much. It was a great location for the beach though. The children used the heated outdoor pool, which was kept well.
“Sunset Corner - Sheringham” Fantastic family accommodation catering for children of all ages. Perfectly situated close to Sheringham high street and beach. Lots of attractions close by, lovely sandy beaches at West Runton and not far to Cromer.
“Perfect!” This place was beautiful! Log fire and brilliant facilities. Everything was to a high standard. The flat had everything you could possibly need. The place was also spotless. Location wise, could not be better for exploring the New Forest. Overall, perfect get away!
“Great location, house perfect size for our family get together” The house is in a great location in a road which runs parallel to the sea front and there is a park opposite with both play equipment for the children and exercise equipment for the adults. The house had all the equipment we needed for the stay and the steam room was an added bonus.
“Lovely lodge and location for a break away” A group of four of us stayed here for 3 nights to celebrate my birthday.
The lodge is located right next to one of the smaller lakes and has its own fishing stand. We made friends with lots of ducks! Great view ouf of the patio doors.
We found the lodge very comfortable with tasteful decor, nice furniture and fittings and smart, clean bathrooms.
The hot tub was great, especially on the clearer nights looking up to the stars.
The owners were helpful and I'd definitely stay at Avocet Lodge again. We didn't want to leave!
“A Country Cottage Escape” As a seniors couple we chose Arlington cottage in Blockley as a way of experiencing part of The Cotswolds away from the larger towns. Access to Morten in Marsh railway station by bus/taxi was a factor as we were not using a car. This worked well and we were able to travel to nearby Bourton on The Water (then walk to Upper and Lower Slaughter ). Chipping Campden and Broadway were also accessed by bus.
The apartment was exactly as presented on the web site with a well equipped, new bathroom , kitchen and furnishings. The village shop and cafe provided most of our catering needs and the two local pubs were friendly with good menu choices.
Contact with the owner Victoria via e mail and txt message was very helpful Check in information was given well in advance for our arrival. A tasty cake had been left for us along with some basic items for cooking. The church nearby was interesting to visit for its part in the Series Father Brown. We were very happy with our stay in the cottage which allowed us the opportunity to experience a slower pace in our tour of UK
“A really relaxing stay in Padstow” Having been to Cornwall many times this was our first stay in Padstow. I don't think we could have asked for much more. The cottage is bang in the centre of Padstow, everything is within walking distance.
The cottage itself is very well appointed in a modern style, a lovely large kitchen and sitting room, very clean and a wood burner which made it very welcoming as we were slightly out of season.
The only minor downside I can think of is the parking - but then it is in the middle of Padstow and not that far from the carparks. We were still able to load/unload the car right outside with no problem.
I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone, from couples to familys - it makes for such a relaxing time when you can just wander out and enjoy all that Padstow has to offer.
“Perfect countryside getaway” We recently stayed for a long weekend at Sweetslade and were greeted very warmly on arrival. The barn was spotlessly clean and is extremely well equipped - it is clear that a lot of thought has gone into providing absolutely everything you could want. The kitchen facilities are excellent and there are lots of things to do eg lovefilm, books etc. Comfy bed, lovely bath. Feels really spacious yet really cosy at the same time. Thoroughly recommended.
“Great spot for a gathering of friends” Spatious accommodation at a very competitive price in a lovely village location. The owners were very helpful and friendly, as were the villagers. We were there during a cold spell in winter, and had to get additional firewood - this can be obtained either from the village store or post office. There is no off-street parking, but this was not really a problem for us. There are two decent-looking pubs very close to hand. We'd like to come back in the summer.
England’s fascinating history and heritage is nothing short of mindblowing. From Stonehenge to Shakespeare, the wild Yorkshire Moors to London’s West End, there’s so much love about this endlessly enchanting country.
Iconic & Inspirational
Home to some of the world’s most impressive landmarks such as Hadrian's Wall and the Houses of Parliament, England is packed with inspiring sights. For starters, you can explore ancient castles, such as Dover Castle overlooking the white cliffs, or the Tower of London on the banks of the River Thames. Admire artworks at world-famous galleries including London’s National Gallery and Birmingham’s Museum & Art Gallery. And those in pursuit of history should head to one of England’s many remarkable museums, from the Jorvik Viking Centre in York to the Ashmolean in Oxford.
Some of the best beaches in the world can be found along England’s coastline, including the fossil-studded Jurassic Coast and the Norfolk Coast - an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. To see some of the prettiest countryside in England, stay in the Cotswolds with its tapestry of chocolate-box villages. For breathtakingly beautiful views, the Peak and Lake District are must-sees. And for fields as far as the eye can see, navigate your way through the marshy fens of Lincolnshire.
Legends Of Literature
England’s rich history and landscape is the stuff of legends. When you come face-to-face with the Major Oak in Nottinghamshire’s Sherwood Forest, you’ll see just how it captures the imagination. Tintagel Castle in Cornwall, with its links to King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, is simply magical. And when you see Oxford’s university buildings, it’s like Hogwarts has landed in the Muggle world. With hundreds of cottages and holiday homes in England just waiting to be booked, what are you waiting for?

We stayed at the lodge fri to sun for my 40th birthday weekend, our party consisted of myself, husband, our 2 boys and a friend. The lodge is beautiful very spacious and clean. Mark the manager was lovely and available when needed. The lakes and surroundings are beautiful with lots of exciting activities for the children to do. Number 10 Park Street
Delightful, comfortable getaway in the heart of Stow
This was our second stay at 10 Park St. in Stow. The flat was as fresh and as enjoyable this year as it was in 2016. Spacious, centrally-located, well-appointed, delightfully decorated, 10 Park is extremely comfortable. We stayed for a week with different couples each time. There is plenty of space for all, both in the common areas as well as in nooks to retire to individually. Everything you need is here and works well. A great first floor balcony and a beautiful ‘hidden’ garden are two signature features that set #10 apart. After a day on the footpaths or having explored Stow, 10 Park is a great “place apart” to retire to. Wine in the garden, a bite to eat, great sleep, and a nice cup in the morning – it’s all here. Highly recommended. …
