“Excellent accomodation” A spacious and comfortable accomodation in a quiet and rural environment.
The house is ideally situated for trips into the Kent region.
A small minus is that we had to be creative to cook pasta for 8 persons (lack of sufficant cooking utensils.
“Just perfect” We had an absolutely wonderful time in this apartment. My husband and I were travelling with 3 older relatives, a teenager, and our 5 year old, and everyone was happy here. The location is simply perfect, just steps from Trafalgar Square. you can walk to many of the sights of Central London. We walked to Buckingham Palace, St. James Park, Westminster (Big Ben), Covent Garden/Transport Museum, the National Gallery, Piccadilly and Leicester Square. The Tower of London/Tower Bridge is an easy ride on the #15 bus. You can catch busses from Trafalgar and trains or tube from Charing Cross/Embankment to almost everywhere else (the top drawer in the living room is full of helpful maps and guides). For supplies in the area, at the top of the street there is a bike rental, a Boots chemist, and a Cooperative grocery. At the entrance to Charing Cross station (a block away) there is a Marks & Spencer Simply Food shop.
The apartment is very spacious. We especially enjoyed being able to eat together (all 7 of us!) at the large dining table. The apartment is on two levels with a fairly steep stairway, so I would not recommend it for very small children (although our five year old was fine with it) or people with limited mobility. The two large bedrooms and both bathrooms are downstairs, and the small bunk bed room is separated from the main floor by a few steps as well. The street outside is very quiet except on the weekends when the pub next door (literally right outside the kitchen window) can be a little noisy... but it really didn't disturb us inside and you could hardly hear it downstairs in the bedrooms. The wifi was excellent and managed as many as five devices at once with no slowdown. The owner's rep (Tansy) was extremely helpful and responded immediately to all questions no matter how small. And the keyholding company was amazing: we phones them from Heathrow and he was waiting on his motorbike when we arrived! The only trouble we had was that all of us had difficulty figuring out the water taps in the showers. They are very "modern" and none of us were accustomed to the operation of them so it took us some trial and error to manage a satisfactory shower. Perhaps the owner will add a page of explanation in the greetings book for future travelers. We also could have used a few more towels (we were left exactly one each for a 9 day stay). Also, if you are planning to arrive by taxi, you should familiarize yourself with the directions first because not all taxi drivers are familiar with Craven Street and it is a bit tricky to get to (you actually must drive under a building). All in all, we had a great time and were sorry to leave. I hope we can stay here next time we are in London!
“Six stars” Wonderful in every respect; comfortable, fresh, spacious, modern with every convenience, private parking, and a well-stocked goody tray on arrival. Location is perfect too, within minutes' walk to the Moor, rail station, supermarket and the beautiful Ilkley town centre. Take a bow, Claire and team - we'll be back.
“Lovely holiday” Lovely welcome, full equipped kitchen, very clean, comfortable beds, beautiful view from the cottage, peaceful place with the sky full of stars! Definitely recommend this place. Thank you Camel View!
“Brilliant - Complete Understatement” We rented this house for a Hen Party in May 2014, and could not have chosen a better house.
The house was amazing. Would definetely rent this house again, it is clean, spacious and lends itself very well for the group we had. The house is very well equipped and had every utensil available should it be needed.
The location could not have been better, literally less than a 5 minute walk to the end of the road and your in the City Centre.
The caretaker Lee was just superb, she greeted us with a friendly smile, and all round brilliant character. She is close by and whenever we had a question she was readily available with the answer.
I would definetely recommend this accommodation, only downside for us is that we could not stay longer!!
Thank You Cara and Lee! The Admirals is simply superb : - )
“Wonderful little property close to town” Great little apartment for a couple and conveniently located 5 minutes walk from the town. The property was lovely and clean. Small but had everything we needed for a week long stay. Corinne the owner was great to deal with and responded quickly to any queries we had. Nice welcome of tea, coffee, milk and biscuits.
“Thoughtfully arranged cottage, catering to guests smallest needs.” I initially chose this cottage based on reviews that spoke of its cleanliness and the great views shown in the photos. It turned out to be exactly what we expected and much more. Imogen has thought of everything to make it like home. Right from the divinely comfortable beds, duvets, the thoughtfully provided bottle of milk, jars of coffee, tea & sugar. One almost wishes for a rainy day, to get an opportunity to spend a day in and enjoy the cottage.
My favourite part was spending the first half an hour of my day on the window seat gazing in quiet contemplation across the grand expanse of green.
However a small comment for the elderly or people with mobility issues, I wouldn't suggest this cottage if you have a problem climbing stairs- they're very steep.
“Well presented holiday cottage which lived up to expectations” Rented kipper cottage to take my very elderley disabled parents on holiday. The cottage was well equipped and comfortable and to quote my parents if needs be we don't have to go out as there is plenty to see just sitting in the sitting room looking out at the creek. Local amenities were good to keep us supplied with life's neccessities such as food and wine. Local doctor on hand which was great as my dad was ill during the last couple of days and although i didn't contact the doctor it was good to know one was available. The only downside was i was unable to take dad down to the summer house as it is too steep to get him back, but i loved it down there. All being well we hope to make a return visit in 2013.
“Great place and superb views” I stayed for seven nights along with my 6 year old son and wife. Gwendrock Twyr is well positioned, clean and well appointed with modern furnishings. Although there is no official parking at the accommodation there is space up the lane where we parked on the last night as we set off early the next morning. The rest of the holiday we parked at the Mill Pool car park (£30.30) for the week. This was a nice short walk passing / visiting the bakeries and Cornish pasty shops on the way to the car. Looe is a great place to stay. We had poor weather for June, heavy rain and gale force winds. This did not dampen our spirits and I can recommend the walk to Polperro along the coastal path, canoeing at Fowey, a visit to St Micheals Mount, The Eden Project, Lanhydrock House and the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth. Take the Torpoint Ferry to Plymouth (£1.50) and you get a free close up view of the naval docks and ships. Back in Looe AVOID "Archies" for dinner. Overpriced food. Try the Sail Loft, superb food which has been cooked and prepared well.
We enjoyed Gwendrock Twyr. I would have rated the holiday rental as excellent if it had wi-fi and a clothes airer as children tend to go through lots of clothes especially playing on the beach every night. These shouldn't be seen as negatives but future improvements! There are games, books, toys and DVD's to keep the whole family entertained without having to leave the accommodation for the whole week. There are even binoculars which my son loved taking on our walks and spotting all the birds nesting on the rooftops in Looe.
“A Country Cottage Escape” As a seniors couple we chose Arlington cottage in Blockley as a way of experiencing part of The Cotswolds away from the larger towns. Access to Morten in Marsh railway station by bus/taxi was a factor as we were not using a car. This worked well and we were able to travel to nearby Bourton on The Water (then walk to Upper and Lower Slaughter ). Chipping Campden and Broadway were also accessed by bus.
The apartment was exactly as presented on the web site with a well equipped, new bathroom , kitchen and furnishings. The village shop and cafe provided most of our catering needs and the two local pubs were friendly with good menu choices.
Contact with the owner Victoria via e mail and txt message was very helpful Check in information was given well in advance for our arrival. A tasty cake had been left for us along with some basic items for cooking. The church nearby was interesting to visit for its part in the Series Father Brown. We were very happy with our stay in the cottage which allowed us the opportunity to experience a slower pace in our tour of UK
“Absolutely beautiful” I rented the beach house for the weekend for my partners birthday in July 2011, I'd been there a few years before and it was just as beautiful as I remember. it was a complete surprise to my partner as he had no idea what we were doing or where we were going and I honestly couldn't of been happier with the reaction I got. We drove up the small lane to get to the front of the bungalow and he was rather surprised when I told him to pull into the driveway. Everything is very well presented from the front view of the property but it doesn't prepare you for what your about to walk into.
The inside of the bungalow is beautiful, everything is exactly how you would expect it to be if you were going away for the weekend. The kitchen was fully packed with everything you'd need to cook a meal and everything was clean, neatly presented and ready to use. You can easily access the bathroom and separate toilet from the main entrance. They both were also very clean and tidy. Once inside the main living area the wow factor was yet to come as all the main blindes were down so you couldn't see the stunning views. The space is perfect, great sitting area where you can sit and read or watch tv and also a dinning area where you can sit as a large family comfortably. On either side of the main living area there are two decent sized double bedrooms. I generally have trouble sleeping in unfamiliar places but this wasn't the case here. It's very hard not to be at ease and relaxed with the surroundings.
If you haven't already fallen in love with this property then once those french doors and blinds are open I don't think you can help it! There is a decked area which is perfect for sunbathing! You literally take one step off the decking and your actually on the beach. I think if you were any closer you'd be in trouble of flooding! It's a pebbled beach which wouldn't usually be my normal choice but it was very clean compared to some of the other beach destinations I've visited within the UK! The neighbours and people we came in contact with (very few as it's a very quiet place and definitely ideal if you want a romantic weekend or just to get away) were very friendly.
I honestly don't have a single bad word to say about this place, it was perfect. We will definitely be going back and would definitely recommend it to anyone that needs to see something beautiful or someone who just wants to get away and relax!
“Lovely apartment!” The apartment is very clean and homely with everything you could need. Great location as around 5 mins drive into high street and beaches. Great view from apartment in a quiet area. Would 100% recommend!
“Return Visit” Boundary Barn was enjoyed by all the family, our second visit following my youngest daughter's Hen Do in October '16. Good accommodation, great downstairs and outside space, and ideal location for the Water Parks. Had some issues with hot water supply for the number of people in the house. Would visit again.
“A beautiful house in stunning Fowey” We had a fantastic stay in Helen House. The house is very well presented and spotlessly clean with fantastic views over the river Fowey, providing all we needed for a very comfortable and pleasant stay. Fowey harbour, the lovey shops, pubs and tea rooms and the beach are in walking distance. On site parking is a bonus too!
Fowey is beautiful ! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this lovely house for your stay in beautiful Fowey.
“Fantastic place!Highly recommended!” Wow, what can I say about this absolutely amazing holiday home. It's location is amazing, just a few steps down to the estuary. Perfect for families with children. My kids loved this place & we'll definitely be returning. The owners were really lovely people & keep the home stocked with all the facilities you will ever need in a holiday home. Loved the fire pit in the garden.
“Excellent” My wife and myself couldn't have been happier with all aspects of our holiday.
The accommodation was excellent as was the town and location to north lakes and many other great spots.
Lorna and Martin were excellent hosts, only appearing if we needed them.
We have a English Bull Terrier, Arnie who was made really welcome by them, which made our stay even more special.
Thanks Lorna and Martin, we'll see you again, hopefully soon.

“Luxury apartment in a fantastic location” Despite traditionally British half-term weather, we have just returned from a very restful week staying in Coast 1.
On arrival the apartment was absolutely immaculate. All the fixtures, fittings and equipment provided are of the highest quality, and the beds and sofas extremely comfortable. We really appreciated the helpful information provided both for the apartment and the local area, and loved the subtle Jubilee decoration!
The location of the apartment is amazing - literally on the beach, with lovely walks in either direction. Watching the sun set (on the two days the weather allowed it!) was a delight.
I would highly recommend a stay at Coast 1.
“Great Apartment in Perfect Location” We stayed in Apartment 105 for a family weekend with our two daughters (19 & 22). The accommodation is clean and spacious and has everything you need - plus a few extras like books, dvds, puzzles etc. The view is fantastic and the location is great. The beach is opposite and it's only a few minutes walk into town. There is plenty to do in Weymouth. We fitted in meals out, cinema, beach, walks, Escape Room (just a two minute walk away), plus visits to nearby areas such as Portland and Lulworth. There isn't any nearby parking but we parked about 10min walk away. If you needed to park nearer then you may want to factor that cost into your holiday. I would definitely recommend this apartment - it's great value for money.
England’s fascinating history and heritage is nothing short of mindblowing. From Stonehenge to Shakespeare, the wild Yorkshire Moors to London’s West End, there’s so much love about this endlessly enchanting country.
Iconic & Inspirational
Home to some of the world’s most impressive landmarks such as Hadrian's Wall and the Houses of Parliament, England is packed with inspiring sights. For starters, you can explore ancient castles, such as Dover Castle overlooking the white cliffs, or the Tower of London on the banks of the River Thames. Admire artworks at world-famous galleries including London’s National Gallery and Birmingham’s Museum & Art Gallery. And those in pursuit of history should head to one of England’s many remarkable museums, from the Jorvik Viking Centre in York to the Ashmolean in Oxford.
Some of the best beaches in the world can be found along England’s coastline, including the fossil-studded Jurassic Coast and the Norfolk Coast - an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. To see some of the prettiest countryside in England, stay in the Cotswolds with its tapestry of chocolate-box villages. For breathtakingly beautiful views, the Peak and Lake District are must-sees. And for fields as far as the eye can see, navigate your way through the marshy fens of Lincolnshire.
Legends Of Literature
England’s rich history and landscape is the stuff of legends. When you come face-to-face with the Major Oak in Nottinghamshire’s Sherwood Forest, you’ll see just how it captures the imagination. Tintagel Castle in Cornwall, with its links to King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, is simply magical. And when you see Oxford’s university buildings, it’s like Hogwarts has landed in the Muggle world. With hundreds of cottages and holiday homes in England just waiting to be booked, what are you waiting for?
Top Destination reviews
We liked the cottage, found it was very equipped with everything you needed. It was central to lots of places to visit. There were lots of places to walk. Only downside for us was as it was hot we slept with window open, so constant sound of people walking by to the car park and the sound of traffic. So didn't sleep very well. Also the smell of the chip shop when you had windows open was not the best. But well worth the money to use as a base to explore surrounding area. …

Stayed in Southport for a week, great accommodation, very spacious, clean and well kept. Good base from which to explore the area; I grew up in Southport so for my family was an opportunity to revisit favourite places. The house had a nice size garden and is pet friendly, our Labrador enjoyed relaxing in the sun on the patio! I would thoroughly recommend this holiday home and will definitely consider staying again next time we return to the area!
