The apartment we stayed in was comfortable, warm, well equipped with great views over the river towards Romney Marsh. The owner,Chris was extremely professional to deal with and most helpful in every way.He even provided us with a bottle of bubbly upon our arrival!! We would recommend these apartments to anyone looking for a relaxing break in this historic little town.

“The perfect location” We have grandchildren of various ages and we all love it at The Roundhouse. This was our 7th visit and we have booked for next year too. The children love the trampolines and pool, we all love the tennis, the men love the pool table and table tennis. It is perfect for all ages. Sue and John are lovely hosts, always there if needed but there is no interferance. This year we took advantage of the bicycle hire. Fremington Quay is about 11/2 miles and the children can now cycle there. There are plenty of places to eat out or use the take a way from Han Chinese and the house facilities are second to none.

“Great getaway !” We have just returned from our week at Church Cottage and I just wanted to let you know that we had a lovely holiday. We were delighted with the cottage and it's location. We totally fell in love with the area, particularly the beautiful beaches and the icing on the cake was that the weather was kind to us as well ! Well worth the 7 hour drive !! Thank you and we hope to return before too long.

“clean, comfy cottage and very well equiped kitchen” Great location, the cottage has everything for a young family, sky channels, wii games, good selection of books. Rooms were spacious, just perfect for us, a family with 2 young children. Kitchen is great, everything you need is there, including foil/cling film and even baking paper if you fancy a bit of baking on holiday! Dishwasher is definitely a PLUS! Washing machine with a dryer is also great for family with young children. Garden is great too, nice decking area, nice to have tea in the garden with the sun shining. Overall, great place, would love to go back.

“Lovely week in Cornwall” Have just returned from Atlantic Reach. Had a fun holiday. The Atlantic Reach complex is lovely , very clean, entertainment good, food and drink great and all the staff on site very friendly , welcoming and helpful. We stayed in 75 Atlantic Reach with our 2 sons, and another family of 4. Rooms very spacious, house was clean and big enough for 8 people and a dog ! The weather wasn’t great for our week’s stay however it didn’t stop us from doing anything we wanted to do. Lots of things to do in Cornwall. Lovely beaches, boat trips and the Hang Loose at Eden Project is excellent including the Eden Project itself. Would highly recommend Atlantic Reach to families.

“Idyllic holiday home for a trip with children to a wonderful part of the Cotswolds” We booked this wonderful cottage for my wife and I to stay with our 9 year old and 5 year old boys for 4 nights. We arrived to a warm and very clean cottage which was tastefully furnished to a high standard. The cottage layout was family friendly with comfortable seating in the kitchen. There was a large spacious dining room and relaxing lounge. Bedrooms were warm and welcoming with plenty of bed linen and duvets. Bathrooms were all spotlessly clean with ample hot water on demand. Electricity was by meter and although we were not used to this, it worked very well and was remarkably cheap (we paid less than £1.00 per day). We found the main benefits of this cottage were ideal doorstep parking, garden area to sit or play in, and the ability to walk into the village and surrounding area away from roads. For a family there is plenty to do in the village with a well stocked supermarket. For rainy days there is an excellent swimming pool within easy walking distance. The owners were very easy to communicate with through e-mail when we were booking and they were quick and helpful when replying to queries. In summary we would thoroughly recommend this fantastic, well run cottage to families and larger groups, both for its facilities and location. We would definitely go back to this cottage if going to the area again.

“Warm, cosy and full of character.” This was our second stay at Hog Cottage. When we arrived it was lovely and warm with lamps left on to make us feel welcome. A fantastic food hamper plus other kitchen necessities too. The cottage is spotlessly clean and has some nice features and extremely comfortable. Hog Cottage is in an ideal location for exploring Derbyshire, during our stay we had fantastic walks and great food at the local pubs.

“Help out on the farm - perfect for kids” We stayed in the Coach house with our three children aged 3, 6 and 7 last week. We loved the farm. Cows, sheep, chickens and the friendly cat right outside your door. The children loved helping with feeding the chickens, herding the sheep, watching she eps toe nails being cut and how a baby calf was adopted in the cow shed next to the Coach House. The garden on the terrace at the back of the coach house is a hidden treasure with great views and we had lovely family meals there. Gateham Grange can be highly recommended. Adam Weir

“So much to do in one place!” It would be quite possible to stay here without once using a car, as there is so much to do around the farm, and the village only 10 minutes walk away. Fremington Quay was beautiful (don't rely on the bike shop there though, he advertises as open, but wasn't actually there), we swam every day, and enjoyed walks from the farm. But we had to use the car, because I couldn't resist the delights of Exmoor, and the walks on the Hangman Hills. The cottage was so comfortable and beautiful, and all that was missing was a vegetable peeler and something to poke the fire with! We came in February, and I'd like to come back in the summer and make even more of the many outdoor spaces.

Plenty to do, no problems with parking and very easy to spend time just watching the world go by through huge windows - it seems that people in Southsea jog along the front whatever the time of day or weather!! Convenient for us to visit with family too. Highly recommend this accommodation.

“Lovely Cottage” Very comfortable stay in Rose Cottage, spacious and clean. We were met on arrival and shown around. Good amenities on site, so plenty to do when not out and about, and enjoyed feeding the goats every evening. Good location for getting around. The only downside is that although we had a dog friendly cottage, they weren't allowed to toilet in the garden - (which was lovely) even though of course we would clear up after our dog ( as we have done elsewhere).

“Outstanding cottage with plenty to entertain the kids.” We received a warm welcome from the owner Sue upon our arrival, complimentary free range eggs, tea, coffee and milk in the fridge for that all important cup of tea after a long journey. Courtyard Cottage was well equipped and had everything you needed. It was very spacious for a 2 bed cottage having an en-suite to each bedroom was a huge plus for us, showers were powerful and plenty of hot water. The facilities were excellent, our first experience of a jet pool and the kids loved it, made good use of the badminton court, table tennis and kids play area. Cycled several times being so close to the Tarka Trail, we took our own bikes but we didn't know Combrew hired them out at a very reasonable rate. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cottage to family and friends we had a brilliant holiday.

“Awesome” Brilliant cottage (or 2 cottages with linking doors). Both with plenty of space and kept very well. There was 12 of us in total including 3 kids aged 3, 1 and 7 months and we all fit in perfectly. During the booking, the owners called me and were very helpful and answered all questions in very quick time, exactly what most want when looking for a holiday. Owners were just next door, which was great for when we needed anything (like to borrow their BBQ) but they were not intruding at all. Tennis court, badminton/volley ball court with lights so we played at night, trampolines, animals, small park, indoor pool with built in jacuzzi and jets, sauna, games room. Couldn't ask for much more, especially for the price. In terms of the area, there is plenty to do for both adults and kids, close to many beaches too, great days out included Exmoor Zoo and Big Sheep and Fremington Quay is a walk away which serves awesomely big scones! A great holiday made complete by a great cottage, facilities and owners. Highly recommended!

England holidays

England’s fascinating history and heritage is nothing short of mindblowing. From Stonehenge to Shakespeare, the wild Yorkshire Moors to London’s West End, there’s so much love about this endlessly enchanting country.

Iconic & Inspirational

Home to some of the world’s most impressive landmarks such as Hadrian's Wall and the Houses of Parliament, England is packed with inspiring sights. For starters, you can explore ancient castles, such as Dover Castle overlooking the white cliffs, or the Tower of London on the banks of the River Thames. Admire artworks at world-famous galleries including London’s National Gallery and Birmingham’s Museum & Art Gallery. And those in pursuit of history should head to one of England’s many remarkable museums, from the Jorvik Viking Centre in York to the Ashmolean in Oxford.

Scenic Beauty

Some of the best beaches in the world can be found along England’s coastline, including the fossil-studded Jurassic Coast and the Norfolk Coast - an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. To see some of the prettiest countryside in England, stay in the Cotswolds with its tapestry of chocolate-box villages. For breathtakingly beautiful views, the Peak and Lake District are must-sees. And for fields as far as the eye can see, navigate your way through the marshy fens of Lincolnshire.

Legends Of Literature

England’s rich history and landscape is the stuff of legends. When you come face-to-face with the Major Oak in Nottinghamshire’s Sherwood Forest, you’ll see just how it captures the imagination. Tintagel Castle in Cornwall, with its links to King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, is simply magical. And when you see Oxford’s university buildings, it’s like Hogwarts has landed in the Muggle world. With hundreds of cottages and holiday homes in England just waiting to be booked, what are you waiting for?

Lucasland Holiday Cottages - Private Pub and Hot Tub!
A wonderful place and location for a family celebration!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lucasland. We had arranged a family reunion and 80th birthday celebration, and the private pub was a great place to meet and party! I loved the different themes of each cottage and everywhere was spotless. The welcome cake and tea & coffee were a lovely touch too. The location of Lucasland in Humanby is perfect for the beaches at Filey and Humanby, and within easy reach of Bempton Cliffs and Filey Downs, but we thoroughly enjoyed staying at the cottages, enjoying the hot tub, a bbq, the pub of course, and catching up with the family in comfortable surroundings. It's the perfect place to have your own space as a family but to be together with a larger group. We had an awesome time here and hope to be back!see more

Lovely cottage and location

Park street cottage was as described and more. Spotlessly clean and everything we needed for a relaxing break. The beds are amazingly comfortable ( like sleeping on a cloud). Nice thoughtful touch of welcome gifts on arrival. Easy parking. Communication and booking very easy with Fiona. The cottage is very well situated for local cafes, pubs and shops. Just a stroll away. Nice coffee at Bordar house tea room. Enjoyed lovely lunch at Johnny Bagdads in the square. Can recommend both. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this lovely cottage and looking forward to a return visit.see more
