“Excellent property in a fantastic location” Yellowcraig Loft is a lovely property equipped to a very high standard. It has a fantastic location and is ideal as a base for a holiday in that area of Scotland. The communication with the owners was first class and we would have no hesitation in recommending this property.
“Wonderful stay” What a place! Loved every minute. Gorgeous and cosy little place with stunning views, fantastic walks and everything there for you. Immaculate inside with the comfiest bed ever and great shower. Really felt spoilt and very lucky to stay there. Very helpful and friendly hosts and if you are taking your four legged friend such a lovely thoughtful welcome pack for them! Everything is so well thought out and I cannot wait to book to go again. Neither can the dog!!
“The most beautiful house in Keswick” What a wonderful place to stay. The views from the house were breathtaking. It is beautifully appointed, spacious, warm and comfortable. Well situated for excellent walking and exploring in our favourite area. The weather was fine all week - no rain or wind with plenty of sunshine. Perfect! Many thanks to Helen. How can you bear to allow holiday guests to stay in your stunning house? A real gem - every member of the family would like to return.
PS The website provides loads of accurate information and superb photographs.
“Fantastic” Beautiful modern cottage in countryside. Perfect place for a quiet weekend away. Hot-tub was simply superb! Warm welcome with fresh eggs was a nice touch as well. Plan on coming again. Only negative was that the bed was too small for me (6ft 4 tall) but that is a problem in most places.
“Comfortable holiday accommodation” Great location and well equipped house. Child and dog friendly. Plenty space both inside and out. Loved watching all the wildlife and trains go by! Would stay again.
“Fantastic” We stayed three nights in this sweet little cottage. Found it really clean and well equipped. Minor blip was a leaky boiler but reported it to the owners Mother who was willing to sort it straight away ( owner was out of he country during our stay ) As it wasn't a major problem it was decided to wait until our three days were up to get fixed and it caused us no problems at all . Lovely extras provided is milk & wine in fridge and lovely furnishings and towels. Hope to return next year for another visit .
“Lovely accomodation, well presented, clean and charming” Very nice cottage, decorated and furnished with taste and presented very clean and homely. Very friendly and accomodating hosts, who provided everything we needed for an enjoyable stay.
“Luxury apartment in a great location” This apartment is true luxury, from the fantastic kitchen, large lounge with huge TV and the 3 bedrooms all with their own wallmounted TVs, the 3 bathrooms and not to forget the underground parking with a lift to the apartment door made this place so easy to stay. We have 3 young children and despite the weather, the apartment is so well designed that we could all be together or have some time alone in a room with our TV, internet, book etc. The kids loved the nearby chain car ferry which took us across the mouth of Poole harbour to a short drive away to the National Trust quaint thatched rooved village at the base of Corfe Castle, which had an easter hunt and the kids (+ parents) loved.
Would definatelty recommned this apartment and are looking forward to staying here in the summer to take advantage of the beaches which are a short walk away.
“Gorgeous Apartment” Stayed here last month and couldn't recommend highly enough. Such a comfy apartment with so many lovely touches. Very close to the town centre but lovely and quiet in the evenings. Would LOVE to return some day
“Stone's throw from Bakewell - great base, great house, great hottub! I will be returning!” Over Haddon is a great little village at the top of a big hill up from Bakewell. The village has a great circular walk going from the Lathkil hotel (nice to eat at - food was okay, and view amazing) and the owners kindly left the details but you can also find great walks at the following link - http://www.walkinginderbyshire.co.uk/bakewell.php. The house is great. Three bedrooms, two doubles with an ensuite and a small room with two single beds. The kitchen is enough, has the basics of what you need, with a snazzy addition of a wine and beer fridge and there is a freezer in the cupboard by the back door. There is a large open plan living / dining room, with 2 fantastic large leather sofas. Wi-fi is good and there is a SMART TV. Don't miss the games and DVDs in the cupboard that the TV sits on. The owners have left a guide with information on what you need.
The hot tub in the back is amazing and the owners come most nights to add some treatment. It was spotless and amazing to use - especially after a long day's walking.
The front garden is a sun trap and I think the owners may be looking to add some recliners which will make it even better, but a few chairs from the back were fine and lying out on your towels. There is a nice bench table in the front and table and chairs in the back.
Tips for a great visit:
- Take some basics such as tea, milk, condiments - anything you might want to use. These are not provided but the owner is looking into this, so please ask the question before you go.
- If you are a walker - print some of these out before you go - there are amazing routes
- Be aware the area is quite hilly - Over Haddon is at the top
- Do visit Bakewell - there are several car parks which are relatively expensive, but for the whole day use the long stay one over the bridge, but it closes at 6pm. For a free parking go as if towards the long stay but carry on down the road (it has sign for dead end) and go as far as you need before the yellow lines finish - at the end of this road is also the entrance for the Monsal Trail, which you should also google. I only did a short walk but when I return, I'll do the whole thing with the dogs.
- Do visit The Heights of Abraham in Matlock Bath. It is great for singles, couples and families, So much to do for kids as well, brilliant day out. Park in the train car park. Not a cheap day out but not the most expensive either - the mine tours are amazing.
- Do eat at the Packhorse in, in Longstone - only 10 mins away by car but well worth it, food is amazing.
- Do eat at Peacock - it is expensive but the food is great and have a look at the boards, they have specials and offers - got a great fish and chips pensioner deal at £7.95 for mum.
- Bear in mind that there are no shops within walking distance. It is few minutes drive down to Bakewell.
- There is a big Co-Op store in Bakewell. Go towards the long stay car park, do a circle back on yourself rather than go over the bridge and take first left (also directions to Peacock).
I think that's about it - mail if you need any more. Jonathan, the owner, was a pleasure to deal with. Enjoy
“Great Stay” Had a wonderful holiday at `Henley House'. Spacious house for the six of us but would have been comfortable for 8+, perfect location for the whole of Weymouth, Portland and beyond. Really nice to be able to walk everywhere, no need for the car. Well equiped house with nothing missing.
We stayed for the Ironman and it made the perfect base.Would highly recommend Henley House and the lovely location of Weymouth.
“Fab apartment and location with very easy access to the centre of Liverpool” Loved Hamilton Square. Apartment was well presented, very near the train station and a good selection of restaurants/cafes a short walk away. Views were stunning. The apartment was a good size and had everything you needed. Well equiped and sympathetically restored. Wifi not upto usual standard of Liverpool and couldn't get the television to work even though amplifier on. However for us this wasn't too big a problem. Would definitely stay there again.
“Fantastic, A++++” What a lovely place to stay!
We stayed in Honeysuckle cottage in early May 2013 and couldn't have wished for a better place to call home for the week. The cottage is fantastically equipped and beautifully decorated.
Our two Labrador's had a wonderful time and the careful planning of the owners meant they were able to roam free in the bottom section of the garden and courtyard in total safety.
Upon leaving we completed a questionnaire and could not think of a single negative.
The Cottage is situated down a secluded lane, yet it is only a short drive to the seaside town of Mevagissey, the main shops of St Austell etc.
We would love to return and would not hesitate to recommend this cottage to anyone looking to stay in Cornwall.
“Well set up appartment with all mod cons, close to the promenade” We stayed at this property at the height of the heat wave. Whilst the upstairs bedroom (probably unusually) was quite hot, the rest of the flat was very pleasant. Whilst the balcony area did not have a wonderful view, it was not overlooked and was a pleasant place to sit on a warm evening. We rented the flat as a couple with my husbands elderly mother. Once up the initial stairs, everything was on one level for her. We loved the idea of the through lounge, cooking area and dining room/balcony. The owners were very helpful and welcoming. The flat is actually in Bare away from the centre of Morecambe, and there is a pleasant row of local shops nearby which we frequented for the butcher, baker and newsagent. Parking at the front was useful for unloading and the allocated parking for overnight was not too difficult to access. We will definately return, sadly I don't think the weather will ever be as good on a future visit as on this occasion, however I look forward to the flat being just as good.
“Wonderful house” We stayed here to celebrate an 80th birthday, the party consisted of eleven people aged from 4 months to 80 and one dog. The house was perfectly suited to everyone with well equipped kitchen. It was an easy walk to shops, restaurants, beach and pier. Our stay lived up to our expectations and we hope to stay again.
“Relaxed and beautiful stay” Stayed at the Granary in a very sunny week in May, we had an amazing time. The Granary has all the comfort you could want and is located out from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to all amenities, the surrounding grounds are pretty and it hard not fall in love with North Cornwall. It's only a short drive to the nearest beach and Bude is only 10 minutes away. Rebecca is very helpful and made us feel really welcome, giving us some great suggestions of places to visit. Its peaceful and quiet, came back home feeling very relaxed and look forward to going back again.
“Very well equipped and luxurious” Beautiful bedrooms very well equipped kitchen and spacious living area. Everything new and clean very tasteful decor. Great views plenty of space. No complaints. I would recommend it to everyone.
“Lough Erne Resort. Enniskillen” Beautifully presented house in a stunning location. Spotlessly clean with everything you could possibly need for any length of stay. We attended a family wedding at the nearby hotel (a 3 minute walk) and found this house represented good value for money compared with booking 3 hotel rooms for 3 nights.
Lovely to return to your own house after all the celebrations and just chill out.
We shall definitely return in the summer and explore the beautiful surrounding area.
Susan the owner is very accomodation and nothing was too much trouble.....we even had a double rainbow over the Lough on our first mornings stay!
“Hidden Gem” Just returned from a short break to Cove View in Ilfracombe. Have stayed in many high quality hotels/apartments and have to say this property is up there with the best of them. Every creature comfort you could want, furnished to a very high standard, and the bed!! The comfiest nights sleep we've ever had! Amazing places to explore locally, be sure to check out the Sea Safari (ask them for an additional 1/2 hr if you want some serious addrenalin fun! Good restaurants locally and brilliant for exploring the gorgeous coastline. All in all a top stay, We will definately be back!
“This is a very well equipped and warm apartment with a great view.” We very much enjoyed our stay here. The flat, with lovely views of Crail Harbour, the Isle of May and the Firth of Forth, has all the facilities we could have wanted and is ideal for exploring St Andrews and the East Neuk of Fife. We hope to be back.
“Perfect holiday rental excellent value for money.” Undertowan is the perfect location. The bungalow is quirky but functional. Large bedrooms and well equipped kitchen. It was very clean and had a great garden for the dog. Even the outside loo and shower came in handy. Harlyn Bay is one of the best beaches in Cornwall and is only a couple of minutes walk from the bungalow. Would definitely book it again.
“Excellent stay in every way” Booked a holiday for the wife, the dog and me.
On arrival you notice the great sea views straight away.
After a long beach dog walk I could have.
A warm down in the indoor heated swimming pool.
I used the free wifi to upload photos to my blog.
The kitchen has all mod cons to cook and clear
up after a hearty breakfast.
Plenty of places to visit.
Fish and chips always tastes nicer by the sea.
Another evening we enjoyed the new Coast restaurant at Coppet beach.
Had a good nights kip in a comfy bed with en-suite.
Trying hard to find fault, but cannot.
Simply had a great time!
“Cottage and location spot on!!” Me and my family spent the last week of the summer holidays at Taunton cottage. The location is perfect nestled up a quiet side street with your own gated entrance. Literally 1 minute walk and you are at the heart of swanage right by the sea. The cottage was very comfortable. Bunk beds for my boys were a real plus!! Smart TVs and great wifi!! Knowing you had your own car park space at the end of the day was great. The adjoining Taunton house were very friendly and we heard no noise. All in all a very well presented cottage in a great location.
“A delightful cottage with lovely furnishings, in a quaint area just above the harbour.” The cottage was immaculate and beautifully furnished with care and attention. The garden was very pleasing, with sunny aspects. The situation of the cottage just above the harbour in an area full of character was delightful. We very much enjoyed our stay there.
“Wonderful large family house in a picturesque location” We stayed at Harbourview for a new year break with a large group of friends. The house was beautifully presented and easily large enough for a large group (11). The weather unfortunately was atrocious but given the large size of the house we easily entertained 5 children playing hide and seek and various games, also the very large TV kept the kids amused. The kitchen was of an extremely high standard and large enough to cook and entertain. Given the weather we only sampled the large hot tub a few times but it was a great experience hot tubbing in the rain!!
To sum up, wonderful large house in a beautiful location.
“Very comfortable, homely cottage” The Old Barn was a lovely cottage and we had a very relaxing stay. The cottage is well equipped with everything we needed and the owner's were very friendly and accommodating. The bedrooms were a nice size and comfortable, it was nice having the master bedroom on its own upstairs with its own bathroom. The home-made cake was a nice touch and was delicious.
The United Kingdom is like a delicious, four-course dinner: each dish has its own distinctive flavour, but together, they create an unforgettable experience. From Scotland’s dramatic landscapes and England’s country lanes, to the lush valleys of Wales and rugged coast of Northern Ireland, prepare to be dazzled by all the UK has to offer.
The United Kingdom boasts an array of cities to explore, all with different personalities. The ancient city walls of York and Chester reveal the England of medieval times, while industrial powerhouses-turned-nightlife-hubs like Manchester, Glasgow and Liverpool celebrate the UK’s technological pedigree. Other jewels include captivating Edinburgh, cosmopolitan Cardiff, historic Canterbury and delightful St David’s, the UK’s smallest city.
Quiet & Quaint
While the honey-coloured cottages and historic market towns of the Cotswolds never fail to win over visitors, seclusion can be found in many other corners of the UK. There’s the pure, soul-stirring beauty of England’s Lake District and Wales’ Snowdonia National Park, or the Northern Ireland’s Causeway Coast, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Coast To Coast
As an island nation, the UK seaside has a special place in the hearts of its inhabitants. Traditional amusement arcades and donkey rides are best enjoyed in resorts like Blackpool, Scarbrough and Skegness. For quiet coves and incredible seafood, Cornish towns like Padstow are rivalled only by the unbelievable beaches and produce of Scotland.

Absolutely perfect. Can't wait to go back
Beautiful quiet area. Lovely to just walk around the villages. There were six of us including my two adult sons and we were all in love with the place. It's close to Burton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold which are also beautiful. Highly recommend the Plough at nearby Ford to eat. …

Fab little bolt ho!e
Great location nice and quit . We came to stay at the cottage for a few days to get away from it all and that's what we did! The cottage has everything you could possibly need it even has a dishwasher! Which I don't have in my house! The cottage it's self was so warm and cozy and spotless .My 6ft3inch husband had a slight struggle with the head room upstairs in the bedroom . Maureen the owner came to say hi and ask if we needed any thing she is so lovely and friendly . This cottage is a gem …
A beautiful house to completely relax in.
What an amazing place to stay! We loved the week we had at the Crail Posthouse. It was very comfortable and had lovely artwork and books everywhere and so really rather felt like a home rather than a soulless holiday let. It was very clean and the kitchen had everything you could need and all of it was of an excellent standard.
The harbour is just a short walk away, the sea can be seen from the bedroom and snug windows, and the walk along the coastal path to Kingsbarns is a must.
There’s a very well stocked whole foods shop, a grocer with fresh fish daily, a butcher and a fish and chip shop all within a minute's walk. The cafe on the walk down to the harbour is fab and takes dogs at one of the tables.
David was truly dog welcoming rather than just dog friendly, it really makes a difference. Can’t wait to return. …
