“Cosy, beautifully furnished cottage, and a warm welcome.” My elderly father and I really enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back. The owner, Debbie, made us very welcome. Our anxieties that storage heaters might not suffice in the UK autumn were completely unfounded, and all rooms were very cosy. The property was in an excellent state of repair, with stylish furnishings and a fabulous collection of books. The chickens, dogs and horses were an added attraction.
“Perfect holiday rental excellent value for money.” Undertowan is the perfect location. The bungalow is quirky but functional. Large bedrooms and well equipped kitchen. It was very clean and had a great garden for the dog. Even the outside loo and shower came in handy. Harlyn Bay is one of the best beaches in Cornwall and is only a couple of minutes walk from the bungalow. Would definitely book it again.
“Could not fault the property” The property was in a very good location, and the apartment was excellent, no attention to detail was too much for Maggie Abel, she really cares about the property and was really welcoming.
“Cottage and location spot on!!” Me and my family spent the last week of the summer holidays at Taunton cottage. The location is perfect nestled up a quiet side street with your own gated entrance. Literally 1 minute walk and you are at the heart of swanage right by the sea. The cottage was very comfortable. Bunk beds for my boys were a real plus!! Smart TVs and great wifi!! Knowing you had your own car park space at the end of the day was great. The adjoining Taunton house were very friendly and we heard no noise. All in all a very well presented cottage in a great location.
“Excellent stay in every way” Booked a holiday for the wife, the dog and me.
On arrival you notice the great sea views straight away.
After a long beach dog walk I could have.
A warm down in the indoor heated swimming pool.
I used the free wifi to upload photos to my blog.
The kitchen has all mod cons to cook and clear
up after a hearty breakfast.
Plenty of places to visit.
Fish and chips always tastes nicer by the sea.
Another evening we enjoyed the new Coast restaurant at Coppet beach.
Had a good nights kip in a comfy bed with en-suite.
Trying hard to find fault, but cannot.
Simply had a great time!
“warms the 'cockleshells' of your heart” A little bit luxury away from home. The sort of place you wish you could call home! A wonderful holiday let that was made even more special by Sue's extra touches from the two course meal on arrival to the cream tea goody bag on departure. Topped off with the overall magic of Cornwall, it was truly unforgettable.
“Lovely quiet seaside getaway” We had a great relaxing week blowing away the London cobwebs , exploring Crail and the other characterful fishing villages of the East Neuk from 16 Westgate. The cottage is very comfortable and beautifully renovated, and has views out over the Forth to Berwick Law, the Bass Rock and Isle of May. Our boys (aged 14 and 11) loved being able to take the short , though steep, walk down to the beach, rocks and harbour, clambering about amongst the rock pools. when the weather closed in we enjoyed visits to the Crail Pottery, the Discovery in Dundee and the Scottish Fisheries Museum in Anstruther, and sampling the best fish and chips ever. The Fife coastal path is easily reached from the cottage and we had some good walks and saw a seal at close quarters.
The booking process was easy and the owners very helpful. Thanks for the bottle of wine and basic supplies on arrival. Also for returning the 2 items we left behind by mistake!
We would love to come back some time in warmer weather. We were glad of the central heating in the coldest April for years!
A great place to get away from it all.
“Excellent cottage in lovely location” Had a very nice week in glenhaven, Annie Beale the owner was there to greet us and assisted us move our luggage into the cottage, very helpful, little haven has a nice selection of pubs with excellent restaurant.
“Perfect for our family holiday” This was our first trip away with two children (2 1/2 and 8 months) and Seagull Cottage couldn't have suited us better. The house itself is beautiful, retaining Victorian character with all modern conveniences, very tastefully decorated and comfortable at the same time. There was plenty of room inside and in the long sunny garden for our family of four.
We spent most of our time in Broadstairs and Kingsgate which are both a short drive away (and walkable if you don't mind a long walk - Botany Bay 30 mins and Viking Bay 45 mins) and did a couple of day trips to nearby Whitsable and Sandwich.
Fully intend to book for next summer.
“Brilliant flat in a great position and beautifully kept with thoughtful welcome pack” Really enjoyed a stay here on our touring holiday. Very well decorated and furnished with plenty of space for our family. The welcome pack was really thoughtful and appreciated - could have stayed longer! Would definitely stay again!
“Mr” What a great find this place was! The property is absolutely immaculate and in a nice quiet location.
Had great fun for the week we stayed and the weather was good.
Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends!
I wish all properties were like this!
“Lovely accomodation, well presented, clean and charming” Very nice cottage, decorated and furnished with taste and presented very clean and homely. Very friendly and accomodating hosts, who provided everything we needed for an enjoyable stay.
“A lovely stay, in rain and snow and sun...” We enjoyed our stay in this comfortable, characterful house. The log burner was homely when there was snow on the ground; equally, Gunnerside Gill was beautiful in the spring sunshine. We enjoyed some lovely (if muddy) walks. The village pub provided a warm welcome, good food and a fun pub quiz on the Sunday evening.
“Chocolate box cottage in beautiful setting.” If you want an escape from the sound of cars and exchange it for the sounds of wildlife in a charming cottage with a private large garden and the facility to walk around a lake and feed the fish then this is for you. Sandford Cottage has all the comforts you would expect from a 4 star cottage and, the perfect getaway. Tips don't walk to Hawkcurch to the pub for the evening although only 2 miles its down very dark lanes at night, A visit to Beer and Branscombe is recommended.
“Wow - amasing location, fantastic house on the harbour!” We stayed for three weeks in August. Wouldnt stay anywhere else - it catered for our every need! Had friends visit from all over the UK and they all commented on the lovely house, furnishings and location of this wonderful house. We had a range of child ages, all loved the upstairs attic room with harbour views, lovely light and airy feel and having their own ensuite - a huge bonus. The bed linen was fantastic and nice comfey beds. An amasing 'social' kitchen where you can watch the world go buy in the harbour - 10/10 for location! Had Tesco to home deliver three weeks of food and wine, great one to remember even though Tesco is just up the hill. Used parking on Denis Road (5 mins walk away). Got to meet Rick Stein in his champagne rooftop bar - def recommend going on a nice day and also met Dame Judy Dench. A must is to go crabbing with children and try the pitch and putt golf up the hill. Rock was beautiful we did many a trip - just remember the very high (and fast) tides so watch the timings for the ferry and where they dock. A holiday my family will definately remember and I will go back again .....
“Great place, home from home” Excellent place to be, everything you need is provided for, perfectly located for trips, the cottage is very well equipped, was clean, the owners were very nice and prepared to give some extra service. It is really a "home from home" and I will certainly revisit the cottage.
“A delightful cottage with lovely furnishings, in a quaint area just above the harbour.” The cottage was immaculate and beautifully furnished with care and attention. The garden was very pleasing, with sunny aspects. The situation of the cottage just above the harbour in an area full of character was delightful. We very much enjoyed our stay there.
“Luxury accommodation in tranquil setting.” Our family stayed here in the spring time and it was wonderful.
The hosts couldnt have been more helpful to us and were so lovely and welcoming.
The accommodation was spotless, excellent quality and very well equipped. There was nothing at all that I could have needed for home comforts. The Coach House has been very tastefully decorated and is to a very high standard throughout which is reflected in every room.
Gill cooked for us one evening which was a welcome extra as the food was incredible and excellent value.
We would recommend The Coach House very highly for excellent accommodation and we hope to have a repeat visit in the not too distant future.
“Great Stay” Had a wonderful holiday at `Henley House'. Spacious house for the six of us but would have been comfortable for 8+, perfect location for the whole of Weymouth, Portland and beyond. Really nice to be able to walk everywhere, no need for the car. Well equiped house with nothing missing.
We stayed for the Ironman and it made the perfect base.Would highly recommend Henley House and the lovely location of Weymouth.
“Gorgeous, clean, modern house in a fabulous location” This house is also very family friendly. A high chair, travel cot, children's plates and cutlery were provided along with games suitable for the whole family. The only thing missing was a stair gate! Through information and recommendations were provided by the managers. Kashmir Indian restaurant and the ice cream at Avon Beach were enjoyed by all.
“ideal base for us to go walking along beach” stayed in apartment with elderly father so ideal with no stairs to climb and he had his own bedroom. five mins walk to beach, 1 mile walk from Bournemouth town centre. we were on walking holiday so could leave the car at apartment and just walk out. Apartment had everything we needed
“White fluffy towels and very friendly welcome” We visited Seldom Seen for the first weekend in February half term, we needed to get away and were hoping to escape some of the grey rain and floods we'd been experiencing. We last came here 15 years ago and have very fond memories of the town.
We met the owner at the sweet shop Bon Bon in Brixham- Rachel was so welcoming and walked us up to the apartment and showed us around. The children were completely won over by the goodie bags left for them (and I was quite happy with the box of fudge!)
The apartment is immaculate with crisp white sheets and fluffy towels. Little touches like a pint of milk in the fridge and tea and (proper) coffee available were very welcomed. It also had lots of facilities, washing machine, hairdryer and WiFi! So many cottages do not even have soap in the handbasins (handwash in each all three-fab!). Nothing was forgotten.
The apartment is a very short walk up some steps from Brixham centre. The view is across to the fish market and Crab Quay restaurant (we ate there and can recommend the food) with the sea view above. Lovely views of the fishing boats coming and going. The location is perfect spot for strolling around town, we walked to Breakwater beach and then on the south west coast path to Elberry Cove and back to Brixham through Churston, on the way we saw a seal- the children were amazed!
The weather held up for us to but on the drizzly day we sat in the coziness of the lounge and watched a film in front of the (electric but very realistic) fire.....
Will definitely visit again.
“Would recommend to family and friends” This cottage overlooks the harbour and is only a few minutes walk to town restaurants and the park or the beach where our dog loved to be. We thoroughly enjoyed the cliff walk from Arbroath towards Auchmithie and a trip to nearby Lunan Bay which is a beautiful beach. The cottage has plenty room for sleeping 7 comfortably. It was clean and warm had everything we needed for your stay. We were only there for 3 nights but would happily have stayed for longer.
Thank you for having us.
“Lovely stay” House was very clean and just about 5 minutes walk into Rostrevor. Aidan kindly left milk, bread and a bottle of wine. Local people were very friendly. Kilbroney Park and the Fairy Glen are superb. We would thoroughly recommend the house
“Comfortable holiday accommodation” Great location and well equipped house. Child and dog friendly. Plenty space both inside and out. Loved watching all the wildlife and trains go by! Would stay again.
“Perfect getaway” Spent a wonderful weekend at the Stepping stones cottage with my partner. The cottage was clean and cosy and in a perfect location for exploring the east coast of Anglesey and the Lligwy Ruins. We really enjoyed going to the local pub the 'kinmel arms' for something to eat and a few drink in the evening (The curries are delish). We will defiantly be booking again!! x
“A lovely cosy house, with a friendly owner” We have 2 children under 4 and this house perfectly fitted our requirements. The owner was there waiting to greet us and also help direct us to the house via mobile phone when we were nearly there! The house has been beautifully restored and stylishly decorated throughout. We are already looking at dates for our next stay and highly recommend this property!!
“Fabulous property & perfect location.” Mitchells is perfectly located for those wanting a weekend in Edinburgh - just a 5 minute walk from Princes Street and perfectly located for shops, pubs, restaurants and larger venues for example Murrayfield.
Christine & Graham have thought of everything even providing a welcome hamper and a stock fridge.
The only downside (and this is not about the property, more the location) is that it is situated next to a cobbled road, so the noise from passing traffic is exacerbated because of the cobbles, so my only word of advice would be to take earplugs.
This is a gorgeous property - well located for Edinburgh. Lovely!
The United Kingdom is like a delicious, four-course dinner: each dish has its own distinctive flavour, but together, they create an unforgettable experience. From Scotland’s dramatic landscapes and England’s country lanes, to the lush valleys of Wales and rugged coast of Northern Ireland, prepare to be dazzled by all the UK has to offer.
The United Kingdom boasts an array of cities to explore, all with different personalities. The ancient city walls of York and Chester reveal the England of medieval times, while industrial powerhouses-turned-nightlife-hubs like Manchester, Glasgow and Liverpool celebrate the UK’s technological pedigree. Other jewels include captivating Edinburgh, cosmopolitan Cardiff, historic Canterbury and delightful St David’s, the UK’s smallest city.
Quiet & Quaint
While the honey-coloured cottages and historic market towns of the Cotswolds never fail to win over visitors, seclusion can be found in many other corners of the UK. There’s the pure, soul-stirring beauty of England’s Lake District and Wales’ Snowdonia National Park, or the Northern Ireland’s Causeway Coast, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Coast To Coast
As an island nation, the UK seaside has a special place in the hearts of its inhabitants. Traditional amusement arcades and donkey rides are best enjoyed in resorts like Blackpool, Scarbrough and Skegness. For quiet coves and incredible seafood, Cornish towns like Padstow are rivalled only by the unbelievable beaches and produce of Scotland.

Bourne End House
Brilliant place for a large family get-together
We have just enjoyed a wonderful family weekend at Bourne End House within 5 minutes' walk of the beach. Our age group was 4 to 60+ and there was something for everyone. The house was beautifully dressed for Christmas. The welcome was warm with home-made cake upon our arrival. Games room, hot-tub, lovely spaces to relax. Would thoroughly recommend! …

Situated just 15 minutes away from the centre of Edinburgh, this apartment is perfect. Everything that you could wish for a home away from home. Trefonen House, Beachfront with hot tub and BBQ Hut
Gem of the Valley
This is a very well equipped house with superb views all round.
First, hidden away but yet easy to find. Rural but yet convenient with shops just 15 min drive away.
Charateristic is not how I would describe it but it has all you need for a weekend get away. Total of 17 of us, 8 kids and 9 adults. The kids had a great playground, trampoline and a football goal. They can entertain themselves.
For the dads, we had a man cave, aka bbq house. We had a fire, we bbq-ed and we drank.
For the mums, hot tub.
The beach is literally a stone throw away, its own gate to get to it.
I cannot think of any negatives at all. We didnt need to get anything apart from food, drinks and wood.
The master bedroom was amazing with its own lounge bit and sofa.
As holiday house/cottage go, you dont get better than this, and we have been to quite a few. We book every year as a group to go away.
Bearing in mind, we were here for one of the wettest and windiest weekend and it was still good.
A few suggestions which I will feedback if you‘d like them. Small things, nothing negative. …

Lily Rose Cottage - Luxury barn conversion in the heart of Broadway village
The perfect romantic getaway!
We have always stayed in various hotels in Broadway for our annual pre-Christmas visit, but this time we decided to try something different. Lily Rose Cottage looked really cute and offered us way more space and privacy than a hotel room, and at a very competitive price.
The photos on the website had us really excited about staying there, but they really do not do the cottage justice. It’s beautifully presented from the outside with plenty of Cotswold stone on view in the cute courtyard, which will really come into its own during the summer months.
But it’s the welcome you get once inside that really takes your breath away. No expense has been spared on the cottage. It looks and feels very high end. It’s got so many technical gadgets too, which makes it a fun and practical place to stay.
The lounge is lovely, with comfy seating, a large tv (not that we used it) and a log burner for a really romantic touch.
In between the lounge and the spacious dinning area, our hosts had erected and decorated a full size Christmas tree, which really added to the Christmas spirit.
The kitchen was clean, Morden and very well equipped. Perfect for making tea and toast, or a full on gourmet dinner. There is also a separate utility room if you need to do any washing.
The bedroom is large and tastefullly decorated, with plenty of storage space and a very comfortable bed. The en-suite is really nice, with a full size bath, and a walk in shower.
It’s the attention to detail is what sets Lily Rose cottage from anywhere else we have stayed before, and we will definitely be back. We would really recommend staying here if you get the chance. …
