“Best vaccation ever.” Perfectly situated in the hills above Cannes, Golfe Juan and Vallauris.
Breathtakin view over the Gulf and the hills.
Perfect poolarea and a very nice patio outside the kitchen. We spent many hours there.
The house is very well kept and lacks no kitchen utensils or equippment.
“Excellent property ideally located for exploring the d-day landing sites” We found the property nice and quiet. The house was well equipped with everything we needed and was nice and clean (No smokers and no pets). One of the reasons we chose this property was its central location relative to the d-day landing sites and we were not disappointed. We took our 8 year old grandchild and he made good use of the shared indoor swimming pool. Next time we stay here we will bring our golf clubs (the course looks outstanding and the greens look very fast!)
I would suggest some sort of storage for food in the kitchen - we had to keep all ours on the large dinning table.
“Amazing Gite, In A Beautiful Setting” I stayed here with my girlfriend and two of my friends. We decided to book La Girode because of the great location, the picturesque setting and the fantastic garden.
Arrival was simple, and the managing agent arranged for us to collect keys even though we arrived on an evening Ryanair flight on a Saturday.
Bergerac airport is about 1 hour drive, and the gite easily found with GPS.
The beds were comfy, the kitchen perfectly equipped to cook meals at home, and with a BBQ on the patio you have a perfect combination!
The swimming pool is warm enough to use on overcast days, and the garden big enough to play rounders, ball games and hide and seek!
Access to a Carrefour local is approximately 1km away, with adequate supply of beer, wine and food. The local village bakery is fantastic for fresh bread and croissants.
Access to many of the sites and attractions of the Dordogne are on the door step, make sure you visit Rouffignac Cave, and Canoeing on the local rivers is a great day out!
We very much hope to re visit again sometime!
“perfect” My wife, her adult daughter, and I spent a week here. It was absolutely perfect. Unfortunately the weather wasn't. But we still had a wonderful visit. After arriving in Paris on an early morning flight from the states, we picked up a rental car and headed to Honfleur. We arrived late morning and found Sue still cleaning. We were able to park our car in the unit's secure parking space with all our belongings, and immediately headed into town, to explore while Sue finished. She explained about the hot water problem, which was easily remedied by checking the circuit braker and re-setting it if it had switched off. We had absolutely no problem having as much hot water as we needed.
Nor was the lack of wi-fi a problem for us, since Judy's daughter had a Smart phone, and could connect with it. Besids, our idea of a vacation is to get away from all that.
The house, layout worked perfectly for us, and the location couldn't have been better - far enogh away from the town center to be quiet, but close enough to walk to every morning to pick up a fresh bagette, sit by the harbor for a coffee and pastry breakfast.
We used the house as a base for day trips to Ruen, Etretat, and Deauville.
The house was equipped nicely for cooking, although we only cooked two dinners. We recommend trying L'homme d'Bois but pass on Ill Parasole. Why eat mediocre/poor Italian food when in France?
“Highly recommended!” We have spent a fantastic mini break in Paris staying in Nicolas absolutely stunning apartment. The apartment itself is spacious with beautiful period furniture and finishings, modern kitchen and bathroom and it is extremely clean, but what makes it special is the service our host provided. From the booking process till the day we left Nicolas was very helpful and at our disposal. All the small touches like welcome text upon our arrival, free refreshments in the apartment (fresh fruit, wine, water, nibbles and warm breakfast in the morning ) made our stay even more enjoyable.Nicolas and his mother really make you feel at home and even act as tourist guides! We are definitely coming back and would highly recommend it to anyone!
“Lovely place for a relaxing holiday” This is a lovely gite, clean, well-equipped and quiet. Angela and Derek are very welcoming and helpful and will always do their best to meet any needs. We stayed two weeks, we swam in the gorgeous pool every day, and found the water warm even when it rained for a couple of days. Being able to hire a bike on site was great, and the croissants and pizzas in the village are brilliant. All in all, a really friendly, relaxing place, and we will go back.
With a laid-back love of bread, cake, cheese, pastry, wine, and life in general, no wonder France wins over all who visit her. As you explore fields of vineyards, historic chateaux, lively cities and sleepy towns, you’ll soon see just how much there is to discover.
Where To Begin
France has a landscape as rich and varied as its history. The rural paradise of Provence lies in the southeast, meeting the Mediterranean coast, while the peaks of the Alps provide a playground of pistes for skiers, and endless dramatic scenery. Lush river valleys, including those of the Loire and Dordogne, offer kayaking, rafting, walking and more activities. If vibrant city breaks are more to your taste, then gastronomic Lyon, historic Marseille and chic Paris, don’t disappoint.
To The Coast
Many of France’s seaside resorts flourished when wealthy city-dwellers escaped during the summer months. In the north, discover the nostalgic towns of Le Touquet and Deauville, with their picturesque charm and pretty harbours. In the south, enjoy the sophisticated shores of Cannes, St Tropez and Villefranche-sur-mer, where the Mediterranean’s warm waters are waiting on the French Riviera.
The Grape & The Grain
Wherever you find yourself in la Belle France, the day isn’t complete without a trip to the boulangerie. With at least one traditional bakery in virtually every town and village, the artisan tradition is well and truly alive here. Tables in town markets heave under piles of the freshest local produce imaginable: saucisson, fromage and more regional delicacies. And let’s not forget France’s passion for wine: Bordeaux’s Medoc region alone boasts over 60 châteaux, all producing some of the world’s favourite wines.

We had a lovely stay at Beau Rivage. The house catered exceptionally well for children and the playroom was fantastic! There is lots to do close by and would highly recommend visiting the water park and going body boarding on the nearby beach. We had a lovely meal in the local village restaurant which again catered well for children. Thank you Donna for a wonderful stay! …
Spacious chalet with terrace & Wifi
A well equipped chalet in a traditional Pyrenees mountain village!
The chalet is situated in a traditional Pyrenees village with stunning views - a perfect base to explore the local area. The location is perfect for cyclists with several classic Tour de France cols within easy read. We found lots to do locally - walking, canyoning, rafting, swimming and amazing caves! Many villages celebrate their ‘fetes’ during the summer -which give a glimpse in to traditional culture. Spain is just half an hour away - the journey is well worth making.
The chalet was clean, well equipt and spacious. The owner visited to make sure we settled in, his guide to local restaurants, shops etc was helpful - the local resturant Le Pic Assiette was outstanding. The views from the chalet were fantastic, especially sat on the decking on a summers evening - the balcony is a sun trap. The jacuzzi, dvd sound system and WiFi were very popular with our teenagers!
We would unreservedly recommend this property and will definitely return! …
Beautiful villa, pool/views near Lac de St Cassien
Superb villa for relaxing family holiday!!
What a wonderful place! Lovely clean accommodation, amazing terrace to eat and sit on and a great pool! Three double bedrooms mean it's ideal for a family of 4!
Ideal location as situated within walking distance of local village (Montauroux) which has two superb restaurants and easy to drive to other local villages such as Fayence and Seillans. The Lac de St Cassien is also just down the road, ideal for swimming and hiring pedalos and larger town of Grasse only 40 minutes. Local supermarket, Le Clerc, has everything you want, including a small British section if you are missing your digestive biscuits!!
The owner Katherine, although not resident, is very helpful and informative prior to the holiday and contactable on the phone if required whilst you are there.
Highly recommended and we are already looking to re-book!! …
Self catering Gite with private pool.
Perfect Relaxing Stay and Fantastic Hosts/Owners
Just arrived back home to a wet and miserable looking N.Ireland, a far cry from what we have left behind.
We have visited this area of France several times before and the location is great for getting out and about, with a varied selection of good restaurants close by.
The Gite is all you could ever want and is immaculately presented and stocked with everything you will need to keep you going for your stay. The pool area is fantastic and one of the best pools we have had on previous stays in the area, with plenty of sunbeds, chairs and dining areas along with a built in BBQ.
The garden areas are kept clean and well maintained by Sarah & Steve the Owners who live on site which isn't a problem at all, they will give you as much space and privacy as you want but are there if you need anything, they are fantastic hosts and should be very proud of what they have done with the place.
We loved the place that much we have rebooked for another 3 weeks next year;-) …
Lovely quiet campsite with simple accommodation - Gorgeous
This is a lovely and quiet campsite with all the amenites on site... our 8 year old had a wonderful time in the swimming pool and in the Canoe on the river. There is a road passing by with occasional traffic but that does not detract from the quiet and peacefulness. Karen was extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation was simple and adequate for the three of us. We spent many an evening in our hammock overlooking the river and having wonderful barbeques. There are so many lovely places to visit in this area; we had a wonderful holiday here. …

An enjoyable & relaxing stay in the Loire Valley
Our 4 night stay at Le Poirier was very pleasant. It was so relaxing dining by the pool after a day long visiting of the Loire châteaux. The gite is very well equipped thanks to the owners attentive approach. Felicity and Chris are very welcoming without being intrusive and the food items left for our arrival incl some home grown veg were very much appreciated.
We definitely recommend this gite for those seeking a peaceful break amongst nature yet not far from the main Loire sites. …
