France cottages: Stay in luxury France cottages with Holidaylettings.co.uk
“Recommend a stay in the summer season” Having only visited off season when the village is very quiet and a stay consists of walks, markets, good meals out and cosy evenings, it was great to experience the summer madness. If you ignore the miniature trains , the rest is lovely; bigger markets, quality buskers, shops selling miniature knights Templar, the chance to look around the impressive bastide buildings, and, most importantly the chance for a daily swim in the Dordogne which is 10 minutes away by car, 20 minutes on foot. Read the other review about the noisy neighbours, and thankfully they weren't there during my weeks stay so we enjoyed quiet days and evenings eating dinner in the garden. The house was as comfortable in summer as it had been in winter....a welcome stoney-cool retreat from the heat.
“Amazing Space to Stay In” This is a fantastic spot! Beautiful property and amazing Cottage to rent. Was perfect for my retreat and i will be coming back. Ram and Paula are top notch hosts.
“Amazing Gite, In A Beautiful Setting” I stayed here with my girlfriend and two of my friends. We decided to book La Girode because of the great location, the picturesque setting and the fantastic garden.
Arrival was simple, and the managing agent arranged for us to collect keys even though we arrived on an evening Ryanair flight on a Saturday.
Bergerac airport is about 1 hour drive, and the gite easily found with GPS.
The beds were comfy, the kitchen perfectly equipped to cook meals at home, and with a BBQ on the patio you have a perfect combination!
The swimming pool is warm enough to use on overcast days, and the garden big enough to play rounders, ball games and hide and seek!
Access to a Carrefour local is approximately 1km away, with adequate supply of beer, wine and food. The local village bakery is fantastic for fresh bread and croissants.
Access to many of the sites and attractions of the Dordogne are on the door step, make sure you visit Rouffignac Cave, and Canoeing on the local rivers is a great day out!
We very much hope to re visit again sometime!
“An amazing and wonderful place to stay!” We only had a week but it was a very special week, our first time in the Dordogne was made into an extra special one by staying in this fairytale cottage with the owners providing everything that you would want or need for a brilliant holiday they were the perfect hosts! The cottage was perfect, clean and very comfortable not to mention the pool which was an added bonus we would be very happy to recommend this beautiful cottage and location for a relaxing holiday!
“Idyllic location” We stayed for two weeks at Easter time. The cottage is most charming and practical in a super location perfect for exploring the virtues of the island in all directions. We shall definitely return.
“Les Parillers has to be the best holiday property we have ever visited!” Les Parillers is a paradise in the country. With excellent facilities, and surrounded by a wonderful 4 acre garden with mature trees and a moat with fish, frogs and lizards. So quiet and restful at any time of day or evening. A lovely private pool area to enjoy as a family.
The pool and grounds are kept in great condition by a local farmer who is very helpful.
Plenty of places to visit within easy driving distance, and in fact the new motorway system from Caen (Ouisterham comes within a few minutes drive of Prescigne, the local village, making access easy. Our children and grandchildren have voted it the best yet, and we hope to visit again in the future.
