“Beautiful house, gorgeous views and excellently positioned for local activities!” We had a fabulous time staying at La Bidonne. The house itself is full of character and rustic charm and has plenty of space for 8. We also enjoyed the cool interior it offered when it was a bit too baking outside! The pool has a wonderful view of the nearby village and vineyards, so many relaxing hours were spent down there! The house is well equipped with everything you need and Bergerac / large supermarkets aren't far away. Also at hand is wine tasting and boulangeries for morning bread. The McMahon Turners were incredibly helpful and friendly and made booking and organising the trip an easy and pleasant experience. I'd highly recommend a stay here!

“Very comfortable” We had a very nice time in the house and near the pool. Pool alarm for children is a secure option we appreciated. We didn't need to cary too much things with us : babychair and 2 beds for little children were already there.

“Gorgeous accommodation, splendid location” Apart from the lovely and spacious house, it's most complete equipment and it's garden and pool with impressive views, it's the location that makes this property unique. Easy walks through quiet countryside start right at your front door. Short car rides will take you to other walks (some marked), f.e. along the river Gave d'Oloron, and villages worth a stroll. Day trips will get you to impressive mountainous areas in the Pyrénées, into Spain as well. To get an inspiring impression of the immediate surroundings: go to Google Maps and search for Monein, France. Go West on D2 and south on the second road left: Castet/Chemin de Coustette. Go South as far as Chemin de Crêtes and look back North, the first house on the left of the road with it's pool is Les Vieux Chênes. Wine lovers will appreciate the local appellation Jurancon moelleux, a semi-sweet white. The supposedly best wine maker of this variety has it's farm within walking distance. Tasting and buying at Domaine Cauhapé: www.jurancon-cauhape.com. The dry version is also very rich and pleasant. Of course they come with a price: from reasonable to prohibitive. The sweet ones (moelleux) should be tasted with a blue cheese like Bleu d'Auvergne or Fourme d'Ambert - you will be delighted. Our week in May proved too short and we would certainly like to get back some time...

“A wonderful house” This is our second visit to Maison Du Puits and it didn’t disappoint again! This time we took the upgrade and rented Le Petit Logis at the same time so we could bring Jane’s Mum and Dad. Well it worked out perfectly as they are early to bed early to rise type people so they had their own space in the morning and the evening and joined us on day trips and for dinner most nights. It was also great for the pool with it being tucked round the back, nice and handy for that cool beer!! The weather was glorious for the whole time except one day when there was a storm but the kids loved that! I would recommend this house for a family who want to have a nice big chunky property with all the comforts from home like a dishwasher, washing machine, big tv with English channels etc, and choose to share the pool with only a couple right round the back and out of the way or do what we did and take it all privately. We had a wonderful holiday and will be back!!

“The perfect holiday home” We couldn't recommend this holiday home highly enough! We had a perfect week, in a beautiful house, along with 3 teenage children and grandparents. The house was clean, comfortable, stylishly decorated and extremely well-equipped. The enclosed garden made an ideal place to eat and relax. The highlight of our holiday was cycling on the flat and scenic cycle paths that are extensive throughout the island and being able to visit the towns and villages on two wheels! As the owner recommended, we were able to have the rented bicycles delivered to the house at the start of the holiday. The close proximity to a beautiful beach also made this an ideal holiday base.

“Large house in good location” On the market square of Richileu so in the centre of things in this quiet and friendly town. A boulangerie and supermarket within yards. A large house with a number of floors reached by an ancient staircase. We travelled with young adult daughters who found space enough to get along. Crossing a courtyard to reach 'your' part of the house and therefore very quiet. A small garden which is not overlooked. No problem with parking even during the vintage car fete our first weekend. In a good position to reach Loire chateaux. Ate the best meal we've had in France for years and so of the holiday at Fosse St Ange, just off the square and worth the trip just for that!

“Great place to relax at a very nice resort and to explore Provence” We really enjoyed our two week stay at Pont Royal Villa. Situated at a very nice vacation resort between Aix en Provence and Avignon, this place was great both for seeing different parts of Bouches-du-Rhone and Vaucluse regions of Provence, and for relaxation at the nice pools nearby. Our kids aged 1.5, 8 and 9 years old also enjoyed our vacation. The villa was well equiped and well kept, and we had very friendly contacts with the owner. I can definately recommend this place for a vacation in Provence!

“Everybody enjoyed the holiday” The plot was large enough that the kids could play without disturbing everyone. Bikes were provided, that meant the kids could go off cycling - something they really enjoyed and did every day. The pool was 'fresh' due to the time of the year and not being heated, but was very large and didn't stop everyone going in each day. There was also table tennis, darts and basketball available in an outside barn. The house itself was full of character and well furnished. No issues there, and the inclusion of the wi-fi kept the kids (and father!) happy. Lovely peaceful location allowed cycling or walks around the local area, with a supermarket 5mins drive away to get supplies. We booked this holiday as a last minute break, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Anne-Marie was very helpful with directions and advice, and the local assistance, Eric, was helpful and friendly. Plus his English was excellent - a bonus as my French is terrible!

“What could be better than a holiday in a French Chateau?” This house is very special with its spacious rooms and wonderful gardens. It is elegant and very traditional with its amazing kitchen and utility rooms all with beautiful tiling on the floors. The sitting rooms are comfortable and large with fireplaces and the whole house has charm with its unusual photographs and cinema posters. We were reluctant to wander far being so at home in this welcoming house but we did take trips to Montreuil (with its ramparts), Le Touquet (with its shops and restaurants) and the beach at Berck. It was a lovely holiday and we hope to go back in the future.

“Brilliant and so well equipped!” Excellent villa with everything you could possibly imagine provided. Just a short drive from beautiful beaches and the "not to be missed" town of Collioure with all it's character, atmosphere and great restaurants. The pool area is very well appointed and Pierre keeps an eye on the filter system and keeps it clean. The air conditioning keeps things very comfortable in the warm summer weather Our 4 children also thoroughly enjoyed staying here - plenty of room both inside and out.

“Breathtaking setting with very comfortable and well equipped accommodation.” The view is breathtaking over the lush and rolling vineyards the imposing Roche de Soluté. The buildings are very old so the walls are extremely thick and the rooms very comfortable with high quality attractive sturdy furniture and bedding. There are beautiful oak floors throughout with massive exposed beams. It’s really very charming but without the cobwebs that you would expect of a place with so much character. It’s bring, clean and airy but dripping in charm. We've been twice and cannot wait to go bacK

“Absolutely Amazing!” We stayed at this holiday villa for 9 days and it was easily the best holiday we have had in a really long time! The house is very big and as we were only two it was amazing to have so much space! It has all the mod cons you might need. The kitchen is fully equipped and it was easy to cook here which is what we did for most of our stay. The pool is also spectacular and was clean and fresh. The house is very convenveniently located to get to bigger villages/towns. Quillan is just a 5minute drive away down the hill (closest grocer) and also has a fair few lovely restaurants to sample. (Le Palace next to the river comes highly recommended). We drove to most of the Chateu in the region (Le Renne, Montsegur, Puilaurens, Quiribus, Peyerpetuse) which was a very good intense experience! We also visited a vineyard where we tasted some delicious wines and then also stayed for a Michelin starred lunch at Domain Gayda near Bruggaroilles. Lastly we even went on a day trip to Barcelona which I would also strongly recommend. We ate paella and swam in the Med! The best thing about the trips out however, is coming back to the villa and as you drive up into the drive way the view will take your breath away... every time!

“Well equiped, good scenic location for South & West Brittany exploration” Just spent a sunny August week in this great accommodation (probably the best equipped property we have stayed at out of 10 or so over last few years). Well laid out for our twin family holiday with children aged 10-13. Rural location, short walks to local shop and located in a pretty scenic area. We found the property to be an ideal base to explore inland areas and the coast to the West and South. Many interesting towns are located within 20-30 miles and we managed to spend our mornings sight-seeing in Breton villages & towns and our afternoons lazing & swimming at nearby beaches. We toured every day for a week and returned to Plymouth (from Roscoff 75 mins away) on one tank of diesel! Plenty of local information contained within the visitors books. We would have no hesitation recommending this property - Note: stairs are quite steep.
