“lovely minibreak.” Pod was not 100% wind poof but we where warm had a lovely mini break away. The shower block does need some attention please. the shower was cold water only and the toilets seat was loose, we had to just wash in the basin as that had lovely warm water. We did have a lovely stay and will be back at a later date.

“Cosy and friendly” We booked the 2 cottages and they removed a door to make them straight through. The cottages had everything we needed and was plenty of room.yes they need a lick of paint and a tidy up but apart from that they are lovely. A 20 minute walk takes you into Whitby. It's about 6 pound to get back by taxi. I would recommend for families and would book again.

“Fab little place” We booked our overnight stay last minute in February half term and we weren’t disappointed!! The apartment was perfect for what we needed, and to be honest I could’ve stayed there a few more nights. It’s about a 2 minute drive into Whitby and if we’d stayed longer and the weather was better we would’ve walked. The apartment was clean, tidy and well set out. There’s a view of the abbey from the living room and bedroom windows. There’s a Sainsbury’s and Aldi at the end of the road which was ideal. I wouldn’t hesitate to book in here again.

“perfect location” We booked only a few weeks before with limited options, this was one of the few properties that accommodate the 5 of us its a reasonable price for the school holidays monday to friday. When we arrived we were slightly worried when we hit the communal hallway, however, dont let that put you off. The flat is clean, tidy and is well looked after. there was hand sanitiser provided as well as an abundance of cleaning products, even a washer. we'd definitely stay here again and would recommend to others. when we arrived home we received a message to say we had left some thing behind and the owner took time out to post it back to us. excellent service, and a very friendly lady.

“Escape From The Crowds.” Well I finally found found The Cottage after making three about turns on the road. Down a wee country track, we were met by Ingid, Matt and Knight Arthur...I grid offered to help me out with buying a couple of items for when Shen went shopping , so kind, very nice pleasant people.... Arthur promptly showed us around...my two dogs scurried off noses to the ground then finally the kettle went on..... On the Monday I bought fire requirements, and on Monday night I lit a fire, later adding a couple of logs. How lovely! Took us back to our childhood, toasting tea cakes at the fireside. My cousin 86yrs old slept excellently....I less so, as I found the double bed a little hard....I'm used to a softer bed, but as the week went on I adjusted and was happy to wander off in my dreams... Some lovely areas for walking, with breath taking countryside and fabulous vistas... Our more smiley moments were coming across roadside barrows selling all kinds of goodies...made the obligatory visit to Whitby Abbey, Scarborough, Ryedale Museum at Hutton-le-Hole absolutely a must...finishing off with a mighty tasty meal at the pub next to the museum. While staying at the cottage I bought my vegetables from the top farm, the most yummy carrots I've tasted for a long time...but a huge selection of fruit and veg, eggs too.... It's peaceful, quiet, and dark with a clear sky so star gazing was an option too...Outdoor seating, if you delight in a glass of wine at the end of the day.... Cheers Ingrid, Matt (hope you're back too good health) and to Knight Arthur...because that's just what you are...A Knight to the Rescue, Thank You Arthur, hope you made the Rugby Team ....take care all of you. “Fantastic” Had a fantastic mini break here at Owl Barn Cottage. Margaret and Barry were very accommodating and ensured that we had settled in okay. The cottage is beautiful and perfect for a relaxing get away. The hot tub and wood burner are both a perfect added extra to the lovely accommodation and make your mini break that extra special. York is approx 8 miles away, cost £20 in a taxi however if you drive there is a park and ride a few miles down the road and the bus is £5 straight in York centre. Cannot compliment this place enough. We will be returning in the future and would definitely recommend Owl Barn to anyone who wants to get away for a mini break and a visit into York.

“Good location for a Scarborough break” Located at a high point close to the castle, the view from the main living area is panoramic. Great to cook, sit and eat or relax with an every changing scene. We found all we needed to properly self-cater in the kitchen area. The flat was generally clean and tidy, except for the oven, which needed a deep clean. You don`t get a great view without some effort and the walk back uphill may tax some guests. Our main gripe was the lack of parking spaces. We were loath to move the car once we had parked as every available spot was taken up the moment a space came available.

“Everything you could wish for and more.” This is an excellent cottage to stay in, especially if you have a dog with you. We couldn't have been made to feel more welcome. The view is wonderful and sitting outside in the evening or the morning was idyllic. It was comfortable, remarkably clean and all appliances worked well. We couldn't have wanted for more, except more time to spend at Cragg Hall View.

“Excellent apartment in the city center overlooking the river.” This is a first class apartment in the center of York. Everything needed was supplied and the owners kindly provided a starter pack of essentials and some nice extras which were greatly appreciated. Communication with the owners could not be faulted and we were greeted on arrival and shown round the apartment. Parking is in a designated space which is bonus in a city center location. Despite the close proximity to the city the apartment was extremely quite with no noise from outside or other residents in the block. We have stayed in a number of apartments over the years and can genuinely say this is one of the best we have stayed in. Thanks to Sue and John for your hospitality.

“Well appointed cottage in quiet location but near to Filey town & seafront” Lovely stay at this dog-friendly cottage in a nice, quiet location but very close to all amenities and attractions of Filey town and with easy access to Scarborough. A great base from which you can explore the delights of the North Yorkshire coast and moors. The cottage is a stables conversion done to a high standard with all mod cons. The bathrooms in particular are impressive. Addition of a wifi connection would complete this though, as mobile reception and internet was a bit variable on our network (EE), but you don't come here to browse the internet and it was possible to gain a signal for what we needed. Would definitely recommend this accommodation to anyone looking to discover this area.

“Lovely clean remote retreat” The cottage was a very nice remote retreat. It was about 5 miles from hebden bridge. The cottage was very clean and catered for all the family and more importantly our dog. The owner Helen was very good at communication and contacted me as soon as I booked. She left us all the bare essentials milk, tea, coffee, wine and a dog treat and towel. She couldn't have done anything else to welcome us. The cottage was on a busy road but had amazing views we woke up to each day and the only reason I marked it 4 stars.

“Relaxed & Chilled.” The Best thing I can say about our hosts Louise & Steve was that we never saw them apart from collecting and returning the keys. Let me explain more on this - we were met by our friendly and amicable hosts who explained how the hot tub worked, showed us inside the summer house where the bbq was and things such as where beach & nearby pubs were. We were advised if we needed anything at all and just ask, as I started didn't need to as EVERYTHING was perfect. We came for 3 stress free night's and that is exactly what we got, and was heavenly. The hot tub was cleaned daily and used up to 3 times a day by us and was great and even our autistic son adored it which was a real bonus. What Louise & Steve have created is a little haven with tremendous attention to detail, from the lights on the external trees to the little fairy tree house. The garden was large and ideal for my dog but so was the beach a gentle 10 mins stroll down the road. I highly recommend this stay as long as you want to chill & relax, if you are used to being constantly on the go this is a must to wind down. I had a chat with Louise on departure and told her to expect another visit from us - it was heavenly, and highly recommend.

“Comfortable, relaxing break” We stayed for 3 nights in December, although it was chilly outside, when we arrived the cottage was warm and cosy. There were also Christmas lights and a Christmas tree which made it feel very festive. The cottage had all we needed and I especially loved having a larder to keep everything out of the way. We all made use of the lovely roll top bath which was nice for a change, rather than a quick shower which we usually have at home. The original features, wood panelling, and secret cupboards were all amazing little features and the kids loved this. We all enjoyed the coal fire too. We were very sad to leave and look forward to returning next year! Great communication with the owner and caretaker very efficient too!

Lots of nice bars and place to eat within a stones throw. Many thanks on letting us rent your beautiful property and we will definitely book again.

“Perfect for couples” This was our second stay at Old Low Moor Farm but our first in The Granary. It certainly didn’t disappoint! From the very warm welcome from Karen and Jeff to the thoughtful welcome basket left for us. It’s spotlessly clean and finished to a very high standard. The Granary has everything you need for your stay with plenty of space for two (and a cot if needed) and is very warm and comfortable. The location is really peaceful but convenient for the A19/A1M should you wish to explore everything that the surrounding area has to offer. We can also recommend the Dog & Gun in the village although you definitely need to book ahead. We love this place so much that we are returning over Xmas and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this little gem!

“Fabulous well equiped cottage in stunning location” The owners were very friendly and welcoming and the cottage was very cosy and warm which was fantastic as the weather was cold and blustery and a bit rainy at times. It was beautifully furnished and decorated with fabulous views out across the Worth valley. Moorland walks straight from the door and close to Howarth with the Bronte Parsonage Museum, lovely shops and pubs. We happened to be there for the steam punk week-end in Howarth with people in Victorian dress which was fun! We had a birthday event with friends in Lytham St Annes and a lunch at the Inn at Whitewell so had the opportunity to travel over the hills and valleys on the scenic route to the Forest of Bowland and beyond. Definitely stay again!

“Wondeful holiday with bonus of accessible accommodation” Having looked endlessly for accessible accommodation for an accompanied wheelchair user both through tourist information in the North Yorkshire area and searches online I was delighted to come across The Shippen which was due for completion mid 2018. Making contact with the owners as it approached completion they were extremely helpful in checking the property was going to be suitable before proceeding with booking and provided lots of photos. On arrival we absolutely weren't disappointed and myself and family members enjoyed one of the nicest weeks holiday we have had in a long while helped by the warm late summer sunshine. Both Karen and Jeff were extremely helpful and welcoming, ensuring everything was so my independence could be maximised during my stay given people with different levels of impairment have different needs etc. The property was spotlessly clean and modern and the large arched windows made it a lovely light space. As the weather was so pleasant we spent most of the daytime hours visiting the local area in which there was so much to see but local towns of Thirst and Northallerton are only a short distance away for those wanting to just chill out in this lovely quiet location, each cottage having its own outdoor seating area and other facilities on site to enjoy if you wish. As the weather was kind to us we had no issues with heating but with a woodburner all set to be installed this would be a really cosy place to come away and relax in peaceful surroundings during the colder months. The generous welcome hamper was a real treat and a few fridge essentials meant we could make a cup of tea on arrival. Most definitely we are hoping to re visit in 2019 but anyone considering booking this property you won't be disappointed and whilst it is suitable for individuals with mobility problems with wide doorways and a wet room it is equally suitable for able bodied with no special modifications making it appear as a 'disabled' property. Finally, also appreciated was the flexibility offered with travel dates and there being no specific requirement to book for a full 7 days and from a set date as is often the case. Many thanks Karen and Jeff for making us feel so welcome and we look forward to our return visit as I need to revisit the arcades of south bay Scarborough !
