“So good we booked it twice!!” My wife and 5 friends booked the lodge as there annual get away last week end. They have a lovely time Laurie and his family are absolutely lovely, so helpful and always available to assist. In fact my wife left a Christmas present bought at the Christmas market in the bedroom we rang him and it arrived first class today. With no cost to us. Thank you Laurie !!! The brand new massive hot tub went down a storm for my wife and friends. Which was great unfortunately when we went the old hot tub broke but Laurie had no issue providing a very fair discount and refund. The lodge is open and well laid out, beds and comfortable and each room has an en-suite. The Lodge is well equipped and the farm animals right outside are great for the kids. For our biking weekend it was perfectly located on the cinder path and within easy walk of Whitby or £4 in a taxi after a lovely night out!!! I am sure that both my wife and her friends and myself and friends will be returning....... Look forward to the new hot tub Laurie!!!

“Great lodge but a few niggles” This is a beautiful lodge and it's in a fab location, you couldn't hear a pin drop other than the birds in the trees. There's a beautiful lake and it was nice having a wander round and feeding the ducks. You could fish it if you were that way inclined as we saw some beautiful big fish in there. You are just a short drive from the village with a Tesco and boots plus a couple of pubs and a chinese takeaway and chippy. The village of Haxby was our favourite and just a few miles away. Make sure to visit the Curious Coffee Company. The lodge is beautifully furnished and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. There is a lovely seating area ta the front for sitting in the sun. The cushions for it must have been left out by a previous renter as we found them in the living room wet through on arrival so had to wait a couple of days for them to dry out to use them. We did have ongoing wifi and tv issues which were a pain. My son has Autism and relies on the internet so when it kept stopping working it became a bit tedious. I spoke with the owner via email who had someone come in and look at it and it was ok for a couple of days but then kept stopping. Also the TV would only show the main channels half of the time and the others were too pixellated to watch. Not an important thing to some people but again it was important too us and we tend to stay in in the evenings. Also one last grumble, the washing machine was very black and moldy inside the drum and drawer and needs a through clean. A really pleasant lodge in a lovely area for exploring though.

“Tranquil, Relaxing and Pet friendly.” A prefect hidden gem tucked away in the tiny village of Grindale, Just 10 mins from Bridlington for the all important Fish and Chips (its the rules near the coast) and the Pizza oven is a added bonus - tricky to master but finally got the hand of it. The added extras Jane provided were the icing on the cake. Despite the rain on the Sunday (August BHols after all ) We had a lovely stay and will be looking to return.

“A hidden gem full of peace and quiet!” We were looking for a remote holiday to destress and unwind. We came across Daleside and thought we would give it a try. Absolute perfection. Peace and quiet personified. If you want phone signal and hustle and bustle then this is not the place for you (although we did have wifi ). We were greeted by the lovely Jackie and Ian and George the Labrador who was a big old softie. Jackie showed us round the house and showed us how everything worked. We were then left to our own devices. We took food with us and only ventured out to nearby Castleton to restock on essentials at the small co-op. Check out the tea room in the chapel, such friendly service and the cakes were amazing!! Whitby is only a short car journey away, as is Middlesbrough and Guisborough. We absolutely loved the peace and quiet, sheep bleating, chickens clucking, and not much else! No traffic. Pitch black on a night with a sky full of stars. If you are wanting a short break to unwind and unload the stresses of everyday life then I would heartly recommend Daleside. Thank you Jackie and Ian for making us feel so welcome xx Tina, Dave and Sharon xx

“Amazing little hidden gem and pet friendly” Lovely bungalow on a nice quiet caravan site. The location is perfect for the beach, a good 10-20 minute walk and that’s at the pace of our 5 year old daughter. The bungalow is really modern, clean, spacious inside. Perfect parking for 2 cars. Pet and child friendly especially with the enclosed decking on the back. One thing we did find lovely, no matter who you passed on site, people always said “good morning/afternoon” everyone on the site was really friendly and welcoming.
