“The perfect place to stay” A wonderfully appointed chalet in an excellent location. Clean as a whistle with everything you need for a solo or family holiday. Very helpful owners who make arriving and closing up as easy as possible. Beautiful location with great amenities . Comfy beds, good telly, swimming pool and other recreational facilities on site. My second trip was as good as the first and I will go back every year.

“A GREAT FIND!!!” So pleased we found this little gem!!! We needed accommodation for our family for business in the area. To find somewhere so homely and of such a high standard was a huge bonus. Everything we needed was there and Isabel went out of her way to assist us. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone.

“The perfect Holiday home” Seagull Cottage was an absolute delight! A perfect base to explore the Isle of Thanet. The owners had thought of everything, even including an apron and shopping bags! Nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend and look foward to visiting again.

“Lovely, comfortable apartment!” Set in a pretty part of south east England, this apartment is beautifully decorated and appointed. The hosts are very nice, friendly, and helpful but in a way that never intrudes on privacy. There are towns close by with good links to London, meaning you can enjoy the local countryside one day, and pop into London the next. You're strongly advised to bring a car as the apartment is quite isolated and nothing is reachable on foot, but do this and you'll be in for a very pleasant stay in a really lovely place.

“Lovely stay” We had a lovely stay here Pam who owns this bungalow, seems a really lovely person, although we haven’t actually met her. The bungalow was a real home away from home, so clean and comfortable and the little extra touches of milk, tea, coffee and biscuits left for us was really lovely. The park itself was very nice, the swimming pools sauna etc was great. The few staff we spoke to were very nice and helpful. The area of St. Margaret’s bay is really beautiful. I would definitely like to stay here again.

“Fantastic place to stay in a lovely seaside town..” We had a delightful stay in Whitstable at the Waves. The decor blew me away..so clever and beautiful. The home had a lovely seaside feel to it and opposite the home is a nice pub which luckily had evening entertainment on one of our evenings there. I would recommend Waves and we will definitely be going back!!!!!

“Like a home away from home...” It is not the first time we have stayed in this house and it will probably not be the last! The house is extremely well equipped and has the perfect location right at the sea-side but close to the town center so that any shopping can easily done by foot. We usually take back-packs for grocery shopping so that we do not need to move the car. Getting a parking space can sometimes be tricky during the day because Deal is a favorite spot to spend a day at the beach...It is very convenient though, that free parking is made possible near the house at all. Being so close to the beach is a real treat for us and having a drink while watching the sea seems to be the best way to end the day - and it is just across the street, a few steps away...The house offers enough space for a family, two bathrooms and three toilets are an absolute asset if you are travelling with teenagers! The kitchen is perfect and allows for ambitious cooking which is not always the case in holiday rentals. And, of course, there is always the view you get from the living room and the upstairs, so even if the weather is not so nice you can still enjoy the sea...

Kent holidays

The country province of Kent, England, encapsulates all the history and charm of the British Isles. Bordered by the greater London area, Kent is easily accessible, but feels miles away from the urban atmosphere of England's capital city. Here, country estates are nestled amidst rolling green countryside, while well-preserved medieval villages give visitors a glimpse of life in Old England. Often called "The Garden of England," Kent is filled with orchards, farms, and grazing animals.

Kent is a historic part of England, boasting some of the most well-known monuments in the country. The cathedral at Canterbury is a jewel of medieval architecture, built over the course of many centuries and recently inducted into the United Nations' list of World Heritage Sites. Built by King Henry II during the 12th century, Dover Castle is an impressive military fortress and a historic landmark. Travel through the Kent countryside to visit these and other stunning landmarks.

In addition to history, Kent is a wonderful place for a seaside holiday. Along the eastern edge of the county of Kent, the rugged coastline boasts some of the country's most beautiful beaches. Some shores, like the historic town of Hyde, are perfect for a romantic getaway. Other beaches, like the popular beaches of Margate and Broadstairs, are well suited to a family holiday. For butterflies and flowers, scenic views, and country villages, plan a hike through Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Some of Kent's top attractions include:

  • Knole House: Located in Sevenoaks, Knole House is a massive country estate, originally built by the archbishop of Canterbury in the 15th century.
  • Leeds Castle: Built beside a lovely natural lake and surrounded by 500 acres of greenery, this historic castle looks like the ones in fairy tales.
  • Historic Chatham Dockyard: Tour a historic submarine or historic warship at the shipbuilding yard in Chatham, which also includes a maritime museum.
  • Ramsgate: A family holiday town on Kent's coast, Ramsgate has a charming Harbor filled with great shops, pubs, and restaurants.

Get to know the real England with a holiday rental in the Kent countryside. If you are planning a romantic escape to Kent, seek out a cosy cabin in one of Kent's picturesque parklands, like the Blean wilderness near Canterbury. For the family, there's no better option than a comfortable condo by the shore in Whitstable, Broadstairs, or Margate. If you want to explore history, look for a traditional English home in the peaceful small town of Cranbrook.

Shell Ness Whitstable
An immaculate five star plus holiday house in a brilliant peaceful location

With the house overlooking the sea we spent late afternoons sitting out on the balcony on our return from our many excursions. There are numerous restaurants within easy distance but would recommend the Michelin star Sportsman which we visited for the second time and also The Pig another excellent meal. The Rose in Bloom which is only two minutes walk from the house is also highly recommended as a great family meal out. A beautiful walk into Whitstable where there is an attractive harbour with a small market where we bought fresh fish and also souvenirs. There are also many reasonable family restaurant s and cafes where oysters are on the menu. Whitstable town is still an old fashioned one with quaint shops to browse round. I really must comment on the cleanliness of Shell Ness where every effort had been made in this Covid pandemic. The crockery, glasses and cooking utensils were gleaming and plentiful, and the house was scrupulously clean. I must finish by saying the description and photos on the details of the house do not do it justice as there is another ensuite in the twin bedded room and a cloakroom in the entrance hall which is an added bonus. We had a fantastic week at Shell Ness and would like to thank Philip for making sure it was Covid safe and we will be back !!see more

The Nook
Lovely family holiday home

The Nook is a lovely, well equipped holiday home 2 minutes walk from the beach. It is very well placed in the high street where there are lots of places to eat, pubs and interesting shops. We walked along the coast road to Ramsgate and jumped on the train to Margate - 4 mins and to Canterbury - 25 mins. We also managed a few walks on the lovely sandy beaches. We had a couple of rainy days and my 2 children (17 and 21) made good use of the games room and consoles. The Nook is very much a home from home. Despite the weather, we had a lovely break and I would recommend it to families with children of any age. I can also highly recommend Posillipo restaurant.see more
