“Amazing and relaxing!” We had a great stay at The Dutch Barn. It was easy to find and has lots of mod cons. We also arrived to a lovely welcome basket and flowers which was a great touch. The hot tub was amazing and very clean (as well as being cleaned during the weekend). The lounge is bigger than it looks in the photos and there was plenty of room for the 7 adults staying. I would definitely recommend staying here! Thank you very much

“A beautiful, luxurious holiday cottage in idyllic surroundings.” What a find!!! Daleside is a truly lovely cottage which is every bit as good as the photos depict. It has everything you might need including off street parking (so often missing with some cottages) and even a welcoming surprise in the fridge! The cottage is beautiful both inside and out and the views from it are just stunning. The owner Christine close by and if we needed anything she was always contactable and was really proactive in making sure that everything was OK. Located in Over Hadden it makes a good base to tour the Peak District and is close to Bakewell and Chatsworth House. You can also walk for miles straight from the cottage, and the Lathkil Hotel which serves excellent meals and a range of beers and wines is just a couple of hundred yards away. We would thoroughly recommend this cottage to anyone wishing to visit this area.

“Craigmore Cottage” Fantastic few days at Craigmore Cottage. Lovely cottage with everything we needed for our stay. Excellent location, great for hiking up Kinder Scout which we did on our second day. Close to the village and all the pubs we visited were dog friendly. We had food at the Sportman pub which we would recommend to anyone. We also had a drink at The Royal Hotel which was nice to. Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely visit again!

“Quaint Cottage in Youlgreave” Just had a weekend here for my birthday with some friends. Village is lovely, did some walking and went to a couple of the pubs in the village, and cooked a lot of food. Everything in the house was spot on, well equipped and a lovely location. We will definitely be going back again!

“Perfect place for a lovely break.” This cottage is perfect and we (3 ladies on a celebratory break) felt completely comfortable and at home as soon as we arrived. The cottage is immaculately clean, lots of space and very comfortable. We've all said we'll come back together and separately with our families.

“Yet again a perfect stay.....” Having stayed at the Old Farrowings at Easter we decided to return to celebrate a birthday. Once again everything was perfect, luckily for us we had sunshine on the first day so sat on the terrace which is a great suntrap for the whole evening. The next day rained so we got to take advantage of the wood burner. Everything we could possibly need was there and we are looking forward to returning for a 3rd time next year.

“Excellent accommodation” This is an excellent holiday accommodation, spotlessly clean, everything you need is applied, very comfortable, you couldn’t ask for more. There was a very nice welcome basket when we arrived too. The back garden is private and a little sun trap, with seating and a table. Very quiet area. Easy walk into Bakewell through the park and lots of lovely places to visit without travelling far,I.e Buxton,Matlock, Ashford in the Water. Would definitely recommend to friends and will hopefully revisit ourselves sometime.

“Wonderful holiday destination for all! A real home from home.” I booked the Coach House at Gateham Grange for myself, my eldest daughter and my 4 year old grandson. The Coach House was a beautiful cottage, with everything you could need for a holiday and very comfortable beds! Teresa, Robert and Sam were all very welcoming, taking the time to talk to us and making us feel welcome and comfortable. My grandson absolutely loved the farm with the cows and calves and the sheep and the lambs (and a very friendly cat!); he was even given the opportunity to help feed the lambs. There are some beautiful walks from the farm, short and longer. We recommend taking a walk to Thors Cave. We definitely intend on returning.

“Beautiful cottage in Peak District” This is one of the nicest cottages I have stayed at ;it was spotlessly clean and comfortable and very cosy . We were greeted with lovely flowers and a freshly made cake and lots of extra touches like bubble bath . It is very good value for money. There are some beautiful walks from the cottage and some nice pubs which are dog friendly . There aren't many shops but a lovely bakery . The owners are helpful and friendly. When I visit this area again I would definitely stay again . ;

“Lovely cosy cottage, with great access to the Peak District” Our first time to the Peak District, we were very impressed with most of the towns and villages we visited. Parwich was no exception - nice quiet village with very friendly pub with hearty pub food, very reasonlably priced. There's also a British Legion club, which serves as a second pub, but we never got the chnace to try it out. Also plenty of walks around and good access to the whol Peak District area. The cottage is nice and cosy setout on 3 floors, with lovely new bathroom/shower room, very comfortable king-size bed and relaxing lounge area with open fire. It was clean, tidy and very well equiped throughout. In addition, there was lots of information on walks and leaflets of other attractions in the area. All in all we had a lovely stay. Many thanks .

Peak District National Park holidays

Rolling hills rise into striking fells as you enter the hiker's paradise that is the Peak District. Grab your boots, your rucksack and your camera - you'll need them to capture the full beauty of the UK's original national park. Surrounded by Derbyshire countryside, historic villages and stately homes, you'll find it easy to unwind and forget about the outside world.

Accommodation in rural Derbyshire ranges from idyllic stone cottages hidden in the fells to small town apartments and even a whole village pub. Whether you're going back to basics or want all the home comforts, holiday rentals in the Peak District will provide.

National treasures

On the eastern fringes of the Peak District sits the magnificent Chatsworth House, home to the Cavendish family since 1549. Luckily, the doors to this stately home - the set for Pride & Prejudice and Death Comes to Pemberley - are open to the public. In addition to lavish classical architecture, Chatsworth contains a collection of sculpture and artwork spanning some 4,000 years. The maze in the grounds is always a hit with children unimpressed by Rembrandt.

Stepping further back in time, Haddon Hall, seat of the Duke of Rutland, dates from the 11th century. As at Chatsworth House, filmmakers have scrambled to capitalise on its beauty: alongside numerous period dramas, Haddon became Prince Humperdinck's castle for The Princess Bride. It's a fortified manor rather than a true castle, but it's a great day out by any definition.

Take a hike

The Peak District lies at the southern tip of the Pennine Hills, famed for their outstanding beauty and accessible trails. There's nothing to stop you getting out there and enjoying nature. The ridge walk from Mam Tor to Losehill is a favourite among hikers, taking the highest route through the northern Peak District. There is no better view to be found.

A more gentle, but equally pretty, route takes the explorer through Dovedale National Nature Reserve and along the River Dove (and its infamous stepping stones). There's a small car parking charge, and it's best to arrive early, but it's one of the finest valley walks in the country.

Kinder Path Cottage
Fantastic place!

We stayed for two nights in late February. The weather was freezing but Gill put the heating on prior to our arrival so the cottage was toasty warm for us. I have never stayed in such a spotlessly clean place, we had everything we needed, the cottage was perfectly appointed with thoughtful little touches. I can't recommend this place, or the hosts highly enough. We will definitely return soon. Thank you Gill and Bart for everything.see more

Great cottage very clean and tidy the cleaners even came to clear the path after it had snowed. Very comfy furniture and everything we needed was there. Excellent!!!

Absolutely lovely cottage. It was very clean throughout and the kitchen was very well equipped. We loved our stay here. Very cosy and warm and it was like being home from home. When we arrived there was milk, a few drinks and biscuits, very much needed after our journey. What a lovely touch. Views were stunning and there were some iconic places within walking distance. Pub across the road and a beautiful tea & cake room (cakes were amazing!). Highly recommended this beautiful cottage, you will not be disappointed! Thank you Mike for a wonderful stay! ☺️see more

There's a really lovely view from the secret garden., Ashbourne and Dovedale an easy drive. This wasn't our first visit to the area and we will return to the hermitage for sure.
