“Bliss !” We booked Cheese Press Cottage as a Christmas retreat hoping for a festive, relaxing and private break away from our hectic lifestyles. It proved to be this and so much more! Upon arrival, we were in awe at the secluded location and knew we had made the perfect decision. Overwhelmed by the cuteness and details of the cottage, we were quick to get the fire going and use the Nespresso machine to enjoy with the complimentary biscuits. Although Jane was not present, she contacted us prior to our departure and ensured that our stay was still perfect. We had plans of exploring the area however in all honesty, we opted out of the plans to stay in the cottage and enjoy the winter views, making use of the kitchen facilities in cooking a rustic roast dinner next to the warmth of the fire. We were impressed with how far Jane had gone to make sure the cottage had everything we may need - We took oil, tea bags, sugar, oven trays etc just incase they weren't there but the cottage was well stocked and we didn't need any of it. We wanted privacy and we certainly had it, only seeing a chicken and three geese on our entire stay. We've spent the past week reminiscing and pining for the experience once again - we will certainly be trying to fit in another visit to Biggin Grange in the new year. Thank you Jane, the cottage excelled all our expectations x

“Perfect Cottage, Lovely Owner, all in all highly recommended” My stay at the Old Farrowings was to be honest, perfect. Jane couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful (there was even home made fruit cake waiting for me when I arrived! - Yum!). The cottage itself was lovely and cosy with everything that you could need - kitchen with espresso machine, fridge, cooker, microwave etc - a VERY impressive, very spacious bedroom with high beamed ceiling and a goose down duvet that made it very hard to get up in the morning, views over the dales from my private area outside where I sat with coffee and did some drawing in between throwing a tennis ball for their dog Otto. Spent the days roaring around the countryside on my Harley (close to Ashbourne, Matlock, up to Buxton etc.) and the evenings with a log fire watching films on netflix thanks to the free wifi. If you want a nice quiet holiday in beautiful countryside in a clean, modern yet old cottage conversion... this is it. Recommending it to friends already and hopefully stay again next year.

Characterful ,pet friendly cottage,sleeps 4,stunning views,village location
Fabulous five star cottage in a wonderful peaceful place.

What can I say! Well a lot really! Rowan Tree cottage is a five star accommodation with all the little extras that make it so more special. Dog friendly and spotlessly clean, for us a genuine home from home. A Beautiful little village setting with a hotel and Restaurant Biggin Hall and local pub the Waterloo Inn to salvate your tastebuds if you are inclined to eat out. A must for a relaxed weekend break in the beautiful Derbyshire hillside. I can see this place fully booked for the rest of the year as it is a little paradise bubble of yesteryear gone by.see more
Courtyard Creamery
Fabulous break :)

Courtyard Creamery proved to be lovely, airy , peaceful and very comfortable accomodation on a picturesque farm with absolutely stunning views of the rolling hills and splendid looking cows. Jane and Richard are very friendly and the chocolate brownies were a very welcome treat. There are so many walking and cycling opportunities in the area we will definitely want to make a return visit.see more
Cosy cottage close to Tissington Trail
Lovely little cottage

Loved our couple of nights stay in this little cottage. It is small but nice and cosy for a couple/small family for a few nights holiday. The cottage overlooks fields of sheep, lovely view, it has an open coal fire which was nice and has everything you need and more. The only downside was the water. It was only hand hot and went cold when the bath was only a quarter full. It's in a lovely village with a nice pub and a half hour walk to Hartington that has a few shops including a lovely cheese shop. A couple of miles walk led you to the Tissington Trail which is very popular for cyclists.see more

Cheese Press Cottage
Relaxing and wonderful stay

My husband booked our 3 day stay at Cheese Press cottage for my birthday and it was one of the best breaks that we have had in the UK. It was wonderful..It is very private with fields of sheep and cows around the back of the cottage. We sat on the terrace listening to the birds and watching the sheep munch on grass . We were visited by 3 chickens and the owners beautiful labradors . The cottage was spotlessly clean and well stocked and the bed was so comfortable. The owners were very welcoming. If you enjoy a peaceful and relaxing break in beautiful surroundings, this is the place to stay. Bliss.see more
