“Fantastic Cosy Cottage” We stayed for 4 nights at oatcake cottage and we absolutely loved it! Situated right in the centre of castleton it was minutes walk to the lovely pubs and restaurants and also had parking right outside. The cottage itself was wonderful and had everything we needed, including the most comfortable beds! Will definitely be staying here again.

“Clean comfortable compact cottage” Lovely, well appointed cottage with lots of nice finishing touches, such as tea, coffee, milk, washing up liquid, handwash etc. all provided. We arrived in the evening and it was wonderful to walk in to a warm inviting place to stay with everything we needed. Our visit was very brief with little opportunity for sight-seeing as we were visiting relatives but the cottage totally suited our requirements. The area is beautiful and we hope to return again.

“Quaint Cottage in Youlgreave” Just had a weekend here for my birthday with some friends. Village is lovely, did some walking and went to a couple of the pubs in the village, and cooked a lot of food. Everything in the house was spot on, well equipped and a lovely location. We will definitely be going back again!

“A beautiful, luxurious holiday cottage in idyllic surroundings.” What a find!!! Daleside is a truly lovely cottage which is every bit as good as the photos depict. It has everything you might need including off street parking (so often missing with some cottages) and even a welcoming surprise in the fridge! The cottage is beautiful both inside and out and the views from it are just stunning. The owner Christine close by and if we needed anything she was always contactable and was really proactive in making sure that everything was OK. Located in Over Hadden it makes a good base to tour the Peak District and is close to Bakewell and Chatsworth House. You can also walk for miles straight from the cottage, and the Lathkil Hotel which serves excellent meals and a range of beers and wines is just a couple of hundred yards away. We would thoroughly recommend this cottage to anyone wishing to visit this area.

“Fantastic Cottage” We loved our stay at Pumpkin Cottage. Jane was very helpful for any questions we had and the cottage was equipped with everything we needed, including a lovely bottle of wine for us and some dog treats for the dogs. Having a enclosed garden made the trip more enjoyable and the parking locally at the pub wasn’t an issue at all. Would highly recommend and stay again, located well for lots of walks that we spent the week doing.

“Lovely cosy cottage, with great access to the Peak District” Our first time to the Peak District, we were very impressed with most of the towns and villages we visited. Parwich was no exception - nice quiet village with very friendly pub with hearty pub food, very reasonlably priced. There's also a British Legion club, which serves as a second pub, but we never got the chnace to try it out. Also plenty of walks around and good access to the whol Peak District area. The cottage is nice and cosy setout on 3 floors, with lovely new bathroom/shower room, very comfortable king-size bed and relaxing lounge area with open fire. It was clean, tidy and very well equiped throughout. In addition, there was lots of information on walks and leaflets of other attractions in the area. All in all we had a lovely stay. Many thanks .

“Craigmore Cottage” Fantastic few days at Craigmore Cottage. Lovely cottage with everything we needed for our stay. Excellent location, great for hiking up Kinder Scout which we did on our second day. Close to the village and all the pubs we visited were dog friendly. We had food at the Sportman pub which we would recommend to anyone. We also had a drink at The Royal Hotel which was nice to. Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely visit again!

“Derbyshire Delight!!” What a beautiful little gem The Croft in Winster is!!! The cottage is very welcoming and warm and very well appointed! A lovely retreat to return to after a hard days walking with our two dogs. We had very thing we needed supplied in the cottage and to be able to use the garden so late in the season was an added bonus.......views to die for!!!! We found the village and villagers extremely friendly and enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch in one of the village pubs The Bowling Green. Will definitely look to return again!!

“Comfortable home from home” Hillsview is an immaculate bungalow in the delightful village of Youlgreave absolutely perfect for a short break. We sampled each of the three 'eateries' and had a delightful country walk. A visit to Hadden Hall was an amazing bonus.

“Beautiful little barn” We stayed here for 2 nights with our dog, and purpose of our trip was walking and pubs! Firstly the location is beautiful. Lots of pubs within walking distance but still felt really rural. Helen was very welcoming and shared some really useful info, then left us to it and the barn felt nice and private. The ‘breakfast pack’ is far more than just breakfast, and was very generous and much appreciated! The barn itself is lovely and cosy, immaculately clean and full or character. We loved our stay here and will definitely be back.

“Big house in a good location.” The conservator is great for entertaining and partying day or night. Top floor shower is not for tall people but others are good. Breakage fees are a bit steep so advise you replace glasses yourself, £3 a glass, especially as broken due to Belfast sink not being very forgiving.

“Cosy cottage in a fabulous location” We had a wonderful week at Overdale Cottage. Perfectly situated for many walks from the lovely village of Youlgrave, we loved the view along Bradford Dale from the cottage and its roof terrace. All amenities were provided and everything was well maintained. Our only watchout is access: do not attempt to drive down the narrow lane as you are liable to damage your car! Park on the main road and don’t bring too much luggage as you’ll have to carry everything along the steep path from the main road to the cottage.

“New Year Knees Up!” We spent a lovely, if not wet, New Year week at this cottage and I have to say the facilities are very good. Ideal for local amenities and pubs which all serve foot. Great location for sightseeing with Buxton, Bakewell, Castleton & Chesterfield within easy 20 minute drive. Would benefit from a dryer as it did take an awful long time to dry clothes on the airer but you wouldn't have this problem in the Summer months. Overall excellent and I would recommend this venue to others who are looking to spend time in the Peak District which is also a beautiful part of the country.

“Lovely little cottage” Loved our couple of nights stay in this little cottage. It is small but nice and cosy for a couple/small family for a few nights holiday. The cottage overlooks fields of sheep, lovely view, it has an open coal fire which was nice and has everything you need and more. The only downside was the water. It was only hand hot and went cold when the bath was only a quarter full. It's in a lovely village with a nice pub and a half hour walk to Hartington that has a few shops including a lovely cheese shop. A couple of miles walk led you to the Tissington Trail which is very popular for cyclists.

“Excellent accommodation” This is an excellent holiday accommodation, spotlessly clean, everything you need is applied, very comfortable, you couldn’t ask for more. There was a very nice welcome basket when we arrived too. The back garden is private and a little sun trap, with seating and a table. Very quiet area. Easy walk into Bakewell through the park and lots of lovely places to visit without travelling far,I.e Buxton,Matlock, Ashford in the Water. Would definitely recommend to friends and will hopefully revisit ourselves sometime.

“Amazing and relaxing!” We had a great stay at The Dutch Barn. It was easy to find and has lots of mod cons. We also arrived to a lovely welcome basket and flowers which was a great touch. The hot tub was amazing and very clean (as well as being cleaned during the weekend). The lounge is bigger than it looks in the photos and there was plenty of room for the 7 adults staying. I would definitely recommend staying here! Thank you very much

“Perfect location for our bi-annual get together.” The cottage was ideal for our party of 6 adults and 2 children, with room to spare. The children loved the small play area, especially the trampoline. The kitchen was well stocked with enough room to store all of the equipment and food that we'd brought and because you couldn't leave cars outside the door (there was a designated parking area very close by), there was a large open area just outside. Linda greeted us on arrival and made sure that we were comfortable, even though she'd done the same for our son who had arrived slightly earlier than the rest of the party. Both she and the cottage were really warm and welcoming.

“Girls weekend” It really is the most amazing property, in a breath taking location. The views are incredible and the property is very well looked after & had everything we needed. We had the best weekend. Also great communication with the owners, leading up to our stay & very helpful. We will all definitely be recommending the Mermaid Inn.
