“Relaxing, comfortable and lovely views!” The studio was great for me and my boyfriend, we had everything we needed and were really comfortable. There are great views all around the studio and really lovely walks from your front door. Lis was extremely helpful and even lent us the BBQ which was great. We would recommend to friends and family as its a great location, great price and a beautiful place to visit.
“Peaceful Retreat” Positives:
Excellent location: peaceful, semi-rural yet near city and all amenities.
Convenient for sightseeing, walks, fishing and cycling.
Spacious, well-designed, very clean barn conversion with kitchen/diner, bathroom and small, paved entrance hall/utility room downstairs and one large bedroom/living-room upstairs. Suitable for couple or family with younger children.
Well-equipped kitchen with good quality appliances.
Table-tennis outside and table-football inside to keep everyone amused and happy.
Huge TV, computer and Wi-Fi – a real touch of luxury for the price.
Spectacular outside area: perfect for al fresco dining or just chilling with a cup of tea.
Friendly, relaxed hosts who kindly left tea, coffee, sugar, fresh milk, cleaning stuff and toilet paper ready for guests' arrival. Warm, welcoming touch – much appreciated.
Clear, prompt communication with hosts throughout.
Sign could be bigger and more obvious as entrance to property is disguised by hedges.
Would be good if bottom half of stable door shut properly to let air circulate while keeping small children or dogs safe.
Shower door/curtain OR mop to dry the floor would help.
Chest of drawers would be handy for clothes storage.
Thin sofa-bed mattress would not suit anyone with back problems.
Washing-machine and pegs great but a washing-line would be useful!
Generally: This was a convenient and relaxing base for a week's holiday visiting friends and family. Beech Barn is excellent value for money and we thoroughly recommend it. We enjoyed our stay very much and hope to stay there again. Many thanks to Tom and Rita.
“Beautiful barn and surrounding gardens - plenty to do” We had a lovely time staying at Crugkern, despite the weather being a bit wild. We were very cosy in the barn and found everything to be of the highest quality and very well thought out. We had some very enjoyable trips out to the Minack Theatre (where the sun shone!), to St. Ives and to the Levant mines. We loved being shown around Rick's amazing garden and he very generously gave us several plants to bring home which are doing well. We hope to come back. Many thanks.
“A lovely peaceful place to stay in, comfortable bed & friendly owners who are there when you need them.” A lovely warm clean place to stay & very comfortable bed. Patricia kindly left a few essentials such as tea & milk etc to start us off which was very much appreciated & was very helpful. Great place to stay, near to beach, new forest, Salisbury & local walks so plenty to do. We will come again which is a good recommendation.
“perfect” This was just what we needed. A self contained happy tree house in (what felt like) the middle of no where. There is a lovely village nearby and lots of sites in the area. The treehouse was perfect, wish the weather had been a bit better but the windows are enormous so we were able to enjoy the view from the inside. Slept like a baby. Mrs S is lovely. Couldn't have asked for more - would definitely go back and stay for more than a night. Loved it and were just sad we didn't have more time to just chill there.

“Lovely property, great location, fantastically relaxing” Lovely little apartment. Very clean property in a nice village with two local pubs near. Great base for trips up & down the Tamar Valley, fantastic for exploring the area.
“Perfect retreat” I stayed 3 nights at the Coppice retreat and we had an absolutely lovely stay. The studio is gorgeous and clean, the bed is wondefully comfy and the surroundings are simply perfect. The grounds are utterly tranquil and just devine! I travelled with my 6 year old son and we were made extremely welcome by the friendly hosts. The coppice is situated ideally for Dorset beaches and many attractions but is far enough away from things to feel, well, away from it all! We visited both Bath and Longleat while we were there but lots of other places are well within reach. It is perfect for couples or friends staying together or like me, a mum and a child. My son loved all the nature and wildlife to be found in the area and there are lots of nice walks to be had. Very quiet. In all, I we both wished we could stay there forever!
“Fantastic surroundings and wonderful breakfast!!!” We (myself, husband and 8 year old daughter) stayed here 2 nights and had a wonderful time. Lovely clean room and bathroom, drinks and snacks left for us on arrival, grounds were amazing and so was the owners they couldnt do enough to help you and make your stay more enjoyable. A banquet of a breakfast that was wonderful. Nearby to lovely walks and country pubs, very rural and alovely escape from the internet and phones! Would return there again.
