“Great!!” This is the second time we have visited this little bungalow and there will be more times. It was home from the first time and even more so this time. It's so well equipped, extremely comfortable and a super space! Just love the huge thick towels that are provided. Bit chilly to use the lovely garden this time. But would like to thank Kim for another smashing weekend.
“Absolutely beautiful” I rented the beach house for the weekend for my partners birthday in July 2011, I'd been there a few years before and it was just as beautiful as I remember. it was a complete surprise to my partner as he had no idea what we were doing or where we were going and I honestly couldn't of been happier with the reaction I got. We drove up the small lane to get to the front of the bungalow and he was rather surprised when I told him to pull into the driveway. Everything is very well presented from the front view of the property but it doesn't prepare you for what your about to walk into.
The inside of the bungalow is beautiful, everything is exactly how you would expect it to be if you were going away for the weekend. The kitchen was fully packed with everything you'd need to cook a meal and everything was clean, neatly presented and ready to use. You can easily access the bathroom and separate toilet from the main entrance. They both were also very clean and tidy. Once inside the main living area the wow factor was yet to come as all the main blindes were down so you couldn't see the stunning views. The space is perfect, great sitting area where you can sit and read or watch tv and also a dinning area where you can sit as a large family comfortably. On either side of the main living area there are two decent sized double bedrooms. I generally have trouble sleeping in unfamiliar places but this wasn't the case here. It's very hard not to be at ease and relaxed with the surroundings.
If you haven't already fallen in love with this property then once those french doors and blinds are open I don't think you can help it! There is a decked area which is perfect for sunbathing! You literally take one step off the decking and your actually on the beach. I think if you were any closer you'd be in trouble of flooding! It's a pebbled beach which wouldn't usually be my normal choice but it was very clean compared to some of the other beach destinations I've visited within the UK! The neighbours and people we came in contact with (very few as it's a very quiet place and definitely ideal if you want a romantic weekend or just to get away) were very friendly.
I honestly don't have a single bad word to say about this place, it was perfect. We will definitely be going back and would definitely recommend it to anyone that needs to see something beautiful or someone who just wants to get away and relax!
“Perfect Setting, some details could be improved” The views from the bungalow were amazing as was lying in bed watching the sun rise over the seascape. The convenience of being 5 minutes stroll from the beach, the romance of Bleak House next door, the onsite parking were all pluses. Cleanliness was of a good standard and the memory foam beds were comfy.
For the amount we paid I would have hoped for better quality bedding that had at least been ironed, more pillows, and the synthetic material of much of the duvet covers we found hot and uncomfortable.
Not enough mugs and glasses provided for 6 people we were constantly using the dishwasher- great sized fridge freezer coped easily with all our food etc.
What a shame the garden looked neglected we could imagine it had been lovely once.
Plenty of space in the bungalow for us all and great quality television to amuse the children and give us a lie-in!!!
Broadstairs was as beautiful as ever and the weather was kind, Gala week entertainment and fireworks amazing.
“Excellent accomodation” A spacious and comfortable accomodation in a quiet and rural environment.
The house is ideally situated for trips into the Kent region.
A small minus is that we had to be creative to cook pasta for 8 persons (lack of sufficant cooking utensils.
“Just Right” Great house to stay in. Clean, comfortable and had everything you needed and more. Home from home without the clutter. Great location for the beach easy walking distance even for the little ones. Lovely hosts. Would definitely recommend and go back again and again.
“Miss” We have had such a wonderful holiday at (ON THE BEECH).For the time of the year the weather has been fantastic. The whole family plus our dog patch has had a great half term.We will defimatly be comeing back.
“A comfortable well-equipped and welcoming holiday home for two!” "Peeler's Rest" is ideally situated at the top of the steep hil which runsl down into the very pretty Staithes village, with easy access to the bus stop on the main road for trips to Runswick Bay, Whitby or Saltburn to name but a few of the lovely places along this coast.
We found the bungalow very comfortable with everything we needed for our 3 night stay & Lee, the owner, is very friendly & hospitable. There are good cooking facilities in the bungalow but for our short stay we ate at several of the excellent local eateries especially the Fox & Hounds pub & the Captain Cook Inn - the nearest two pubs. We also had an excellent evening meal at the Runcible Spoon, Hinderwell which specialises in Pizzas but has other delicious specials also.
By chance we were staying during the wonderful Arts & Heritage Festival in the old part of Staithes & it was magical. We would definitely like to go again.
“Excellent accommodation whatever the weather” A week in a bungalow on the edge of a cliff in February, what was I thinking? Well whatever I was thinking I was absolutely right. 119 Waterside Park in Corton is an excellent two bedroom bungalow yards from the cliff edge (well fenced off). The fixtures and fittings are excellent, it was freshly painted ready for the new year ahead and you are assured of a warm welcome when you arrive. The newly installed decking with gate was perfect for our dog and will be great for relaxing on when the weather improves. I can honestly say I have never been so warm and comfortable in a holiday bungalow. The bed was comfortable with an extra fleece blanket which we didn't need, and the shower was great. We would love to stay here again but as we were house hunting in the area hopefully we will soon have our own seaside heaven.
“Otters Lodge pleasant stay” Otters Lodge is a lovely place to stay, from the moment you walk through the door you are enchanted the rooms that are decorated and furnished exquisitely. the nights were not cold but we did find the Lodge cozy and warm, I would recommend this accommodation to friends and relatives, if they were to be traveling this area.
Thank you Lorrayne and Jake you have a very lovely place.
“A very enjoyable experience” The property was excellent with good views over Whitstable. It was clean and well stocked. The owner was helpful and easy to contact as she lives near by.
It is a good place to stay if you wish to travel around to other places in the vicinity. There are lots of good places to eat but may need to book in advance as they get booked up, especially at the weekend. The property has ample parking but if you are walking back from town the hill is a bit steep. There is a Tesco nearby if you need anything.
Overall it was an excellent place to stay. .
“Stunning location” Nicely renovated & homely bungalow/challet which is very well equipped including a nice, hot shower! Spotlessly clean & a lovely welcome package - thank you! The location is fantastic - just a 2 minute walk onto a small but spectacular bay with sand & rock pools which we had almost entirely to ourselves in February. Electricity is meter card. The 1st £10 was included for us & we added another £5 - not bad for a family of 4 in the winter! We did have a power cut but Louise (owner) was lovely & got it all sorted for us. Had such a lovely time and thank you for allowing us to bring our dogs.
Tips: The bungalows do get damp so windows are left open to air them - in winter check & close on arrival otherwise, like us, you'll never get warm!!!
Take toilet roll and, if there in winter I advocate slippers... I really wish I had had some indoor shoes/slippers!
“Very good pet-friendly stay” The Haven exceeded our expectations and we thoroughly enjoyed our short stay and wished we could have had longer. There was a lovely welcome pack on our arrival and the owner Elaine could not have been more helpful. Recommend to anyone with or without a dog.
