“Excellent house and location” A perfect house for the slightly larger family with everything you need for your stay. The location was lovely with the coast literally across the green from the bottom of the garden. Lovely walks and only a few minutes walk into Weymouth.
One word of caution the house is at the top of the hill so not really suitable for those who struggle with walking uphill.
Weymouth itself is a lovely holiday destination with a great mix of restaurants, shops and venues.
“Stunning location, modern well kept property” We stayed at the Dutch Barn for one week - 4 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs. We found the property to be exceptionally clean with modern furnishings and lovely touches such as candles, high quality linen and canvases of the area.
All of the amenities were in good working order but, had any problems arisen the manager of the property lived opposite. Very handy! She came and introduced herself on our first night to make sure we had settled in.
The property was well situated for exploring Lathkill Dale on foot; Bakewell and Matlock were a short drive away. Lovely views from all the windows at the front of the property. It was nice to have the option to sit out the front and enjoy the view, or to sit in the private decked area out the back (where the hot tub is situated).
There were a couple of things missing in our view: the hot tub did not have a lid lifter so getting the cover on and off was very heavy/difficult - it was definitely a job for the men! All female groups could struggle!! The outdoor tables could have done with parasols. The addition of a 'Welcome pack' would have been useful...to include simple instructions for appliances and the hottub; useful phone numbers; and details of local supermarkets/pubs etc.
Its also worth noting that the front garden is elevated from the road and whilst it is enclosed, it wasnt difficult for a dog to jump over the low wall onto the road. There were few cars but lots of walkers and dogs going by. The decked area out the back was completely enclosed.
Overall we had a fantastic holiday, and would recommend staying at the Dutch Barn.
“Stylish comfortable house in an idyllic location” Gorgeous house with fantastic well equipped kitchen ideal for large families. The location is stunning with a short ferry ride to a sandy dog friendly beach. A pub, cafe and restaurant with delicious lobster dishes are all nearby. All in all an ideal place for our family holiday.
“A beautiful house in stunning Fowey” We had a fantastic stay in Helen House. The house is very well presented and spotlessly clean with fantastic views over the river Fowey, providing all we needed for a very comfortable and pleasant stay. Fowey harbour, the lovey shops, pubs and tea rooms and the beach are in walking distance. On site parking is a bonus too!
Fowey is beautiful ! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this lovely house for your stay in beautiful Fowey.
“Dream holiday” Absolutely fantastic from start to finish would not hesitate to book Beachview again beautiful clean house wonderful views owners and housekeeper so friendly and nothing was too much trouble willbdefineteky be returning
“Family stay” We had a fantastic stay at the Old School House with our daughter and our dog. This is a great property for family's, the house is beautiful, immaculately clean and in a great location. We did a lot of research before booking our week away and it paid off. We couldn't have asked for more and would highly recommend this property to anybody looking to holiday in the New Forest.
“This is a fabulous house and the owners did not spare any details” We went away for my mother in laws 70th with the extended family including a small 10 month old baby and the house was perfect. The owners arranged everything down to a caterer for the Saturday night. The only feedback I would have on the house is they could add a few extra couches in the TV room - apart from that, it was perfect!!
“Very spacious, good quality accommodation in Torver” This was our 17th stay at Ash Gill cottage, which says it all really! Super location with the Wilson Arms pub for food & refreshment nearby and lots of lovely walks from the house, including the Old Man of Coniston and Coniston Lake. The house is really well equipped with super furniture & furnishings. A luxury family bathroom plus ensuite & downstairs loo makes it easy for 6 people to stay very comfortably. We always have a great time!
“An excellent location for visiting the island” The Perch proved to be a great location for a relaxing break near the sea. The house was clean and comfortable and provided all the equipment we needed. Situated near the beach and also within walking distance of the town, the house is in an ideal position for walking and evening entertainment.
There is plenty to do on the island - whatever the weather. Best of all, we took our big black dog with us and he was also welcomed wherever we went - joining us for pub meals, afternoon teas and receiving a special treat down at the local.
“Away from it all” Another lovely holiday at Brimble Cottage and a very warm welcome from Norman and Venetia. It's an excellent centre for exploring Dartmoor and the cottage is warm, comfortable and well equipped.
“Fantastic Weekend” A wonderful place to celebrate my 50th birthday with two other families. Sorry my helium balloon escaped to the ceiling of the living room so unable to get it down!
The house is amazing with everything you might need and lovely views from the balconies. We were blessed with the weather so had an enjoyable morning on the lake and afternoon in the spa. Will certainly visit again as such a peaceful location.
“Summer Holiday” Trevose is a wonderful house, spacious and comfortable. The owners, Nick and Chris were very helpful and were keen to ensure we had a good stay. We enjoyed 2 wonderful weeks there, the weather was great so we made full use of the garden which has a large decking area, a large table and plenty of seating (not shown in the photos). The house is a short walking distance from Crantock beach, there is a tea room and 2 pubs in the village as well as a Londis. It is just a short drive to Newquay, Perranporth and other beaches, as well as Padstow and the Camel trail. We would love to stay again, in fact, we would happily live there !
“Super Village ,Beach and house.” The house is within easy reach of the beach, the harbour the village and all amenities. the house is well equipped with all domestic facilities and fittings. This was our second visit and we heartily recommend .
“Extremely comfortable property in fantastic location” My husband and I stayed in Waters Edge with our 3 teenagers for 6 weeks whilst we had some building work done on our house. Amanda was very helpful & friendly throughout our stay. Although we live in Tonbridge, I had never ventured down to this area of the river so was extremely surprised at how beautiful & peaceful it is, especially considering its only a 2 minute walk to the High Street. The house is well equipped, spacious and tastefully decorated; a real home from home. We've enjoyed daily walks to Tonbridge Park and have been greeted by swans right outside the front door on a couple of occasions. I would definitely recommend it and stay again.
“Everything we wanted” 8 adults and 2 dogs recently stayed here for 3 nights, great welcome and service from the owners, we all had a great stay. The property had absolutely everything we needed, spacious and accommodating . Would highly recommend this place to anyone. Great location, walking distance to a very nice pub, good food and good prices.
“Beautiful country retreat” The house is lovely-comfortable and attractively furnished. The kitchen is huge and well equipped. It was too cold to use the conservatory, but it certainly was an inviting space. The views from the living room and main bedroom are beautiful with a well kept garden and fields beyond. The gas fire meant we could quickly warm up the living space in the evenings. The bedrooms are very comfortable and the bathrooms luxurious. Communication with the owner was timely, friendly and informative. We found everything as described on the website. We did not spend much time in the local area as we were commuting to Durham; both Durham and the Newcastle area are within easy reach by car.
