We found this the perfect place for a relaxing get away with friends. The barn is in a classic Cotswolds village with great traditional pubs close by. It is homely and stylish and a perfect mix between spacious and cosy. Would highly recommend! …
Quintessential Cottage - close to village pool & pub
Comfortable warm cottage in typical Cotswolds village
The house was very clean and comfortable and nice and warm in winter. It is not a house for tall people as the ceilings are low. I am 5foot 10’´ (1,78) and could not wear heels in the kitchen. No jumping for joy here! The attic bedroom was pronounced very cosy, but the house stairs are only for the agile.
Loved the kitchen/dining area, in fact we never used the dining room.
A lovely decorated Christmas tree had been installed for us which was much appreciated.
Beds were very comfortable.
The kitchen was very comfortable to cook in and had a Nespresso machine which was great. Disappointed to find the ceramic hob was not induction. Cooking was a pain. Only one blunt kitchen knife!!! Bring your own if like us you cook. No salad servers, no milk jug, no lemon squeezer, no cheese knife. Great saucepans but poor frying pans.
We rented the cottage for 10 days but had only 1 bath towel each. A change of towels would have been appreciated as there is no tumble drier. A second small towel for hair would also have been appreciated.
Loved the village pub The Five Alls just 300m up the road, ate there 5 times and popped in for drinks.
We would rent here again but would bring some extra kitchen utensils with us, …
The Barn Cotswolds
Great house, lovely host, great setting, perfect!
We were a group of 6 old friends looking for a house for us to have a long overdue get together for the weekend. The Barn was perfect, with a large space downstairs to relax and spend time together and a table for us to enjoy meals together (and dance around in the evening). There were 2 bedrooms which meant sharing rooms (and beds in some cases) but being a group of close friends, this didn't bother us for the 2 evenings we stayed.
The small touches made all the difference: the chocolate cake baked by Deborah left on the table on our arrival and the home made flapjacks in the bedrooms. A lovely surprise.
The barn was well equipped and had many added value facilities including a gym/fitness room (great after the homemade cakes)!
The barn was a short stroll from the town which had good pubs and restaurants.
All in all we can't recommend enough and we would certainly return. …
