Welcome to Oaks Retreat, your luxury lodge nestled in a 1/3 acre woodland dingle beneath a canopy of oak trees. Unwind in your Jacuzzi spa, surrounded by the natural beauty of mature oaks and the lodge's modern western red cedar cladding, whilst listening to the soothing background trickle of the stream as it meanders beneath you. Sit back and relax with an evening drink on the composite decking, warmed by the Burda electric heater, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings before searing a steak or marshmallow over the traditional Indian Kadai fire bowl, complete with cooking grill.

Oaks Retreat is accessed from a dedicated parking area by a gravel path (approximately 80m long) located along the lower level of the owners' secluded, tiered garden. As you walk along the pathway, lit by floor level LEDs, through carefully chosen shrubs and planted slopes and pass through a gateway of two magnificent oak trees, you gain your first glimpse of the lodge; the elevated balcony and front windows with the stream below flowing gently from the waterfall behind.

It's a truly unique, magical and private space and yet only a short walk into Church Stretton town with its eateries, independent specialist shops and attractions. After a day's activities you can retreat into your personal haven and relax.

Oaks Retreat has been designed with luxury and pampering in mind, yet is offered with a realistic price tag. We want you to enjoy your stay with us, whether you are planning a romantic retreat or mini-moon, an activity break or simply some time to yourselves. From your elevated private balcony and hot tub, you can enjoy wonderful views, through the trees, of the Long Mynd and areas of the town. It's hard to believe that the tranquility of Oaks Retreat is only five minutes' walk away from the train station and a few minutes more from the centre of Church Stretton. It's this mix of seclusion yet close proximity to local amenities that really sets Oaks Retreat apart.

We believe the little things make the biggest memories. Inside, we have striven to provide everything you might expect from a luxurious getaway: underfloor heating, a cosy flame fire, a fully-equipped kitchen, powerful rain shower, super king bed, outdoor Jacuzzi, and a fire bowl and BBQ are just some of the touches that we believe will make your stay extra special.

As we are a small, family run enterprise, we are always on hand to give you advice, if wanted and help, when needed. Our goal is to ensure that you have an unforgettable time at Oaks Retreat.

We have recently partnered with MyPersonalSanctuary where you can book spa treatments to be taken at Oaks Retreat to make your stay even more special so please take a look.

“"Mini Moon"”

Reviewed 17 Apr 2017

We met with Sarah at the start of our weekend stay who was very friendly and helped with our bags from the car to the short walk to Oaks Retreat down a gravel path. The retreat is in a lovely wooded setting. Sarah talked us through the information book about the lodge and also the village of Church Stretton which is a short walk away. Sarah also had a chilled bottle of fizz waiting for our arrival which was a lovely touch. We chose to spend the first day in the lodge; just relaxing; lovely to listen to the trickling waterfall at the back of the lodge and to dip in and out of the hot tub. Nice being in the hot tub at night with the trees lit up. Saturday afternoon we walked into the village; had a nice pub lunch and a walk around the huge antiques market. Before going back to the lodge. A really lovely; very relaxing weekend, just what we needed. Would highly recommend.

“Oaks Retreat”

Reviewed 8 Mar 2017

After staying at The Larches last year(and loving it) we decided to come back and stay at Oaks Retreat. Sara was super friendly and helpful. Oaks Retreat was amazing. Loads of space, inside and out, wonderful scenery and so peaceful. Perfect for a romantic break.

“AMAZING!!!”

Reviewed 26 Feb 2017

We stayed for 2 nights in the lodge and it was just perfect!! Beautiful views with peaceful surroundings. The lodge is stunning and with the added luxury of the hot tub and not to forget the waterfall!! Will most definitely be going back for a second visit!! Thank you Sara & Mark

“Perfect”

Reviewed 22 Nov 2016

Oaks retreat was everything we had hoped and more. We wanted a quiet place to chill for a couple of days and the lodge measured up perfectly. Immaculately maintained, clean and everything we needed. The lodge is reached through an illuminated walkway with the firepit and patio area in front of the lodge, all surrounded by woods. This adds to the feeling of gaining your own personal escape. Internally the layout of the lodge is really good, managing to define the lounge, bedroom and kitchen areas even though it’s obviously all the same area. Overall the room has a very spacious feel which we enjoyed. Ah the hot tub! This a real treat as it overlooks the woodland from the balcony and left us feeling relaxed after 20 minutes of gentle pummelling. Mark and Sara were great, obviously cared that we had a good time but in no way intrusive. Mark likes his technology and this is evident with a Nest thermostat, good wifi, wireless headphones for the TV so you can watch in silence if your partner is asleep and heated bathroom floor. We had a good geekie chat as I love my tech too. Would we return and would we recommend to a friend? An easy yes to both.

“Beautiful lodge in peaceful surroundings”

Reviewed 20 Nov 2016

Agree wholeheartedly with all the reviews we read prior to our visit. A wonderful, luxurious lodge in a magic spot. Mark and Sara really lovely but not at all intrusive. The lodge has everything you could possibly need, we loved relaxing in the hot tub and the lovely bubbly was much appreciated. We enjoyed all Church Stretton had to offer and would return for the amazing deli alone. As recommended we enjoyed cocktails and a delicious meal at Housmans and walking the up the Long Mynd (great views!). Many thanks Sara and Mark!

“Simply amazing”

Reviewed 6 Nov 2016

You literally cannot fault a thing. Sara and Mark are lovely and will do anything to help you. The log cabin itself is simply stunning. My partner and I stayed for a short break for my birthday and I couldn't have asked for anything better. The views are stunning from the cabin and the house are amazing. Will definitely be booking again with Sara and Mark, only for longer this time!!

“Amazing!!!”

“Relaxation at its best!”

Reviewed 11 Sep 2016

Just back from a 2 night break, big mistake, it needed to be longer this is perfect for a get away from it all, luxury break. Sara the owner is a friendly, helpful lady who made us feel welcome and 'a friend'. The cabin has everything, hairdryer, towels, all kitchen utensils, TV, underfloor heating, perfect all year round. Church stretton is a short walk away, the Thai restaurant is fab! Nice coffee shops and antique shops, train station to take you to various places around. Little stretton approx 1 mile away, 2 pubs, we tried the green dragon - amazing food! Taxi back was only £6! Would love to return to this piece of heaven. Ps free internet!

“Loved It!”

Reviewed 6 Sep 2016

My husband and I stayed at Oaks Retreat from Friday to Sunday. It's a beautiful lodge in a secluded area overlooking Church Stretton. It is very comfortable and modern. The hot tub is lovely to relax in and towels are provided. Church Stretton is a ten minute walk away with lots of places to eat and an adequate Co-op for any essentials. We ate at Housmans Cafe Bar which is a buzzing restuarant in the heart of the village. All I can say is the food was amazing! I would highly recommend staying at Oaks Retreat, what a wonderful relaxing place to stay.

“Fantastic escape from our everyday chaos”

Reviewed 5 Sep 2016

We can't praise Oaks Retreat enough! We had the most fantastic 2 night stay, our only regret was that we weren't staying longer. Sipping bubbly in the hot tub was a definite highlight. The location is fab as there is so much in walking distance. We had a very tasty lunch in church stretton and also collected an Indian takeaway (10min walk). We walked through Rectory Woods just off the town square which led us to Cardingmill Valley and the Long Mynd, where you can enjoy fabulous views of the Shropshire hills. We loved our stay so much we have booked a longer stay for next year, can't wait!
