“Perfect” The cottage is in a great location. It has been tastefully refurbished and is nicely decorated. Everything we need is provided (except a hairdryer, however the reasons it is missing has been explained by the owner). Still a 5 star rating as everything else is perfect.

“Quiet comfort” I have stayed in hotels and cottages on Mull. From the early email exchanges to the warm welcome from Jean and alasdair I knew I had made the right choice. Even when it rains the sky, sea and landscapes can defy description. The rainbow views across the Sound from the garden were stunning. The house has good sized rooms, comfortable beds and a well equipped kitchen. There are CDs, Dvds, games, toys for the whole family. A home from home not an average rental,property. I was working rather than holidaying and the autumn peace was welcome. The wifi can be a bit iffy but generally works in the kitchen. A great place to stay whatever you are doing on Mull. 5 minutes walk from the heart of Tobermory. 45minutes by car from the Oban ferry.

“Really lovely cottage.” A lovely cottage. Great for exploring Edinburgh and the surrounding areas. Some lovely walks nearby around Preston Island. Very welcoming with the cottage warm and cosy for our arrival with essential provisions ready for us. A great weekend.

“Weekend away” Had a lovely short break at the start of December with my family. The accommodation had beautiful views, was clean, spacious and well equipped (I was also relieved to find a small stash of child friendly cups and crockery at the back of one of the kitchen drawers). The wood burning stove came with supplies and instructions (and a safety guard) creating a cosy atmosphere in the evening, and when my littlest children went to bed there were boards games available and a smart TV with Amazon to keep everyone else occupied. Both the cottage and garden were child friendly and my four kids had a great time playing outside. There is also a forest walk with the entrance through the gate at the back of the garden providing an easy way to access the walk (kids will need supervised). The owner was very helpful with good communication, and had prepared a manual for the cottage which provided lots of information which we found very useful. There is lots to do in the local area, we mostly did Christmas activities (Cairngorm reindeers, panto and santa express) but we will definitely return in the future over the summer holidays and would happily book another stay at Glencoldon cottage.
