“Total relaxation.” This was a fantastic find. Well equipped and very comfortable, 15 minute walk from the beach and coastal walks. Ideal for us and our 2 English Springer Spaniels. For a very good meal out try Ohlo in Eyemouth, excellent food at a good price.

“Lovely stay in a very comfortable cottage” We had a lovely long weekend stay in this super cottage. The place is very well equipped with comfortable beds, a cosy log burner and a very nice sunroom. Well located in Coldingham with easy access to the A1 for traveling to Northumberland or north to Edinburgh. Excellent communication with owner. Would recommend this property

Spotlessly clean and with some wow factor ( the bathroom and bed size ) it provided us with a very comfortable place to explore the local areas. “Amazing” Watch Cottage has to be up there with our favourite cottage holidays, magnificent place for our break. We loved getting live lobsters and crab from local fishermen. Sitting in the garden each day with our books and glass (or two) of wine. Thanks Beverley, we would really like to return.

“Fabulous Cottage in lovely village” The cottage was warm, cosy and well equipped. It includes internet access and a selection of films & books as well as lots of leaflets on places to visit. There are plenty of local walks and the coastline is stunning. We had a thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable week. Great location to base a holiday in the Scottish Borders.

“St. Margarets cottage Coldingham” Lovely cottage, clean, quaint and very private and quiet. Not keen on low ceilings in bedroom cause we keep banging our heads. That may be our problem cause getting out of bed during night you are not thinking about ceilings. If you want a peaceful, quiet time I fully recommend t this.

“Beautiful apartment in perfect location” We recently stayed at Lee Penn for a week and found the apartment to be clean, beautifully furnished and well equipped. The surrounding area is stunning with plenty to do especially if you like walking and mountain biking. Lucy and Dave were great hosts, extremely helpful and having them next door was an added bonus as they provided a lot of good information about bike trails and walks nearby. Lucy also gave my wife an introductory lesson in mountain biking which she thoroughly enjoyed. We stayed elsewhere in Peebles last April but after staying in Lee Penn this April would not think of staying anywhere else but Lee Penn when returning to the area again. A real gem of an apartment in a great location.

“Wonderful weekend” Had a fantastic weekend with family at this beautiful cottage. Location was excellent for Eyemouth and Coldingham Bay. Had a lovely meal in Eyemouth near the harbour and ice creams on the beach watching the world go by in Coldingham. The owners really have thought of everything you need for your stay, from hairdryers, candles even a torch for when it's dark and you need to walk the dog!! We loved it - you will too.

“A home away from home” My partner and I stayed at Allerton House Stables for 7 days, and it more than met our expectations. Chris and Carol gave us a warm welcome, then left us alone to enjoy our self-contained accommodation secure in the knowledge that they were next door if ever we needed anything. Allerton House Stables gave us more independence than a bed and breakfast arrangement. Nonetheless, we were given access to the main house and were able to borrow dvds and books. The accommodation was immaculate and very comfortable -- the bed was especially cosy. The location is ideal: quiet yet just a few minutes walk from the centre of the town. Just a few wee suggestions: it would be great if the wet room could somehow be converted into a dry bathroom, and a little extra cupboard space for food supplies would have been helpful. That said, I would highly recommend it. We'll certainly be back.

“A stunning property for a relaxing holiday.” My friends and I had a wonderful, relaxing weekend at The Old Manor. The house is in a beautiful spot overlooking the sea. Inside it is beautifully furnished with everything you would need to enjoy your stay. There are plenty of nice walks and places to visit . “Charming cottage” We have just spent three lovely nights at this cosy and spacious cottage. We have extended family in Melrose but there were too many family members visiting at the same time to all stay at their home so we conveniently stayed at this lovely cottage with our two young children (3 and 1). Claire and Donald arranged a travel cot for us which was perfect and Donald graciously welcomed us despite our arrival in the dark on our first night! Highly recommended and we'll certainly return next time we come to the UK to visit our extended family.

Borders holidays

This region of South East Scotland shares a border with England and is renowned for its hospitality and stunning scenery. With a rich (often turbulent) history, you’ll find plenty to see and do here, including hundreds of holiday rentals in the Scottish Borders to choose from.

About the Scottish Borders

Whilst the area was once heavily fought over, with a reputation for lawlessness, things have changed and today it’s the friendly locals and rich history which draw the crowds. Home to towns such as Melrose and Jedburgh with their ancient abbeys, the area has links to Sir Walter Scott and Robert the Bruce, and is also known as one of the finest spots for salmon and trout fishing in the world.

What to Do

Stop off at Glenkinchie Distillery, home to the Edinburgh Malt, for a wee dram.

With holiday rentals in the Scottish Borders to suit all tastes, you can enjoy a relaxing break or the great outdoors on your trip here.

The Old School House Bed & Breakfast
Lovely accommodation .

Great place to visit Scottish borders. Excellent host and really good breakfasts. One downside was that the village pub had been closed for 2 years, which meant working the day to get an evening meal outside Birgham, and not being able to have a drink because of the driving aspect. Some really nice places nearby both in Scotland and north Northumberland.see more
River View self catering holiday home
Stunning, comfortable, well specced holiday home A++

A fantastic property in a stunning location with all the facilities you could ask for to ensure your holiday is as comfortable as possible. Whether you are going for a family, mountain biking, golfing or rambling break this property will not disapoint. There wasn't a single complaint from any of the people in our mountain biking group with the house being very comfortable even with all six of us staying. Some places advertise for six people but it's an afterthought where as this easily housed all of us and all our gear. The welcome pack was greatly appreciated having some essentials when we arrived and even had some extra goodies that were not expected. The owners made sure that we were well informed throughout the booking process and during the stay helping us with any enquiries that we had and giving us some pointers for the local area. We will definitely be visiting again in the future.see more

St Ellas Townhouse
Good but not perfect

The house is clean, comfortable and well equipped and it made a great base for touring the area. The bread and milk provided was very welcome. The communication with Judith, the housekeeper, was good. Some minor points - the underfloor heating is not working in the kitchen and this was also mentioned in the visitor's book over a year ago but it still appears in the information. There is a huge amount of cleaning products in the kitchen cupboards and in the bathroom so there is no room for guest's food in the kitchen or toiletries in the bathroom. Although there is drawer space in the bedroom it needs a full length hanging rail or wardrobe as the current low down rail with its awkward hangers is not practical. There is also a large untidy pile of bedding in the corner of the bedroom. There is only one bedside light, as readers we would have liked one on each side. Please take this as constructive comments because we did enjoy our stay.see more
Coldingham Cottage - "Balfron"
Fantastic Holiday Home

Great place to stay if you are wanting a beach/walking holiday. This cottage is set in a lovely village. 2 pubs , spar and a brilliant butcher (Peter Walker) House is great and very spacious. Lots of room so you do not feel over crowded. The garden is one of the best gardens i have had when it comes to holiday homes. It is massive. The dog loved it, very secure. We only actually eat out once as the kitchen is well provided. Beach only a 15 min walk but you can drive to it, free parking. Great walk along the cliffs to Eyemouth or you could walk further. So many places to see. Barnard Castle is a must. We took a fire stick which did not fit TV. Got a HDMI cable which sorted this out. Parking at top of hill which is a 30 second walk. But you can park outside when arriving and leaving to unload your stuff. Never had a problem parking. Loved it so much we have booked for next year as we never got round doing the stuff we wanted to. Would i recommend to a friend, hell Yes!!!see more
