“A Gem of a find...........” Wonderful views greet you on arrival at this well equipped, clean cottage. The WiFi is a bonus. The host are very welcoming and friendly. The large enclosed garden was perfect for my hounds, I felt confident in letting of the lead as its completely fenced. Great walks straight from the cottage. There is so much to do and visit, I cant wait to go back in August and I'll be booking again for next year as its he perfect position for the two dog shows I attended over the weekend. I would highly recommend to family and friends
“You couldn't wish for more, absolutely fabulous!” We stayed in Aug 2014 with a family of 9 ranging from19yr olds to 74yr olds. The house is so homely and comfortable with all the facilities you could wish for. Many hours were spent in the conservatory enjoying the variety of local birds feeding off the nuts on the tree which is a foot away from the window, including a very nervous woodpecker!
I cannot fault the accommodation and the setting it stands in. It was ideally located for us as we were going to a family wedding in Gretna.
Overall I would highly recommend this property , you won't be disappointed.
We were all very impressed with the size of the house and the facilities on offer - the hot tub and barbecue were well used and there was plenty of space for the children to play. The surrounding area is picturesque and Hawick is a friendly town - we had a lovely evening out there. All in all it was the perfect place for our family holiday and we hope we can find another excuse to visit soon! …
Martinshouse Holiday Cottage
Welcoming pet friendly cottage
A peaceful pet friendly cottage, ideally located just off the A7. Within easy reach of all Scottish border towns. Owner was most pleasant and friendly and Barney (Dog) well was just Barney. Went up hill on fabulous walk with our two dogs (Mia and Macey) and came back with three(Hello Barney). Loved it!!!!!. Plenty of walks from the cottage long or short whatever you prefer. The cottage itself was very clean and comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. As the garden is wrap around you can have breakfast on one patio and afternoon tea and evening drinks on another whilst listening to sheep over the valley. Loved the break from start to finish and would have no hesitation to return - awaiting leave confirmation at work to re-book. Thank you all. …

Luxurious Shepherds huts in the Scottish Borders
Absolutely Perfect Stay
A fantastic place to stay. Easy to find and near Denholm which is beautiful. This is perfect for couples or families. A great escape from the city. Perfect stag weekend
I had my stag weekend at Mosspaul with 17 friends and couldn't have asked for a better experience. The owners are extremely friendly, helpful and on hand for any problems; but for all intensive purposes we had the entire run of the place. The highlight was obviously having our own bar - the novelty of which only wore off when it was time to clean up. The games room and cinema screen was perfect for the cup final weekend and recovering with classic films. Rooms were tidy, kitchen immense and the layout meant that people had enough space to enjoy the weekend while not experiencing any sort of cabin fever! Located in a lovely part of the world - we all left with extremely fond memories and aching kidneys. 34 thumbs up. …
