“Fabulous property.” A fantastic cottage in a friendly village. Fabulous interior with high quality bedding & interior. The garden is well maintained & a serene sanctuary with glorious views. A walk in shower would make it perfect, however this is a purely personal opinion. We will be back soon.!!
“Excellent, well-equipped cottage in a fine location” My wife and I stayed with our 3 year old and 6 month old daughters in Sept 2012. This was an excellent cottage in a good location. It is excellently equipped, with all the necessary mod-coms. Modern, yet remains very homely, and with a real eye for detail. The layout is very good, especially for young children to run around in (but not to be disturbed by the tv when sleeping at night), largely on a ground floor level, but with a really cosy loft bedroom upstairs. My 3 year old loved playing with the great selection of games left by the owners, and my wife and I had everything we could ask for with books, TV & wi-fi internet, and some slightly larger jigsaws. Travelcot and highchair available for the babe too.
Parking in courtyard and a small separate garden for the kids to enjoy too. It's also right next to the Caddyman's restaurant for a good mix of fine-dining & pub food (squirrel balls anyone?!). It might be not far away from a main road, but actually it is extremely quiet and far enough a way to not be a problem for the kids.
The Scottish Borders is an excellent place for a stress-free family holiday. An infinite number of walks in very attractive countryside, close to the town of Jedburgh to pick up groceries (and order a good curry!), with lots of other close towns (e.g. Kelso) and a large Sainsbury's not too far away. A good selection of play-parks, animal parks, castles, cafes and craft villages also close by, and only a 1-2 hour drive to get to the City of Edinburgh
Excellent price and very friendly, helpful owners. Can't fault it in the slightest. I'm already being pestered by my little ladies to go back again very soon. And we will!
