“Déjà vu , again :-)” This was our fifth (or more, lost count really) visit to Yethouse and once again it has been great.
Being keen MTB types the news of new MTB trails on the Newcastleton 7-Stanes was an added bonus. The new trails are graded Red/Blue and are definitely worth a visit.
To go with the new trails, a new Trailhead will be located at the north end of the village, near the new bridge over the river which was officially opened by the Duke of Buccleugh on Monday 7th July.
We've already booked for next year.
“5 star house” Stayed in this house with 6 friends on a reunion weekend and from the moment we arrived and were welcomed by Barbara it was a 5 star experience all round. The house is beautiful, from the fluffy white towels, crisp white bed linen and extremely comfortable beds, to the beautifully furnished rooms, hot power showers and big spacious kitchen. It is high end homely and very comfortable. We arranged for catering for dinner on the Saturday night and had an excellent meal prepared for us by chef Mary with no washing up to do afterwards, brilliant, and we would all highly recommend this. Barbara's gift of homemade lemon drizzle cake on arrival was very well received and all of the instructions for living in this lovely lovely house are very clear. Go stay here if you can, we had the best time and we will be back.
We stayed in this cozy house for a week's break in the lovely little village of Newcastleton. It had everything we needed and more. Nice little touches, milk in the fridge, delicious cake and even a coffee making machine. Tastefully decorated throughout and the bed was soooooo comfortable. The house overlooks the village square with its well kept lawns and flower beds. There are two hotels, shops, bakers, butchers and restaurants. Lovely walks, plenty of wildlife and birdlife, we even managed to spot a red squirrel. There is fishing in the river Liddle, mainly sea trout and the occasional salmon. We will be back. …
Dalkeith House 5* for 10, 5 bedrooms, short breaks, special occasions or longer!
Stunning house in stunning surroundings.
Myself and a group of nine friends travelled to Dalkieth House in Newcastleton for a long weekend. The house looked amazing on the website and we weren't disappointed, we were met by a lovely lady, who made sure everything was fine for us and also made us a yummy lemon drizzle cake. Beautiful large rooms withvery high quality fixtures and fittings. Every thing had been thought of and we were lucky enough to be blessed with sunshine which meant we could take advantage of the beautiful garden. Newcastleton had everything we needed and the surrounding countryside was stunning. We were all very sad to leave. …
We had a wonderful weekend away at the Yethouse. We were warmly welcomed to this beautiful and well-appointed holiday home. We were so lucky with the weather and a weekend of sunshine allowed us to enjoy the idyllic rural setting. The house itself offered everything we needed, from its well-equipped kitchen to its stacks of boardgames. There was plenty of space for everyone to relax and all the rooms were immaculate. We would have no reservation in recommending this property to families or groups of friends and we hope to return in the future. …
