“New Year family getaway”

Reviewed 25 Jan 2018

House was very clean, could do with a little updating though and a better stair gate ,also we thought when we arrived there was going to be a welcome pack, but sadly no. We are a family of 6 Adults, a 16 yrs, 11yrs 4yrs, and baby 7mths and a dog we all had a good time considering the weather we had. We didn't make it to the Crow Inn but some of us went to Eyemouth and Newcastle. We did have a lovely relaxing time with plenty food and drink as the poor cleaner would have found (lots of btls to get rid of, sorry).

Owner's reply: Glad you had a good stay at St Kilda and you had a relaxing time. Also sorry to hear you had no welcome basket , we do leave one out for every group that stay with us. If you had called we would asked the housekeep to pop by and sort this out for you. We will send you a little something in the post. Best wishes

8 adults and 1 dog enjoyed a relaxing christmas. Everyone had a great time. Rooms where lovely and the log burner in living room was enjoyed by all. Only recommendation i would say would be that christmas tree and decorations could be spruced up. But lovely to have a tree for presents to go under.

Owner's reply: Glad you all had a lovely time over Christmas....

We have just returned from a family weekend at St Kilda, 7 adults, 3 children and a baby. Lovely large clean home with the most amazing view out back. So quiet and peaceful everyone left feeling relaxed and refreshed. Highly recommend booking a table at the local pub too, the food was fantastic and a good range of beer. What a fabulous home!

Owner's reply: So glad you all had a good weekend, the pub for is great. Thank you for the lovely review Mary Clare

“Great Family get together”

Reviewed 24 Jan 2017

The house was very spacious, warm and comfortable. The welcome pack was great and it was lovely to make use of the log burning stove. The kitchen was very well stocked and we loved the huge table. The kids had a great time playing table football and ping pong. I would definitely recommend this house. We were 8 adults and 2 children and there was loads of space for us all.

Owner's reply: I am glad you all had a great week end and you have enjoyed staying at St Kilda

“Perfect family Christmas”

Reviewed 2 Jan 2017

We have just had the best Christmas ever. St Kida was absolutely perfect for our needs. The house is huge, spotlessly clean, warm and the kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed to cook Christmas dinner for 11. Our grandsons aged 5 to 13 loved playing table tennis in the garage and the garden was ideal for a game of football too. The house had been decorated for Christmas and we had a lovely tree in the small sitting room. Having the wood burning stove in the lounge was the icing on the cake although we all had to put on our summer clothes once it was lit ! The only one small point that I hesitate to mention but might be useful to others is that the sofa bed is really not suitable for an adult - when it is opened down as a bed the bar down the centre is extremely uncomfortable. We had an online shopping delivered from Sainsbury which was great. The next time we can have a family Christmas together we will definitely like to book St Kilda again. It's fantastic.

Owner's reply: St Kilda is a great house for a family Christmas as we have so much room. Glad your all had a good time.

“Excellent accommodation & location”

Superb accommodation - modern, clean, light and spacious. Excellent pub/restaurant within walking distance. Good access to wide range of beauty spots.

Owner's reply: Thank you for the lovely review and looking forward to seeing you again

“Excellent house for a group of friends”

Reviewed 27 Mar 2014

Booked St Kilda for a group of 10 (all in late 20s) and couldn't have found a better place. The house was very easy to find, in a lovely village and accessible for both Edinburgh and the Northumbrian Coast. The house itself was the perfect size, with a large dining kitchen with doors opening onto the back garden and the views across the field, which was the ideal spot for socialising. Particular highlight was the garage with second fridge, table tennis and table football tables, where a lot of time was spent. Mary Clare was very helpful in the lead up to our stay and there were nice, personal touches throughout, such as a welcome basket (with crisps and wnie - very much appreciated) and extra toiletries in case anyone forgot anything. This is a trip that this group makes reasonably frequently and we would definitely return to St Kilda.

“Top Notch Holiday Home!”

Reviewed 13 May 2013

We had a fantastic weekend stay at St Kilda celebrating a special birthday. Our group included young children and a dog. The holiday house had everything we could need and more. The kind welcome baskets for us and the dog where lovely and very thoughtful. The local pub is good for food. Highly recommend this property.

Owner's reply: I am glad you all had a great time and your birthday was fun. We hope to welcome you all back again. Thank you for coming

“Exceeded all of our expectations - no hesitation in recommending”

Reviewed 11 May 2013

We were a group of 8 woman getting together for my 40th birthday. Our only request was to indulge in comfort to have a girls weekend. The photos shown of the St Kilda house do not do the property justice. It certainly exceeded all of our expectations and can cater for the needs of couples, groups and families. It is incredibly spacious and has every item required to be home from home. We ate out at the Craw Inn on the Friday evening, (reservations were made prior to our arrival) the staff were very welcoming and the food was excellent! On the Saturday we made full use of the dining facilities at St Kilda to have an indulgent buffet and a few drinks in the garden. A perfect weekend for us all, we didn't even need to take an iPod dock as there was one in the dining kitchen. Again, I can't stress enough how spacious the property is, and it is furnished to a very high standard. We have already booked up for later in the year and again for next year.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. Delighted you enjoyed your birthday and you all enjoyed your stay. Look forward to seeing you all soon.

“A superb family holiday home in The Borders”

Reviewed 10 May 2013

The website is very good - but you have to visit St Kilda to really appreciate the facilities on offer. The views from every angle are stunning - and the village setting is charming and relaxing. You are in the middle of "lots-to-do" attractions, and a week is not long enough to manage all of them. The house is extremely comfortable, very spacious, and really well-equipped. and the owners are very helpful in making arrangements - so-much-so we have booked again for Easter 2014. Can't wait!! One of the best holiday properties we have stayed in over the past 13 years!!
