“Kind hosts” A lovely, clean house. Kind and considerate hosts who left essentials for us including wine. The house is in a fantastic position for exploring Mainland Orkney on which there was so much to do, the four days we gave it were not enough. Some might rue the absence of a bath, but the shower is very good.

“Would have stayed forever!” Sherwood Cottage is everything we imagined and more. Aside from being spotless, it provided all the amenities we needed. The kitchen was well stocked for all our cooking experiences, the bedrooms were cozy and spacious and the bathrooms were a real treat, especially the tub! After long days of hiking and exploring, we felt like we were coming home instead of to a rental property. The huge yard and gardens were beautiful and so safe for our seventeen month old grand daughter. Thank-you so much for the pride you take in this lovely cottage.

“Fab House with stunning views” We spent 6 days in this beautiful house- everything you need is there and all top spec. Close to all the archeological sites, lovely walks and right next to two RSPB reserves so amazing wildlife! We spent many an hour - especially breakfast and sundowners - watching the waves, birds, cows, ponies and changing weather! All in all a wonderful break and Joan was so helpful with directions and making sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend Brockan Cottage!

“Great location, wonderful views, very comfortable accommodation.” Comfortable and well-equipped accommodation with great views and facilities. The location on West Mainland is perfect: a short drive from stunning cliff-top walks which are ideal for bird-watching. The island's world famous archaeological sites -- Skara Brae, the Ring of Brodgar and Maeshowe -- are all nearby. The towns of Stromness and Kirkwall are a short drive. Also well placed for ferry to smaller islands including Hoy and Westray and to visit Scapa Flow. Fiona and family were very welcoming and helpful.

“A Lovely Tranquil House” A very comfortable, spacious house with fine beds and cheerful decor. It is also most conveniently located in Kirkwall. My family party had a lovely stay. Good garden/outside space too for al fresco dining. Minor issues: it could do with a DVD player and more cutlery, crockery etc. and a bigger fridge.

“Great wee house, perfectly placed for exploring Orkney!” This is a well appointed wee house and perfectly placed for exploring Orkney and all it has to offer. There are a couple of hotels nearby where you can eat out (but book first!) or you can eat in and the kitchen is very well stocked. It's just the right size for a couple and has everything you need (including the owners cats if, like us, you are missing your own cat!!)
