“Immaculate, well situated and superbly furnished/fitted” Brekka lodge has everything you would find at home, and more. The kitchen was extremely well kitted out, everywhere was impressively clean and tidy, and the sight of oyster-catchers feeding on the lawn outside the window (plus you own 'personal' beach) made the location perfect for us.

“Truly home from home!” We have now stayed at The Decca 3 times - each time for a week and hope that our recent visit won't be our last. We have stayed in 3 of the appartments. The first time we stayed in Skarf, the second in Peerie Swaabie and the third in Grey Gos - all on the ground floor. We loved staying in all three. Steve and Gillian have thought of everything and make every effort to be eco-friendly. It is unusual to stay somewhere where I cannot think of anything that we need to take with us. The kitchens are very well equipped, the bathrooms are wetrooms and so suitable for disabled and beds are comfortable. The position of the The Decca is high on the hill and so has good views from the grounds. Being exposed, it is a bit blowy at times but that did not seem to be a problem! It is within a short drive of the town and a supermarket, but near roads to access the rest of the island/s. A car is essential unless you like steep hill walking! Whenever I have had a query, Steve and Gillian have been very quick to respond and most helpful.

“great location, nice and quiet and easy to get out & about” The property was in a good location for travelling around Shetland, and there was a rucksack available for use during your stay, which contained maps of the North and South mainland and the islands, which we found very useful. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Everything that you needed was available including diswasher, washing machine, DVD player,towels and t-towels, and there was easy parking at the property. There were also games and books available, and a welcome pack.

“Hidden gems in both property and owners” Your every wish is catered for, Gillian and Steve are the most hospitable and accommodating hosts our party have had the pleasure to stay with, a real home from home experience. Along with the supreme standard of cleanliness they reall have tought of everything and the smallest of thoughtful touches do make all the difference. If you require a transfer to the accommodation, they will be there for you and your party. We were blown away with the fact that were hot water bottles, which were topped by the backpack in the hall as this held a map aswell as a flask, how fab.

About the Shetland Isles
This archipelago of over 100 islands is sparsely populated, with only 15 of the islands inhabited.
