“Perfect For All Attractions” "Hengoed Cottage" is the TARDIS of the self catering Cottages from the outside it looks very inviting with the timber Decking area to have your drinks on a sunny day or evening. What took us by surprise was how well the cottage is equipped, you would be hard pressed to find anything that you needed in the kitchen or other wise that was not catered for. Our 6yr old Grandson was pleased to find his bedroom had two beds one for him and one for his friends Micky Mouse, Poo bear and his giant Dopey the Dwarf and Wifi for his ipad. If you wanted to use the bus service Arriva (bus stop at the end of the road) Arriva do a ticket for all day travel for £3:90pp with your freedom pass which we used to great effect. We would not hesitate to return or recommend to others.
“Brilliant house- highly recommended” Our second visit to Conwy Lodge was as great as the first. Lovely and clean on arrival with tea, coffee, biscuits and milk. Good quality towels and bedding provided. Lovely enclosed garden- safe for toddlers and we got to use the garden furniture this year!!
Surrounded by a field which this year contained cows- makes you feel like you're in the countryside when in fact you are less than 10 minutes drive to both beaches and all shops.
We had an issue with the electricity on Sunday evening which was very swiftly rectified by Mark from the management team.
Very pleased again with our visit here and hope we can return again.
“Stunning location, cosy cottages.” We have stayed at both The Stable and The Dairy, the latter was May 2011 and we stayed at The Stable in May 2008. Both cottages are extremely cosy and comfortable and in an absolutely stunning location. I really felt the need to add a review after reading the last awful comment left by the family who stayed in August 2011. I'm totally shocked that they could describe such a beautiful place in such a negative way. I have read the guest books in each cottage and I can honestly say there wasn't one bad comment and guests seem to return again and again, so that says it all! So to sum things up in short, Angle beach is CLEAN, safe and just 2 minutes walk. There are stunning coastal walks, one we did was to Freshwater West beach, amazing views of sea and countryside (not industrial), oh there may be slight glimpses of BP Milford Haven, but that's more mystical in a funny way than ugly. The cottages themselves are well equipped and cosy, a lovely base to go back to after a great day out in this fantastic area. Last point to mention, you don't have to go all the way to Pembroke dock to shop, there's a perfectly good Co-op in the beautiful medieval town of Pembroke, which is 10-15 minutes drive.
“Lovely cottage in a great location” Title says it all really, centrally located within Hay on Wye, no where is more than 5 mins walk. Cosy cottage with good size bedrooms, comfortable beds, good kitchen and outdoor area to relax in. Would recommend to anyone going to Hay.
“Excellent comfortable, cosy & quiet accomodation in a beautiful area of South Wales” The cottage is excellent. It is very modern, well equipped and very suitable to travelling couples although it will accommodate up to 4 people. It is situated in a quiet residential area of Mumbles with no more than a 5-10 minute stroll to the huge Swansea Bay.
The cottage is a completely separate part of the owners Chris and Sarah's property who may I add were superb hosts for which nothing was too much trouble.
One of the reasons we chose Riversdale Cottage was its actual location and we were richly rewarded.. It is ideally situated to explore the absolutely delightful Gower Peninsula with its beautiful coastline & beaches. There are also a number of beautiful country parks nearby i.e Clyne Valley, Gnoll, Margam and Afan Forest. Should you wish to venture a little further than why not try the Brecon Beacons or the delightful Tenby.
I have no reservation at all in recommending Riversdale Cottage and although we never usually return to the same area or holiday accommodation we may make an exception with Riversdale Cottage and the Gower.
Thanks once again to Chris and Sarah for their hospitality.
“Fantastic stay” Lovely cottage, found clean & tidy on arrival. Very spacious for the five of us, 3 adults, 2 children & our dog. Had everything we needed, wifi a bonus. Amazing views to wake up to every morning, enough parking space for both cars and the green area across the road through a small gate was great for taking the dog for walks, leads to a little beach too. Short walk into Barmouth with lots of places to eat and drink, shops, amusements and a fair for the kids and beautiful beaches, also a co-op to do a bit of shopping. Would recommend Harlech for a drive out. Overall a great holiday and would stay at this cottage again if we return to Barmouth anytime.
“So impressed and happy we've already booked 2018!!!!” Absolutely delightful property and location. Superbly finished with all facilities and amenities required for a break. Short stroll to the beach, shops, and all local dog friendly hostelries. Debbie, the host, is quick to reply and extremely helpful with all necessary details and information for the property and also the local area for places to see and visit.
“cosy, comfortable, full of character” Pencraig is a wonderful, get away from it all holiday cottage. It's well equipped, cosy and has a wealth of books, games and art to keep you amused inside, plus there are two tables to sit at outside. It's situated in an ideal position - halfway between two beaches, with the spectacular coastal path to walk between them. Both the village stores (which has won awards for being so friendly and helpful) and the garage are great places to shop - try their honey and spelt bread and the local organic cheese. The Preseli hills are a great place for food - try and get some of the local honey if you can, it smells of freshly mown grass and gorse flowers. Wherever you go, there is something to discover and this being Wales, everyone is friendly and helpful. Mike, the cottage owner, is very helpful and an extremely interesting person. We had a fantastic week here!
“Encapsulates the true essence of Wales” I stayed with my family at this truly stunning barn conversion in mid December 2012, and have since rebooked to stay at the same time again this year. The setting is tranquil, comprising lush landscaped gardens, a proportionate play area for the children, and above all, an immaculate, spacious barn, with an extremely tasteful and lavish interior that took our breath away. The owners of the property were very helpful and pleasant and made us feel so welcome. The experience was flawless. My only regret is that we didn't extend our stay!
I would definitely recommend this barn to anyone - its fit for a Queen!
“Beautiful Brecon Beacons Holiday Let” This beautiful, self contained cottage is in the heart of the Brecon Beacons, and a great base for some excellent walks. The owners live in the attached house so are close by if needed. The lovely grounds of the house are available to anyone staying in the cottage. The cottage itself is very well appointed with all the necessary luxuries for a great get-away. There are a number of excellent, renowned, restaurants in the area for those who like fine dining.
“Perfect location” The location is superb with both beach and coastal path within minutes of the cottage door, the cottage is a peaceful retreat at the end of a day's walking around the islands many stunning places.
“The Perfect Getaway” We have just returned from our stay at this cottage and have had a perfect holiday. The cottage is top quality and has everything you could wish for and more! The view from the bedroom balcony is stunning, and a lovely place to relax with a glass of wine. The location is excellent, away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to visit the many local attractions. We look forward to returning during the cooler months so that we can enjoy the wood burner. Many thanks to Ann and Peter for the wine to celebrate our anniversary, such a lovely thing to do. I will be recommending this cottage to family and friends. Thankyou!!
“would thoroughly recommend for all dog owners” A lovely cottage which is all flat, and a very beautiful and all enclosed garden overlooking the sea with very special view. For my dog it was perfect, he let himself in and out, it was all flat and he had his dog bed put in front of the window - a bed with a fabulous view. For my elderly mother who is not great on stairs at all, it was perfectly laid out. The kitchen is superb for self catering, & the best view I have had when peeling carrots and potatoes ( make sure you get an order from Tescos delivered). We had a wonderful week of tootling to beaches - fell in love with Port Eynon and the Mumbles, spent a lovely afternoon at Rhossili and Oxwich is great if its inclement weather. But really we enjoyed sitting in the garden or lounge equally with super views, only the sound of birds, bees and sheep - it also has more butterflies than I have seen in ages! A very comfortable cottage with high quality fittings throughout that we would recommend to anyone. Dog lovers especially this one is at the top end of any I have ever found.
“Cosy cottage not too far off the beaten track.” Picked this location to explore the many beaches to the North of the island. It was perfect for that and coming "home" in the evening to light the fire was a real treat. This cottage is well equipped and has all you would need in your home from home.
“Cosy, compact, quirky, very near to Three Cliffs Bay and has everything you need!” The holiday cottage is just as outlined in the description, based in a lane where other similarly quirky chalet-style buildings are situated. There are lots of lovely touches which makes it very homely and the owners have thought of everything so it is well-equipped. Five adults and a golden retriever stayed for 4 nights. The kitchen is quite compact which meant it wasn't easy if we all tried to be in there at the same time. It wasn't quite warm enough to spill out on to the patio area - which would actually be a lovely place to have breakfast and BBQs if the weather had been better.
The owner isn't based locally but was able to sort out some initial hiccups that we came across when we arrived and we appreciated the fast and proactive response.
All in all, a lovely, relaxing stay away from the hubbub of town life!
“Holds a special place in my heart and highly recommend” I have been staying here with my family since I was a little girl and now love returning with my own family. It is just as good coming with friends which I have also done a few times so is suitable for adults and families alike.
The farm is a lovely location to base your stay in a lovely part of Wales. Walking down to the beach through the fields is only a short walk and any children staying will enjoy seeing all the sheep and cows!
The courtyard next to the cottage is a fantastic place to enjoy meals outdoors, to read the paper or let the children play whilst admiring the sea view. The accommodation ticks all the boxes, is clean, has a fully equipped kitchen and is nice and cosy! The laundry room is a bonus too!
We love feeding Sugar and Spice the ponies who have been there as long as we have been visiting.
The thing that really makes this farm special is Mrs Pugh and family who always make us feel so welcome.
I would highly recommend this to anyone looking at staying.
