“Very nice place” Cosy, nice place. Everything was clean and very nice decorated. When we got there it was quite cold outside. Was a nice surprise that the host arrange that the cottage was warm for us. We definitely recommend Jasmine cottage.

“Rural Retreat” Woodland cottage is a lovely place to stay. It is near Cartmel for those that need a village close by and yet the setting of the cottage is wonderful, particularly if you have a dog. The garden is superb and enclosed which is very useful. The cottage is just as described by John H the owner who cares about his visitors and ensures you have everything you need for an enjoyable stay. If you are looking for 5 star luxury with gold plated fittings then try The Swan Hotel at Newby Bridge- but if you want down to earth home comfort, in a cozy cottage then this is the place to stay.

“Perfect house for the sights of Keswick” Enjoyed a fantastic trip to Keswick for my husband and best friend's joint birthday celebrations. All eight of us found the property both beautifully appointed and perfectly located; the town square is a couple of minutes walk. Wish we could have stayed longer, but will definitely be returning in the near future.

“Family celebration” Todhills Farm was a fantastic venue for a family celebration get-together. As long term "self- caterers" we appreciated all the top quality facilities and equipment. The bedroom layout meant the adults didn't have to worry about disturbing the wee ones once they were in bed. The contents of a very generous hamper were much appreciated and enjoyed. The weekend weather was very kind and allowed us to enjoy the wonderful views and local walks. I hope we can gather our scattered family for another stay in the not too distant future.

“Great, central location in Kewsick, comfortable and well equipped.” A beautifull house, great location in Keswick. Easy to access the fells and the town on foot. The house is spacious, comfortable, well decorated. The kitchen had all the requirements for catering for a large group. There were amble bathrooms. would definitley recommend a stay here.

“Superb accommodation, lovely environment” We like Beckside/Southwaite Green so much that 2010 is the third time we stayed and this time we invited two other families to join us, in two of the other buildings. Marna is great - she's on hand to help out with any queries but is sensitive enough to keep a low profile too. The accomodation is always spotlessly clean and fresh and is of the highest quality - a really good, thoughtful refurbishment of lovely old farm buildings and with the great achievment of being carbon neutral. We have visited during cold and warm weather and can confirm the underfloor and solar heating is really effective! The site itself is great - this year we had 7 children with us, all of whom had room to roam and who really enjoyed paddling in the beck, looking for frogs and toads by the pond and running around in the grounds - it wasn't quite warm enough to take advantage of the barbecue area but that looked good for summer months. Southwaite Green is located about 20 mins from Keswick (leisure pool for the kids!)and not far from Cockermouth and Lorton, a lovely area although we tended to drive to other walking areas - Borrowdale, Langdale etc. What did we like best? The freedom and relaxation it brought all of us, particularly the children. What did we like least? The CD player! Minor detail, sorry Marna!

“the best experiae ever” I know am ganna like it since the first contact with Marna, first of all; she is just brilliant, soo helpful, kind and generous. She gave me all the information I need she was so welcoming and supported us with whatever we asked her for.. The place is like haven, clean, comfy and inspiring.. The cottages well equipped and hardly you look for anything and you don't find it available there.. I will never ever think to spend any short or long leave not in that place

“Perfect location, with amazing scenery and pubs within walking distance” Comfortable, homely accommodation, set in an historic barn conversion made a lovely peaceful base from which to explore the beautiful Lake District. The cottage was equipped with everything we would need and was always lovely and warm. We found, Greg the owner, to be very friendly, and knowledgeable about local attractions and the vast number of Walks from the doorstep and the wider area. The village itself is surrounded by beautiful scenery with 2 good pubs on your doorstep and several others within a short drive. A visit to the 500 year old Watermill just over the bridge is essential.

“Great remote location” If you want somewhere quiet this is a really good location. Three pubs (one good two excellent) in walking distance so we didn't use the self-catering facilities at all... We have stayed in these cottages 3 times now. Well apointed, clean and comfortable. Graet garden. Good location for walking or climbing either from the cottage, from the steam railway or with a short car drive. If you want shops etc it's not for you.

“Great Location” We stayed at Whillan Beck cottage for the last week in July 2011. We’re really fussy about the cleanliness of holiday accommodation, so were really pleased with the excellent standard we found at Whillan Beck, it was very clean and well maintained. The cottage is small but well laid out and ideal for two people. It’s located towards the end of a no through road so there is no noise from passing traffic. There are occasional visitors on foot to the small watermill at the other side of the bridge and walkers heading towards Wasdale which is some five miles away over Eskdale moor. If you’ve had a long day on the fells and don’t fancy preparing dinner, there are two pubs within five minutes walk of the cottage that do meals. If the sun is shining there’s and enclosed lawned area to the rear of the cottage with seating, add a good book, the sound of the near by beck and a glass of wine perhaps and it makes for a pleasant relaxing afternoon/evening. On our next visit to the Eskdale area we will definitely be looking to stay here again.

“Feel the stress melt away” I arrived at Stanley Ghyll cottage (part of Bridge End Farm cottages) made myself a coffee went out into the garden and all I could hear was the sound of birdsong, and the nearby beck - bliss!! Stanley Ghyll is just big enough for 2 but the other cottages cater for larger groups/families. Everything you need is already there,Ann the housekeeper very friendly and helpful. The cottage has a comprehensive guide to the surrounding areas with suggestions for things to do and places to visit with detailed directions. The only negative point (for me a bonus!) is that immediately in and around the cottages there is no mobile phone signal, however as you drive further afield the signal returns. There is a payphone in the laundry room and a telehone box across from the village shop from which you can text and email. The laundry room also has internet access. The Boot Inn is 2 minutes walk away and a hotel at the bottom of the road,a 5 minute walk. If you are keen on walking you are in heaven and the scenery is stunning. I fully intend to return this year.
