Properties on Holiday Lettings can be sorted/ranked in the following ways:
Orders properties using various data points, in particular: ratings, number of bedrooms/bathrooms, minimum number of nights, and data relating to the interest in/bookings of the property through us, including the advertiser’s rate of providing quotes to travellers who make enquiries. Other factors include price, property capacity, number of photographs, location, amenities, appearance in search results, page views, and the advertiser’s responsiveness and cancellation rate.
Price low to high / high to low
Orders properties based on either (i) the property’s minimum nightly price, if the traveller has searched without dates, or (ii) the average nightly price for the applicable week of the year, if the traveller has input dates.
Orders properties by total number of reviews attached to the listing (highest to lowest), irrespective of average score. Where there is a listing with the same number of reviews as another (or a listing with no reviews), properties are sorted according to their proximity to the searched location.
“An amazing place to stay!!” Such a lovely place! Absolutely immaculate, equipped with everything you need and more to make your stay enjoyable and hassle-free.
It is on a main (ish) road, but you can't hear anything inside the cottage nor in the back garden. I stayed on my own (with my bike - for which there is a secure shed) but I will definitely come back with kids and hubby! And Andrew the owner is extremely helpful, accommodating and replies promptly to emails. (Oh and great location too, off Penrith and 4.5miles from Ullswater lake)
“Orton Hall a lovely retreat” My partner and I stayed in early July, and although the weather was mixed, Orton Hall itself was lovely. We stayed in the Royalist Suite, and it was as advertised. It was clean, warm and very well equipped. All appliances were fully functioning and very clean. The parlour and bedroom were very comfortable, and the bay window was a lovely place for breakfast. I would highly recommend staying to anyone.
“Homely sanctuary.” Stayed with my mum and boxer dog. The cottage had everything you needed to unwind and relax including stunning views, amazingly prolific birdlife, clear starlit skys a cosy welcoming environment. Kirkby Stephen a short drive away is great for walking and exploring.
“Extremely enjoyable stay” I have stayed at this cottage 8 or 9 times which is testament in itself to the property and location. The owner has always been very helpful and friendly to the extent that we now consider ourselves to be good friends. Nateby enables easy access to both the Dales and the Lakes and has a rail service within easy travelling distance. The upgrade ot the lounge with new settees and television make the stay even more enjoyable.
“Fabulous cottage in a superb location” I've been holidaying in country cottages all my life (35 years) and must say this is one of the best yet. Absolutely fantastic cottage with beautiful antique furniture and in a superb location to enjoy walks in both the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. No mobile phone or TV for a week was utter bliss too!
