COVID-19 Update July 2020:

To support our reopening we've adopted a number of new COVID-19 policies we'd like to share with you.

-More intensive cleaning regime between guests using bleach and disinfectant on all surfaces

- Minimum of one week between bookings to avoid back to back rentals, and for the hygiene of more difficult items to disinfect such as soft furnishings and carpets

-Only offering contact free check in

-Additional provision of cleaning materials and hand sanitizer for use of guests

-Asking that all guests please refrain from visiting the cottage if they experience any symptoms of COVID-19 before their stay

Jasmine Cottage is a beautiful 18th century bungalow in the heart of Eamont Bridge. Situated within a 15 minute walk of Penrith, attractions such as King Arthur's Round Table and Mayburgh Henge, as well as two pubs, are on your doorstep. A short drive takes you to the Ullswater valley and all the attraction of the Lake District, or head east and explore the more secluded Eden Valley.

Recently restored, Jasmine Cottage features two bedrooms (1x King, 2x Single), an airy and spacious living/kitchen area and a large shower. There's a sink to wash your boots in outside, a garden front and rear and a cosy feeling of home throughout this compact hideaway.

Unwind watching the large smart TV or using our complementary WiFi, or draw the curtains and settle into the comfy sofas with a good book. Use as base for exploring on bicycle or foot, or for trips out into the beautiful Cumbrian landscapes. Jasmine Cottage is an ideal retreat for those wanting a taste of local life.

Children of all ages are welcome at Jasmine Cottage, but you may find the doorways awkward for pushchairs and the short walk to the car challenging if staying with babies or toddlers, hence the not suitable for children marker on the listing. Getting around

Penrith is served by regular rail services on the West Coast Main Line, look for those stopping at Penrith North Lakes. Jasmine Cottage is a five minute drive or 30 minute walk from this station. Penrith town centre is a 15 minute walk, or a 2 minute drive. There is a regular bus service stopping in the village, and taxis can be ordered from Penrith.

Interaction with guest

Keys can be collected from a secure lock box, and returned the same way. If you need to get in touch, the owners live just up the road and are happy to help. Check in is completely contactless.

Spent four days in Jasmine and not a single negative thing to say. Gift on arrival as well as milk in the fridge. Towels, hair dryer, iron - whatever you can think of - all available. Shed at back to store our bikes. Spotless and the owner had clearly gone 'over and above' with regards to Covid responsibilities. Comfy and spacious. Great location for N.E Lake District - 5 mins from Penrith or M6. Two hundred yards away from a three mile gentle uphill off-road ride or run to Lowther Castle. Parking less than two minutes walk.

Myself and my partner booked to come here as it was close and convenient for Trek26 in Penrith that we took part in. Amazing cottage, very very clean, modern and equipped with everything that’s needed to make it feel like home. The beds were comfortable and the shower was superb. There is a pub right opposite the cottage (The Beehive) which was also lovely and welcoming and convenient if you didn’t want to cook! The box of chocolate and Prosecco was an added treat when we arrived (which we thoroughly enjoyed after walking 26 miles around Ullswater Lake). Thank you Andrew for a pleasurable stay, would definitely recommend to friends and family and we’re already finding a date to come back!

Why can't I call Andrew (the owner) before booking?

You can exchange contact details with the property owner/manager once your booking is confirmed and you’ve paid in full. Paying and communicating only through our platform allows us to ensure that your booking is covered by our Payment Protection policy.

If you have any questions before booking, you can send the property owner/manager a message via the contact form on their listing. Once you’ve booked, you can discuss the rental and make arrangements for your trip by logging into Manage my booking.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Andrew (the owner) a message.

If Andrew (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
