“A lovely character cottage in a friendly village” My husband, myself and my sister had a relaxing week in this cottage. It was cosy but open spaced with good light, and had flexible space. Wood was available for an open fire if needed, and satellite TV provided evening entertainment, and there were some toys and books for children in the wardrobe. There were 2 bathroom, one next to a twin and one ensuite in the master bedroom. The kitchen was modern with good facilities, and there was a washing machine outside. We enjoyed our breakfasts on the patio. Minehead and Dunster were within easy driving distance, though the buses looked good too. The village had a good pub with excellent food, though you needed to book as the pub closes if it isn't busy. The countryside around is spectacular. We spent the time visiting National Trust properties and the journey was as interesting as the properties. I would definitely visit again.
A good week, comfy beds, great shower, well equipped and convenient location for nearby attractions and walks on the moors. Nice private garden that was a great sun trap.

“Lovely Bank Holiday Retreat” We spent the August bank holiday in Bath! The apartment is in the best location! Literally 5 minutes from the centre and yet the street is so quiet. The apartment itself is stunning. Modern decor with classic touches like the ceiling rose and wooden shutters. The beds were really comfortable with the finest linen provided. Everything was great. We'll definitely we back again!
“Really Good, Perfect Retreat After Hectic Shopping Trip” Group of 4 Stayed, Both rooms were set out as double's, Good to have seperate bathrooms for both rooms to use.
Lovely finish to the whole place, welcome pack was.. Welcome, loved the views from main living area + distance into City centre was just about right (Too far to walk, but bus stop right outside & recommended Taxi drivers did us proud).
We have been to Bath several times, over the years, but the guide left for us was spot on, local knowledge is always the bomb!! Found a few new places to visit, Christmas market was brilliant fun (Breakfast At All Bar One Helped), Stollen & Glueweine, Free Samples From Stalls & Friendly locals made this a perfect pre-christmas treat.
Had a great night out at the Komedia on the Saturday Night (Highly Recommended).
The ability to get away from the crowds & city centre, getting far enough out to give the belief that you were in a differnt town, was really good.
The Cottage was very well presented, In a very quiet location. It was clean and tidy and everything we needed for the stay was provided.… More

“Perfect place to explore from” This is the perfect cottage to explore the area from - the village itself is lovely and quiet, with a post office and two local convenience stores a few hundred yards from the cottage, an excellent fish and chip shop a few minutes walk away and a wonderful little Tea Room next to the fish and chip shop, the pub next door to the cottage is friendly, busy but quiet - much like the village.
With a car you can cover a very wide area - from close cities such as Bath and Bristol to the middle distance places such as Wells, and the likes of Salisbury, Cheddar Gorge etc. Don't let the lack of car put you off this delightful little cottage however- we didn't have one as we took the train down to Bath and then a taxi out to Timsbury. The bus stop for Bath is just an extra few hundred yards away from the cottage past the shops. They might not be frequent but we caught the 0947 most days, meaning that we were in Bath about 30 minutes later - plenty of time to visit all the museums etc. before catching the bus home - there are some real hidden gems of museums dotted around which are well worth looking at, and all the places we visited were well worth the entrance fee. The bus stop for Bristol is a little further away on the other edge of the village, but this only took about 1 hr to get to Bristol.
The cottage itself is wonderfully homely - the small kitchen area is just big enough when on holiday as we don't tend to eat in for all three meals, meaning that even when we were cooking it wasn't anything major. There is a nice little fridge, but there is an extra one under the stairs just in case. The living room has a log burner that thankfully we didn't need to use! The leather sofa was comfy, although it wasn't great for my mum's replacement hips - we just piled the cushions dotted around the house onto it, and an extra pillow from upstairs - sorted. The dining room at the front of the property has an extensive collection of leaflets and information on the surrounding area (to which we added a few of ours) - well worth reading through some of these if you haven't worked out what you want to look at in advance.
The bedrooms are really comfy - and spacious - the quietness of the pub comes into its own in the back bedroom as once the curtains are drawn it's hard to tell it's even there! The bathroom is nicely done - and has a bath and shower, which is pretty good considering it's the smallest room upstairs. The only downside for some will be the step up into the shower - again it could have been an issue for mum, but we sorted it by just having her being helped in, and then out again.
Rachel (the owner) is really friendly and helpful - we contacted each other a few times before and during our stay, and she even helped out with letting us know that the buses didn't run that often through the village in case we needed to change our mind before finalising the booking. The coffee, milk and biscuits on arrival was just what we needed.
If we ever come back to Bath, we'll definitely be looking into staying here again.
“A well equiped home from home” A lovely place to stay. Everything you could ever need in the kitchen, very comfortable and spacious (especially the master bedroom!). Met the owners on the day we checked in who were very friendly and full of useful tips & advice about the local area.

“Perfect cottage for our stay in Portishead” The Fisherman's Cottage was a wonderful place to stay in Portishead while we visited my daughter who lives around the corner on Lockside. We had a great view of the Severn estuary and a short walk to the lock and marina. Costa Coffee and Waitrose also an easy walk away. The bedrooms were fine with enough closet space for our things. The bathrooms were modern and everything was spotless. Since we were there for 3 weeks, the Mayes even had someone come in the 2nd week to do a cleaning which was very nice. All in all a perfect fit for us and would highly recommend.

“Fabulous!” The barn was perfect for our girls' weekend in Bath! The property is beautifully furnished & provided a warm, cosy retreat for a relaxing stay. It is very luxurious & the lovely finishing touches made our weekend away feel extra special. It is also perfectly situated in a peaceful location yet is just a short walk from the city centre.
We would thoroughly recommend the barn. Thank you for a fantastic stay!
“comfy, clean and welocming apartment just walking distance from bath centre” me and a friend stayed at the apartment for two nights over a weekend,
the beds were warm and comfy, and the area that the apartment is situated is very quiet, we wasnt disturbed once
no hassle, and a great value accommodation, with easy access the nightlife, resturants and shops!
the area and apartment were equally lovely, would definatly stay here again!
“Highly recommended.” Lovely roomy clean and well equipped caravan. Site well maintained with swimming pool and play area for children. Close to the beach with view of the sea from the front of the caravan and of the steam trains at the back which our little grandson enjoyed watching.
“Beautiful property and great owners” Such a beautiful property in an ideal central location. Booked for a hen party and everyone commented on how lovely the property was. Great communal spaces and the beds were soooo comfortable. Any questions sent to the owners were responded to quickly. Couldn’t have asked for a better centrally located property, it helped to make a perfect weekend.
“Beautiful cottage, really friendly and helpful owner.” The house was newly refurbished. Really comfortable and immaculately laid out. Great beds, great shower, well-equipped, modern kitchen. And we were welcomed by a bottle of wine in the fridge!
