“Excellent!” Truly excellent holiday let! We book a lots of weeks away in holiday cottages around the UK & this one was one of if not THE best. Very well maintained, cute petite holiday property. Couldn't fault anything. Steps to property & parking were as described and is ideally suited for those of good mobility.
Would 100% recommend this property to those seeking a peaceful pretty property in a lovely location but a short 5 minute drive to Darley Bridge Village & 10 minutes into Matlock.
“Mrs” Lovely comfortable, clean house, well equipped with all facilities including games and linen. Lovely welcoming messages. Good communication. We couldnt have asked for anywhere better for a family get together.
Had a lovely weekend here with family. Very well thought out great entertainment for the kids with games and a wii. Good location for the illuminations. Limited parking but plenty available in the car… More
“22 of us.......Perfect for all” We were five families including adults, teenagers, kids and babies who stayed over New Year at Castle Hill House.
We all had a great time. Within the house, and on its grounds, we were all catered for.
Coming and going is easy from a very accessible and secure 'on-grounds' car park.
The specification is high and Andrew & Lisa have worked very hard to keep or renew period features. Every room has a luxurious feeling and yet practical enough to withstand exuberant kids!
The layout is perfect for group activities with enough comfy nooks in which just a few people, or Dad with the newspaper, could relax.
All of the bathrooms and bedrooms are clean and bright too. Some of the views are really cool overlooking the Castle to the rear and a green to the front.
The kitchen was a constant focal point for all and well equipped to keep everyone happy.
Loads of good pubs with good food within a few minutes walk.
Andrew & Lisa made the booking arrangements and communication very easy and this put us at ease right from booking, introduction around the house and leaving. We would definitely recommend this venue to groups of Friends or family.

Thank you for your kind review. We are so pleased you had a fantastic weekend and glad the Christmas decorations helped you get into the festive spirit!
“Lovely apartment in an excellent location” We stayed in this apartment for a weekend in August.
The apartment itself is lovely, with everything you could need. It's well decorated and clean and has great views over the countryside from the living room. The owner (Alison) was extremely helpful and hospitable and provided all the little extras and things that you might forget when you go away (towels, shampoo, condiments, cleaning products etc) She also provided bread, milk and a bottle of wine on arrival- lovely touches.
The location of the apartment is excellent, especially if you want to be able to ditch the car whilst you're away. On the same street you have takeaways, chemist, bakery, butchers, chip shop (best fish and chips I've had for years!) newsagent, mini supermarket etc.
We visited 4 different pubs, all within a 5 to 10 minute walk of the apartment. We would particularly recommend The Anchor on Hadfield Road, which had karaoke on Friday night and a singer on Saturday night.
If you like cycling, the Longdendale trail starts about 2 minutes from your door. This is a trail that follows the path of a disused railway line. It is approximately 6.5 miles in each direction with lovely views of the reservoirs and moorland.
We chose to go further afield for walking, but I believe there are walks you can do straight from your door.
If you're staying for longer there are plenty more things to do and places to visit nearby.
All in all, I would definitely recommend this apartment (the apartment itself and the location) and would go back there myself. We had a great weekend. Thanks.

“Could not have asked for more” We had a wonderful weekend at Hollybank with three generations of the family celebrating an 80th birthday. The house is very well equipped with high quality furnishings, bedding, kitchen equipment, etc. It was spotlessly clean on arrival, warm and comfortable and with a wonderful welcome pack.
Ron and Jo could not have been friendlier and more helpful - down to the birthday card and chocs for Mum!

“Excellent base for White Peaks” We stayed a week in this lovely cottage. It's got excellent facilities and is a perfect base for setting out to explore the White Peaks. It's cosy (the bed is comfy) and the kitchen and bathroom facilities are exemplary. I'd recommend to a friend but not an elderly one. The trek from the nearest parking spot is uphill (steep) and about 100 yards away - and the stairs are quite narrow & steep too. If you're fittish it's no bother. We'd never used the key-safe facility before and made the mistake of dropping the key back thru the letter-box (please don't do this!). Overall, a lovely cottage within a beautiful location.
“Excellent - was better than expected” We arrived at Cliff House and was blown away with how lovely it was - the views were amazing and made even better by the snow.
The house suited all our needs, with ages 3 - 50 everyone was catered for and enjoyed every minute. We enjoyed it that much we didn't want to leave. The Stables Bar just 2 minute walk was lovely and the owner "Keith" was very accommodating and we all ate there one night, food was lovely.
It is our first break away over new year and we will definitely be booking with Peak Venues again and coming back to Cliff House. When we first made the initial enquiry all the way through they have been fantastic.

“Lovely comfortable and well equipped cottage, ideally located close to the Peak District” A lovely cottage, dog friendly and comfortably furnished. Everything provided that we needed including a well stocked and equipped kitchen. The welcome hamper was very much appreciated after a long journey, even dog blankets were provided!
Ideal location, just off the Peak District and we did very little travelling as there was plenty to see and do locally. Matlock and the Heights of Abraham, and the White Peak were the highlights.
“Fabulous accommodation” The property is in a village community with shops and pubs easily available. The owners live adjacent to the rental property and are very helpful and obliging. The property itself is excellent with a lovely indoor pool which children would love. The property is very well equipped and the grounds very well kept and there is a Bar-b-Q area.
Would highly recommend.

“Easy to get to yet a great place to get away” Felton Brook Cottage is an ideal getaway location in Derbyshire and the owners are very welcoming whilst remaining unobtrusive. The property is ideal for families, for meeting up with friends or relatives from other parts of the country or just for countryside lovers and they are also pet-friendly.
