“comfortable and welcoming, excellent location for touring”

Reviewed 27 Jun 2017

A lovely welcome from Rosie who made sure we were ok throughout our stay. A comfortable place to rest our weary selves after each day visiting castles, stately homes and mills and tramway museums. Frequently visited also by the chickens, cats and dog.

“Great holiday cottage, in a great location.”

This was a very comfortable stay with the cottage set in a great location. The cottage had all to offer, owners were very friendly and great value for money. We really enjoyed our stay and will use again when returning soon.

“Lovely cosy cottage in a perfect central location”

Reviewed 1 Sep 2014

The Old Coach House is a lovely cottage, ideal base for the whole of the Peak District. My husband really appreciated that all the days out were about 30 minutes or less drive for him so he managed to relax. We are a family of 5 and comfortably stayed there for a week. The beds are really comfy which is a rare thing in old holiday cottages. Everything you need for a self catering holiday. We had a lovely warm welcome from Rosie, and met a few of her family who are equally lovely. We were even entertained by the cattle, wandering sheep and a cheeky kestrel that kept looking in the bedroom window!! If you are looking for a rustic holiday cottage with plenty of charm and character then The Old Coach House is perfect. Thank you Nigel

“Family Fun”

Reviewed 17 Aug 2014

What a lovely welcoming cottage perfect for our family holiday. Our children (6&4) had a great time and played with all the toys and rode their bikes in the yard which was safe, the adjacent playing area/garden was a lovely place for the children to play. The children thoroughly enjoyed collecting fresh eggs from the chickens and the family who live on the farm made us so welcome especially Rosie who made the holiday special. A fantastic family friendly place in a lovely setting and a great base to explore lots of place - Matlock, Bakewell and Ashbourne. We will definitely be back. :-)

“A gem of a cottage in a perfect spot!”

Reviewed 30 Jul 2014

A fantastic fortnight all round! The cottage is well-equipped with plenty of space inside and out for sitting and relaxing. The location was perfect for getting out and exploring the area - very peaceful and quite remote but with easy access to main routes. Friendly and accommodating hosts, who supplied fabulous fresh eggs. I would definitely return!
