“An amazing place - highly recommend a stay” This has been converted to a very high standard. Very spacious and well equipped accommodation. Owner is extremely friendly and nothing is too much trouble (although nothing was needed during our stay). Nice local walks and local amenities for our stay. Lovely location . We celebrated a special birthday and anniversary with a party of 10 staying at the Barn and was more than ample space for everyone. Will be back for another stay. Thank you had an amazing break.
Have already recommended to other people needing a larger property to stay in.
“great space, served its purpose” Great space, lots of bathrooms, big kitchen, big dining room, big lounge, nice bar area-all well kitted out, nice hot tub and outside area, nice views.
Some areas are a little dated but generally clean and tidy.
Could have benefitted from being able to turn the heating down ourselves.
Cooking sunday dinner we did trip the electric but the owners were available on the phone to help immediately.
“Beutiful” The cottage has everything that we needed for a break away. It was clean and the beds were comfortable. The cottage is situated in stunning scenery and set right on a cycle/walking track into a gorgeous forest. The owner of the house was cheerful and helpful. It was excellent value for money and we will be returning.
“Great getaway place” Really lovely cottage, clean, fully equipped with everything you need to get away from the city life. Be sure to try out the steam room, and the local pub Barley Mow for great food and atmosphere. Best to spend at least a week as the surrounding villages offer so much to see and do. Oh, and the kitchen is a dream come true for anyone who loves cooking! Definitely recommend!!
“Gorgeous” A lovely short break for us and our dog. Beautiful property and surrounding area with helpful hosts.
We loved everything about our stay except the snow!! We would definitely recommend the Cruck Barn and wouldn’t hesitate to book again ourselves too.
“Super accommodation” The place was homely and welcoming with a gratefully received pack inc wine. It serviced 6 ladies very well having two bathrooms and adequate seating both dining and lounging. The hill climb would not be good for disadvantaged or unfit but parking outside could eliminate the climb. The next door neighbour was a dream too. A brilliant holiday let for groups and families. Thank you
“short break...” Thank you Sharon for a fantastic 2 night break at the Hay Den... So comfy and spotlessly clean with views to die for... we couldn't ask for a nicer host in Sharon... "the cakes were so good" if you want a perfect getaway this is the place... thanks again Sharon...
“Orchard cottage, Tansley” We rented Orchard cottage for a long weekend to catch up with family and celebrate my mums birthday. It is in a beautiful rural setting but with lots to do for all the family. The cottage itself is very spacious and very comfortable. Home from home with a well stocked kitchen and lovely dining area, there was nothing we missed having. We visited Matlock farm (5 mins drive away) and the Tramway museum in Crich (15 mins away) both of which were a great day out. Matlock is 5 mins drive away and there ate plenty of shops and restaurants there. I would really recommend this as a place to stay for anyone with or without children, ideally located for biking or walking breaks and plenty to do for families.
“Lovely cottage” This is a lovely cottage in a great location, remote yet only a 5min walk to the local family friendly pub. The cottage is just the right size for a family of 4. It's only a short drive from a number of off road cycle route, carsington water, Chatsworth house and local towns. We'll be visiting again.

We booked to stay here over Christmas and all I can say is it was BEAUTIFUL and the pictures do not do it justice at all. The views, the finish on the cottage, the absolute quiet tranquility of it was amazing! We heard owls, spotted sheep, cows and an array of animals in nearby fields. The view from the ground floor is spectacular however from the main bedroom it really is something else.
The shower and bath were fantastic and the kitchen very well equipped, also benefitted from freesat in every room and also...underfloor heating. The underfloor heating was immense and I’m now already looking at getting it put in at home!
All in all the cottage is amazing and I would love to go back and actually spend a few nights with a book just enjoying it and enjoying the local area.
The cottage has been very well converted and is a lovely use of space. We will definitely be back! …
Glamping pods at Hoe Grange
Probably a great location - had we actually visited.
Do NOT book through Holiday Lettings if you are likely to make any mistake.
I had mistakenly thought that the pod had both double bed and sofa but turned out that it only had a sofa bed.
The owners were only too willing to cancel 60 minutes after I booked but it had to be done through Holiday Lettings whose booking conditions state that any cancellations within 60 days of arrival mean no refund!!
Book direct with the owners - can often be identified from a search on the net. Happy New Year! …
