“Beautiful luxury property in ideal location” My husband and I recently spent 3 nights at Pegges Almhouse Cottage to celebrate my birthday and enjoyed everything about our stay. The property was even nicer in reality than the photos showed. We were greeted by wine and biscuits on the kitchen table as a lovely welcome. The property was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated and attention to detail fantastic. Beautiful crisp white bedding on the comfy bed and we were provided with lovely white fluffy towels, it was like being in a top class hotel. The cottage is situated within a 5 minute walk from the centre of Ashbourne so a lovely base to pop out in the evenings for food and a drink without having to worry about driving. But also a great location for many local walks and the start of the Tissington Trail. Loads to do and see in the wider area and we cant wait to return to explore this beautiful part of the countryside a little more. Thanks to Maria and Ian for a fantastic short break away. “Beautiful, well equipped, comfortable and a cut above the norm for self catering accomodation.” Swallows Cottage is a superb property. It oozes style and comfort from the moment you walk in. It is beautifully furnished, very clean and well equipped. Bedding and towels are all high quality and so clean and plentiful. We were lucky enough to stay in 30 degree sunshine so the pool was brilliant. The pool, like the cottage is clean and well kept. The surrounding gardens are immaculate and very pretty. The owners Izzy and Simon were very welcoming and despite the fact that their home is next door it did not feel instrusive at all. Our children ( 11and 7) loved the place and did not want to leave. I agree that it is unsuitable for really young children as I think you would be anxious about them making a mess of the lovely furniture, carpets etc and there is a pond in the gardens. It provides a base for a really relaxing holiday and we will definately be back.
“Great break for larger groups!” We had a fab time at Orchard Barn & Anvil Cottage, the number of bedrooms and layout suited us well. It was great to have everyone around the table at mealtimes and the decked areas are great little sun traps :) great location for lots of days out. Would recommend!

The perfect get away
Me and my fiancé wanted to have a relaxed get away and this was perfect. Clean, comfortable, has everything we needed from the kitchen, loved how they provided games and mindful colouring books in the living room. We went for nice long walks through the village and a quick trip to stepping stones which was lovely. Definitely recommend this lovely gem for anyone looking to have a relaxed comfortable get away. Local shops, supermarkets and restaurants very close too.
(Apologies for not being able to write in the guest book in the house)

Yew Tree Cottage - cosy, charming, original stone cottage in Fenny Bentley.
Lovely cosy cottage
Beautifully maintained cottage with all you need. A perfect base for walking without need for the car to Tissington, Dovedale and beyond. Nice pub with good food just 5 mins walk away. Top tip: Take torches of some kind as the walk to the pub is along a very dark but busy road. …
