“Lovely cosy winter weekend break”

Reviewed 18 Dec 2017

A perfect place for a weekend away surrounded by beautiful tranquil surroundings. The cottage was cosy, clean and everything was thought of. Michele came to greet us which added a lovely personal touch. I would definitely recommend this cottage.

Owner's reply: Thanks for your lovely comments. It's even nicer in the summer, so you'll have to come back ha ha

“Beautiful Cottage in a lovely village”

Reviewed 30 Oct 2017

Such a beautiful cottage, it had everything you could want and more, Michele was very friendly when we arrived and had left milk, tea, coffee and biscuits for us which was great, the village is very nice, close to the Peak District, and the local pub is lovely. I would highly recommend this property.

Owner's reply: Thanks guys. Glad you had a good time. See you next time ? Regards Michele

“A quiet country cottage not to be missed!”

Reviewed 1 Sep 2017

A real pleasure to stay in such a clean, brightly decorated and welcoming cottage. Holly Cottage will not disappoint. What you see in the photos is exactly what you will get, unlike some properties that promise a lot then don't live up to expectations on arrival. A big thank you to Michele the owner for her welcome, nothing was too much trouble for her to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. There is car parking right outside the door, there are numerous country walks available virtually from the cottage door, the surrounding countryside has rolling hills and is very beautiful, the village is very peaceful and to top it all off there is a local pub serving meals within 4 minutes walk if you need it. We can fully recommend this property, you can bet we will be back again for another break here sometime soon.

Owner's reply: Hi Colin & Denise. It's really heartening to know that we are getting it right. We try our best to make everything perfect at Holly Cottage - if only we could order the weather! Would love to welcome you back whenever you like. Best regards.

“Perfect!”

Reviewed 10 Aug 2017

The cottage is a beauty. Cosy, comfortable and spotless as well as a great base. Michele has an eye for detail and was very welcoming. Sadly we had to return to reality today. Ellastone is a lovely little village and close to everything we wanted to see. All within a short drive. There is a pub in the village called the Duncombe Arms but we had a meal in Middle Mayfield about 4mins drive away at the Rose and Crown which we would recommend. We also did one of the walks from Ellastone. A big thanks to Michele for providing a smashing holiday rental.

Owner's reply: Thanks Audrey & Danny. So pleased that you had a great time at Holly Cottage. We try hard to make everyone's stay as pleasant as possible and so it's heartening to know that you like what we do. Kind regards and welcome back ant time. Michele

Great location which was ideal for all local places,(Ilam Park was beautiful)the cottage was fitted out with everything needed for a relaxed stay,to a very high standard,a big plus was the under floor heating, bliss after a hard days walking.(even the dog liked this feature)The owner Michelle was very welcoming and explained everything to us about the cottage, would recommend this in an instant.

Owner's reply: Thanks for your positive review. Glad the dog liked having a warm tummy. Hope to see you again soon.

“Excellent accomodation”

Reviewed 14 May 2017

Excellent standard of accomodation, everything provided that you needed. Also tea, coffee, milk and chocolate biscuits on arrival. Piping hot water and a very comfortable bed. Very central to visit lots of places in and around Derbyshire. Recommend The Rose and Crown at Middle Mayfield for superb evening meals.

Owner's reply: Pleased that everything was up to scratch Helen. Hope to see you again soon. Regards Michele

“Lovely cottage, quiet location”

We spent 4 nights in this lovely little cottage. It's like home from home and has everything you could possibly need. Great location for visiting Ashbourne, Buxton etc. And lots of lovely areas to walk. Would highly recommend.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your review. It's heartening to know that you had everything you needed and that you enjoyed your stay. Would love to welcome you back soon.

“Beautiful cottage set in the Derbyshire Dales”

Reviewed 1 Feb 2017

We had a lovely time in this quaint cottage, hiding away from the hussle and bussle of life. The cottage was immaculate and had a lovely feel of old versus new. This was just what the doctor ordered for a romantic couple of days away. Charming area with lovely walks and local pubs.

Owner's reply: Glad you had a good time. See you again soon

“Beautiful cottage”

Reviewed 8 Oct 2016

Had a wonderful time. Cottage was cosy and immaculate with everything you need for two! Great location for walks. Did some beautiful walks during our stay. Local pub was close by. Visited for drinks but didn't eat. It's supposed to be very good but you need to book. They weren't hugely accommodating if you hadn't and wouldn't even let you order bar food (despite having a bar food menu) to eat outside at lunch. A little stuffy and little flexibility which was a shame. All in all a lovely stay and would highly recommend. Make sure if you enjoy walking you look up the best walks. It is definitely worth planning.

Owner's reply: Hi Nikki & Paul. Pleased that you liked the cottage, and enjoyed your stay. Thanks for leaving the walking routes you explored for future guests to enjoy - very thoughtful. Sorry that the pub weren't helpful, which is very unusual; they are normally very accommodating. Leave them a Trip Advisor review ;-)
