Beautiful idyllic retreat. Great location. Stayed for 4 nights in absolute bliss peace and quiet. The cottage was immaculate. Beautiful cottage, beautiful surroundings, everything was really lovley. Very relaxing place. Lots of walks and interesting places, we went to Dovedale whilst here to the famous stepping stones. Can’t recommend this lovley cottage enough, and the owner is equally lovley.

Owner's reply: Thanks Tegan. So pleased you enjoyed your stay. Cone back soon xxx

“Simply perfect”

Perfect doesn’t do our stay justice. We staid in holly cottage with our westie pup and we all enjoyed our stay. The cottage was perfect and had everything you could need for a trip away, fully equipped kitchen made evening meals stress free. The heavy snow fall over the weekend meant we got explore such a lovely location and enjoy the cosy feel of the cottage. Can’t wait to come back

Owner's reply: So please that the snow didn't spoil your visit. Welcome back anytime. regards Michele

“Beautiful Cottage in a lovely village”

Reviewed 30 Oct 2017

Such a beautiful cottage, it had everything you could want and more, Michele was very friendly when we arrived and had left milk, tea, coffee and biscuits for us which was great, the village is very nice, close to the Peak District, and the local pub is lovely. I would highly recommend this property.

Owner's reply: Thanks guys. Glad you had a good time. See you next time ? Regards Michele

“A quiet country cottage not to be missed!”

Reviewed 1 Sep 2017

A real pleasure to stay in such a clean, brightly decorated and welcoming cottage. Holly Cottage will not disappoint. What you see in the photos is exactly what you will get, unlike some properties that promise a lot then don't live up to expectations on arrival. A big thank you to Michele the owner for her welcome, nothing was too much trouble for her to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. There is car parking right outside the door, there are numerous country walks available virtually from the cottage door, the surrounding countryside has rolling hills and is very beautiful, the village is very peaceful and to top it all off there is a local pub serving meals within 4 minutes walk if you need it. We can fully recommend this property, you can bet we will be back again for another break here sometime soon.

Owner's reply: Hi Colin & Denise. It's really heartening to know that we are getting it right. We try our best to make everything perfect at Holly Cottage - if only we could order the weather! Would love to welcome you back whenever you like. Best regards.

“Perfect!”

Reviewed 10 Aug 2017

The cottage is a beauty. Cosy, comfortable and spotless as well as a great base. Michele has an eye for detail and was very welcoming. Sadly we had to return to reality today. Ellastone is a lovely little village and close to everything we wanted to see. All within a short drive. There is a pub in the village called the Duncombe Arms but we had a meal in Middle Mayfield about 4mins drive away at the Rose and Crown which we would recommend. We also did one of the walks from Ellastone. A big thanks to Michele for providing a smashing holiday rental.

Owner's reply: Thanks Audrey & Danny. So pleased that you had a great time at Holly Cottage. We try hard to make everyone's stay as pleasant as possible and so it's heartening to know that you like what we do. Kind regards and welcome back ant time. Michele

Excellent standard of accomodation, everything provided that you needed. Also tea, coffee, milk and chocolate biscuits on arrival. Piping hot water and a very comfortable bed. Very central to visit lots of places in and around Derbyshire. Recommend The Rose and Crown at Middle Mayfield for superb evening meals.
