Family Friendly Holidays in Derbyshire - Holiday Lettings
“Total Relaxation in a beautiful cottage, in beautiful, peaceful location.” This is a gorgeous cottage, extremely comfortable and thoughtfully furnished.
The use of owners swimming pool is a big bonus. Owners are very welcoming and helpful.
There are some very good places to eat within a short drive.
A very good area for walking and cycling.
Would most definitely recommend.
“Mrs” We had a lovely stay for our Family Wedding. Excellent location for exploring Buxton. The house was lovely - welcome pack included tea, coffee and milk - a welcome bonus when we had travelled so far that day. The house was stocked with plenty of towels and kitchen utensils including plenty of cleaning products. Would recommend to anyone wanting a Home from Home base for exploring Buxton.
“Ideal for an extended family celebration” Really enjoyed our stay, especially the hot tub.
The home made cake and milk supplied by the owners was a very nice touch.
We (the whole family of 13) would strongly recommend this house especially for a celebration.
The Wood Family
“Hen do - Amazing” The house is amazing!
We went there on a hen do and the house was great.
Large kitchen with everyhing you need.
Hot tub = perfect!
Could not want for anything else!!!!
“Gorgeous little cottage in a lovely friendly town” I Booked Matchbox cottage for a 3 day break with my 22 year old daughter to simply chill out. Cottage was cute and quirky with everything we needed and was a great place to relax in. It was clean, comfortable and cosy, reasonably priced and we absolutely loved our time there. Booking was easy and the owner provided information I requested within a very short space of my asking along with offering flexibility with our arrival and departure times as we were travelling by train. The local transport is excellent and we found it very simple to visit the area this way. The town has plenty of places to eat and drink and has its own deli, bakery and local store. We got everything we needed from these and it was so nice not to see a big supermarket taking over another self sufficient town. Wirksworth is a lovely, friendly and happy place, the cottage was just lovely and we cant think of anything we didn't like.
“Lovely farm cottage away from it all” Lovely upgraded cottage which was comfortable & with a well fitted out kitchen ideal for a couple with 2 children. Friendly landlady meets and greets...very impressed. Matlock only 3 miles away with plenty to see and do.
Looking forward to returning soon.
“Lovely, homely apartment” A lovely apartment, very close to town centre, very homely feel about the place. Bedrooms were very comfortable and the whole flat was very spacious. Kitchen has everything you need, Wi-Fi excellent.
On the whole a fantastic wee place, would stay again and highly recommend!
“Perfect!!!” Everything about our stay was perfect. The location was close to Matlock but far enough to ensure that our stay was peaceful. The local pub was very friendly and the food was very good. The cottage has a really nice layout and is perfect for couples planning to spend a few days in the Peak District. The owner of the cottage is very friendly and happy to help you.
I will definitely be staying at The Old Creamery again in the near future.
“Fabulous house for big groups/families” We were a groupie of 17 adults and a one year old. We were there for my 60 th birthday, we all had an amazing time, the house was spotlessly clean, each and every one of our group could not find any fault. We also booked the hot tub at last minute, so glad we had, it was great, some one was always in it.
The bedrooms were all lovely and again spotless. We hope to be back.
“Cosy, restful and peaceful” Study Barn Farm is a lovely converted barn in the centre of Bonsall Village. It is nicely decorated, very well equipped and easily accommodates 12 people. All in all a lovely cosy place with a lovely atmosphere, the big windows and open aspect made it very airy. The heating was fab which added to the cosiness. All the bedrooms were nice even though only one has an en-suite and the other 2 bathroom are shared.
Practically there is not much work space in the kitchen but we weren't really that bothered as its manageable. It's well stocked with equipment and gadgets.
Booking the barn was really easy and Jayne the owner was very responsive and informative.
Just a few little niggles, the radiator in the main bedroom is really noisy. the downstairs shower by the front entrance couldn't be regulated so the mixer needs checking, and the lounge TV could do with being bigger.
So nothing to complain about at all and would recommend to anyone as I'm sure the owners will take those on board.
The Fountain tea-room across the way, lovely breakfast reasonably priced, nice modern and welcoming.
The Kings head pub, great atmosphere, fab food, fun environment, with live music on Saturday nights and Sunday is quiz night (bit hard for us numpties) The landlady is lovely.
The Barlow Mow, a really quirky pub full of character well worth a visit.
Both pubs a 5 minute walk.
Nice walks into Matlock Bath where there is plenty to do and see.
We rented for an army reunion and will definitely think about going there again.
