“Quiet and Tranquil but close to everywhere.” Had a fantastic time staying at the Swallows. The hosts are very helpful and friendly and could not do enough to help. Being close to the reservoir reserve made for some nice family walks. The cottage was spacious, clean and warm with all the amenities required to undertake most household tasks. Enjoyed our stay so much we will return on our next trip to the UK.
“Lovely spacious apartment.” We had a perfect stay in Pam's apartment. The apartment is in a perfect location beside shops, pubs and restaurants with the added bonus of a parking space included. It is like home from home really clean and everything you may need is provided. Pam's apartment is perfect base for exploring the Peak District - to be recommended.
“Welcoming family at Fernyford Farm” Impressive cottage, surrounded by restored stone buildings and walls. The cottage is finished to a very high standard, I loved the interior finish of oak staircase and dining furniture.
Neil and Dorota friendly and welcoming, many opportunities to chat despite their busy life and Barney preparing his sheep for a Show.
We were fortunate to have wam summer weather and we were able to sit outdoors in the Patio area in the evening.
The cottage is spotlessly clean and very well equiped for self catering.
Their farm meat is available for sale. We cooked some delicious venison sausages from their freezer.
We travelled in the District each day of our stay, country lanes a treat for New Zealanders, hedgerows, stone walls and historic buildings. Excellent and

“Loved this place - big kitchen/dining room you can sit and talk in, warm, very comfortable” Very comfortable house, great for groups or large family - even gives you choice of where to spend the evening - if you want to sit round the table(which is huge) after a meal, - or to retire to the living room -which is also spacious. The area is quiet, slept well.

“perfect rural retreat designed with families in mind” We went there for a week with our 3 1/2 year old and were joined later in the week by another family with a baby and a 3 year old......really well laid out and cosy cottage, space for all of us and really high quality decoration throughout. Loved the hot tub, even in the mist but generally had a Fab week of October weather with amazing views......:-)

“Perfect Place to Stay and Explore the Peak District” I stayed in this beautiful townhouse last summer with my 3 kids, 10, 9 and 2 years old. The place was spacious, clean and modern and everything felt like brand new. Owners were very welcoming and helpful. Its a step away from the center yet it was in a very quite street. Kids loved playing outside in the private courtyard. Buxton was really a perfect base to tour the peak district. The property was very close to the park, and to a small supermarket and to bus stops, we didn't need a car at all. there are frequent busses to Bakewell and many other attractions in the area. There is also a weekly bus to Chatsworth House. I highly recommend this place specially for families!

“Top marks, would definitely stay here again!” We came to Castle Hill House for a family holiday, there were 25 of us altogether and the house was big enough to accommodate us all, but plenty of room if we wanted our own space too. The lounge and dining room fit us all in comfortably so we could all be together. The bedrooms were beautiful. When we arrived at the house it felt like we were the first to ever stay there, and all the rooms smelt gorgeous which was a nice bonus! The garden was big enough for the kids to play in and the swings and slide kept them busy all week, and it was nice to know they were quite safe as the garden is walled with a secure gate. The only small downside is the house is right next to a grave yard and there was sadly a funeral the week we were there. It wouldn't put me off going again but obviously you have to be mindful of noise levels outside so not to be disrespectful, (we brought the kids in so we didn't disrupt the service). Other than that, lovely surroundings, it was nice waking up hearing the birds (and the peacock!!). We sadly didn't get to go into the actual castle as it was closed due the time of year, but if you can go in summer the castle looks worth a visit. Tutbury itself is a really sweet little village and we found the people to be very very friendly. A few nice gift shops and some great pubs. A bit of a walk to the village and then a hike back up the hill to the house, but worth it. We really enjoyed our stay and were sad to leave. Thanks for everything Castle Hill House!

“Just Right for Us” We stayed as a family group, eight adults, 3 small children and one baby. Very quiet location - did not notice any of the small amount of passing traffic. The house and cottage were well equipped in all respects and suited us well. Kitchen on the small side, but more importantly for us there was ample refrigeration space for a weekend's supply of food and drinks. Very good value. Thank you.

“well equipped and very comfortable” no shortage of space and equipment. Ideal for groups of friends, families etc to get together under one roof.
Very comfortable and in a great area to explore. Car not always needed as lots to do in the Buxton area.

“The best staycation we've had!” We've had a brilliant holiday staying at Little Lhasas Retreat in Derbyshire. On arrival we were welcomed by the owner who made us feel instantly relaxed after a long journey. The property is beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean and we settled in instantly. Debbie was extremely helpful. We hadn't visited Derbyshire before and so her advise and help was very much appreciated. As a family with young teenagers we wanted an action packed holiday to tire them out and we got it! They were quiet as lambs in the evenings!! The property is ideally located for all that the area offers. we were to go canoeing in Matlock and horse riding just outside in Darley Dale. Carsington Water in a great place to spend the day, with it's huge water expanse all sorts of water activities are on offer. We chose however to hire bikes and spent the day cycling.
The local pub is warm and welcoming and we spent most evenings enjoying meals there. All in all, we all agreed it was our best holiday in this country - thank you Debbie
