“Perfect!!!” Everything about our stay was perfect. The location was close to Matlock but far enough to ensure that our stay was peaceful. The local pub was very friendly and the food was very good. The cottage has a really nice layout and is perfect for couples planning to spend a few days in the Peak District. The owner of the cottage is very friendly and happy to help you. I will definitely be staying at The Old Creamery again in the near future.

“Cosy, restful and peaceful” Study Barn Farm is a lovely converted barn in the centre of Bonsall Village. It is nicely decorated, very well equipped and easily accommodates 12 people. All in all a lovely cosy place with a lovely atmosphere, the big windows and open aspect made it very airy. The heating was fab which added to the cosiness. All the bedrooms were nice even though only one has an en-suite and the other 2 bathroom are shared. Practically there is not much work space in the kitchen but we weren't really that bothered as its manageable. It's well stocked with equipment and gadgets. Booking the barn was really easy and Jayne the owner was very responsive and informative. Just a few little niggles, the radiator in the main bedroom is really noisy. the downstairs shower by the front entrance couldn't be regulated so the mixer needs checking, and the lounge TV could do with being bigger. So nothing to complain about at all and would recommend to anyone as I'm sure the owners will take those on board. Nearby: The Fountain tea-room across the way, lovely breakfast reasonably priced, nice modern and welcoming. The Kings head pub, great atmosphere, fab food, fun environment, with live music on Saturday nights and Sunday is quiz night (bit hard for us numpties) The landlady is lovely. The Barlow Mow, a really quirky pub full of character well worth a visit. Both pubs a 5 minute walk. Nice walks into Matlock Bath where there is plenty to do and see. We rented for an army reunion and will definitely think about going there again.

“Fine time at Friths Cottage” Lovely cosy well equipped little cottage, that is situated very near all required ammenities - pubs, supermarket, restaurants, newsagents & even tourist information. It is just off the market square though you would never guess that as it has a wonderful quiet seclusion with a nice patio garden. We had some lovely days out as ashbourne is well situated for many interesting outings,we visited Heights of abraham in Matlock,Alton Towers & Sheffield. When the weather was not so good,we had cosy evenings in with the tv & stereo, just a shame we couldn't have sat out in the garden more.Would definately book again.

“A beautiful hidden gem” My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights. Wish it could have been longer. The Lodge was lovely, clean, tidy and spacious. Wonderful views. It was a treat to come back to at the end of the day. Chatsworth and Haddon Hall are all close by and worth a visit.. The owners have created a lovely place to stay and we cannot wait to come back again.

“Fabulous house for big groups/families” We were a groupie of 17 adults and a one year old. We were there for my 60 th birthday, we all had an amazing time, the house was spotlessly clean, each and every one of our group could not find any fault. We also booked the hot tub at last minute, so glad we had, it was great, some one was always in it. The bedrooms were all lovely and again spotless. We hope to be back.

“Great value weekend retreat” We arrived on Friday and were greeted by the owners, Wendy and Andrew who showed us round and gave us some advice on places to go. And they'd baked chocolate brownies which was a nice touch. And fresh flowers too. They'd also emailed prior to us setting off to give directions and to ask what kind of milk we wanted. Fire was there ready to be lit and it REALLY heats the place up. There's a small TV with built-in DVD player and a decent choice of DVDs too. We went for a weekend of walking and there was a great selection of books and maps in the property with lots of walks in them. There's also a slow cooker so handy for cooking your food while out walking. Only slight gripe was that there wasn't a potato masher or colander (not that we could find anyway). It has a good shower and quite a big bath too. Very close to the town centre and a steep walk downhill. The 2 nights we went into the town centre we got taxis back and they only cost £2.80 (or £3.86 if you bump into a stranger in town who's going kinda the same way, but he kindly gives you £2.80 anyway making the cost only £1.06). If you like folk music (or just music in general) I highly recommend the Labour club on a Friday and the last Sunday of the month, where they have music sessions. Just take your instrument and join in. Apparently the folk train (Google it!) also comes to Glossop once a month and it's worth going to the Labour club for that too, whenever it is. Anyway, the Cowshed comes highly recommended. I nearly booked a place just outside Glossop but so glad I didn't and decided to actually stay in the town because you're right on the edge of the countryside anyway. Thanks again to Wendy and Andrew, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

“Absolutely superb!” Superb location, with great views of carsington water & within easy travelling distance of the whole of the Peak District, ideal for walking, cycling, watersports and sightseeing but the cottage & surrounding farm is so relaxing that you won't want to leave. Tip: after a full days walking & not wanting to leave the cottage, I ordered a fantastic Indian takeaway for the grand at Belper using the just eat app on my phone

“Brilliant hosts, great apartment!” I would recommend this to anyone! Many of the other reviews talk about everything this apartment has to offer and it did not disappoint. Sandra was very flexible allowing us to store out bikes in her shed and letting us check out late on our final day as she did not have another booked. A lovely couple, a great apartment and a brilliant holiday. I am sorry we didn't get to speak to you before we left, but thank you so much Sandra - it's just what we needed!
