“Amazing little cottage” We loved our stay, the cottage is brilliant, the shower is amazing and an added bonus there's a dishwasher! It's also in a fantastic location, walking distance to the town and a sainsburys. The Tissington Trail is just outside your door, and just further up is where you can hire bikes, I can't wait to go back!

“Total Relaxation in a beautiful cottage, in beautiful, peaceful location.” This is a gorgeous cottage, extremely comfortable and thoughtfully furnished. The use of owners swimming pool is a big bonus. Owners are very welcoming and helpful. There are some very good places to eat within a short drive. A very good area for walking and cycling. Would most definitely recommend.

“Excellent Character Cottage” Milk Maid's Cottage is a delightful character cottage in Kniveton, The location is ideal for walking in the Peak District and the local area, which was the aim of our weekend break. Liam, the owner was welcoming and most helpful. We found the cottage to be very clean and comfortable, with a large dining kitchen (all amenities provided) and a cosy spacious lounge with two 2-seater sofas and a separate armchair. Upstairs are two bedrooms, one double and one with twin beds, and a well equipped bathroom with bath and overhead shower. Copious hot water was available for the whole of our stay. So important after a hard days walking. This was undoubtedly the best accommodation we have enjoyed whilst holidaying in the UK. Our stay was fairly early into the period after the easing of coronavirus restrictions for self catering properties. Liam had every angle covered as regards protocols in place at the cottage, and we were reassured by his exact and careful preparations for our holiday. Our first meal out after the lockdown was enjoyed at The Red Lion in Kniveton. We booked in advance and we were pleased by how effectively the pub operated to conform with the government guidelines. A full menu was on offer, and our food and the service was excellent. It was so good to be back in the "pub", always an important part of our holiday. Many thanks to Hannah, Kev and Gav. A great weekend proving that a staycation can be best !! Andrew and Belinda

Holiday barn in Bonsall

Bonsall barn

6 bedrooms / 3 bathrooms / sleeps 12

“Cosy, restful and peaceful” Study Barn Farm is a lovely converted barn in the centre of Bonsall Village. It is nicely decorated, very well equipped and easily accommodates 12 people. All in all a lovely cosy place with a lovely atmosphere, the big windows and open aspect made it very airy. The heating was fab which added to the cosiness. All the bedrooms were nice even though only one has an en-suite and the other 2 bathroom are shared. Practically there is not much work space in the kitchen but we weren't really that bothered as its manageable. It's well stocked with equipment and gadgets. Booking the barn was really easy and Jayne the owner was very responsive and informative. Just a few little niggles, the radiator in the main bedroom is really noisy. the downstairs shower by the front entrance couldn't be regulated so the mixer needs checking, and the lounge TV could do with being bigger. So nothing to complain about at all and would recommend to anyone as I'm sure the owners will take those on board. Nearby: The Fountain tea-room across the way, lovely breakfast reasonably priced, nice modern and welcoming. The Kings head pub, great atmosphere, fab food, fun environment, with live music on Saturday nights and Sunday is quiz night (bit hard for us numpties) The landlady is lovely. The Barlow Mow, a really quirky pub full of character well worth a visit. Both pubs a 5 minute walk. Nice walks into Matlock Bath where there is plenty to do and see. We rented for an army reunion and will definitely think about going there again.

“Perfect!!!” Everything about our stay was perfect. The location was close to Matlock but far enough to ensure that our stay was peaceful. The local pub was very friendly and the food was very good. The cottage has a really nice layout and is perfect for couples planning to spend a few days in the Peak District. The owner of the cottage is very friendly and happy to help you. I will definitely be staying at The Old Creamery again in the near future.

Derbyshire holidays

This huge rolling area in the East Midlands is a truly beautiful example of the English rural countryside, where you’ll find a wide variety of plant and animal life, and different terrains. It’s the perfect place for hikers and those who love to explore the great outdoors. Book a holiday rental in the Peak District, Derbyshire and start experiencing nature.

About Peak District, Derbyshire

Phenomenally picturesque, the Peak District is not named for its mountains (as it doesn't have any), but for an ancient tribe that was believed to have resided in the area.

The landscape can be considered to split into two geologically contrasting areas; there's the White Peak with its limestone dales, famed for its rare flora, including orchids and Jacob's Ladder; and the Dark Peak, where the hills are higher and there's lots of heather, bogs and moorland.

What to Do

Kids will love Gulliver's Kingdom, a charming little theme park in amazing surroundings.

Top Peak District, Derbyshire Travel Tips

Be aware of your abilities when hiking and use common sense. Don't go alone and make sure someone knows what route you're taking. Whilst there are several excellent Mountain Rescue Teams if you do get into real difficulties, try to take every measure to stay safe out there and not need them!

For an amazingly beautiful hiking holiday in a vast and picturesque region, be sure to book your next holiday rental in the Peak District, Derbyshire.

The Cruck Barn
Welcome Home from Home Retreat

From the first contact with Mary the owner everything has be easy. We needed a temporary place to stay whilst our house purchase went through ( in line with Covid rules). Arrived quite late to fresh scones and a bottle of bubbly, so thoughtful as was my birthday. The cottage has everything you need and more. Maps, dishwasher, plenty of pots , tv, milk on arrival, chess board in garden, soft towels.......Modern kitchen and bathroom, all super clean. We even had place to store our bikes so could take advantage of the rolling hills near the cottage. Secure parking for 2 cars and fresh laid eggs just across the road. Very peaceful location but only 10 minutes away from Matlock which has everything you need. Great log burner and balcony to take in the views. Would not hesitate to recommend.see more

From the moment we enquired about booking Wendy and Andrew were superb and responded instantly. Lovely location as can walk into Glossop. We will visit again . Thank you Wendy and Andrewsee more
