“Delightful Cottage in Great Location” My wife and I stayed in this cottage for several nights in October. We loved it. It is nicely decorated, was fresh and clean, the kitchen had everything we needed for cooking and the location is very convenient to everything in the Lake District. It is in a very quiet, peaceful location. The big, deep jacuzzi was great. We would definitely recommend it for a romantic getaway.

“Perfection” Woodside is in a perfect location for the Lakes - Windermere, Coniston, Grasmere and more. The owners clearly take pride in keeping the cottage in immaculate condition and with excellent facilities including Wifi, a good TV and DVD player, a dog guard to stop the dogs straying upstairs and a phone. The garden was ideal for us with two dogs - enclosed and you could sit listening to a babbling brook. We were supplied by the owners with really useful notes on the area - shopping, walks, things to see and visit and how to get the best from the cottage. We wanted for nothing and enjoyed the area and then settling down in the cosy lounge exhausted. So many nice things in the area and we are seasoned Lakes visitors! The lakeside terrace of the Lakeside Hotel with a glass of wine (and a beer!)... open to non-residents until 5pm. Ducks, lapping of the lake, occasional boats and sheer relaxation. Early morning walks with the dogs at Fell Foot (just round on the other side of the lake) - great for walking dogs, next to the lake and the River Leven. If you want a bit of life then Bowness has lots of cafes, restaurants, shops and boats for hire. We are vegan and enjoyed bruschetta at the Lakeside Hotel, a fabulous choice at the Lancrigg hotel near Grasmere, caters only for veggies but a bit pricey, Tapas and Thai curry in Bowness. 10/10 to the Owners who telephoned on the first evening to check we were happy - we were! Thank you.

“Great location, Excellent cottage” Had a lovely long weekend with a group of walking friends here. Spacious accommodation equipped with everything required for a group. We stayed on a typical wet November weekend but really enjoyed coming back from a day out to this homely cottage.

“Luxurious Comfort - Whatever the weather!” We stayed at the Smithy House from 5th August 2011 for a week. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great but this didn't matter too much as we had a beautiful home to stay in. Everything has been very carefully thought about for your stay. Quite often when you stay in a rental property there lots of things missing - particularly in the kitchen. This certainly NOT the case in this lovely property as everything provided is really good quality and all the little extras are there such as toast racks, butter dishes etc, etc. The house is ideally located to be explore the northern lakes and is close to Ullswater and Penrith. It is easily accessible from the M6 - although not too close! We would highly recommend this house to anyone thinking of having a break in the Lake District.

“Views you will not forget.!” Tucked away outside Amble side, amazing location. Views from the front and the back are magnificent. Inside the cottage is everything you could need. Very warm cottage, great shower, all equipment is of a high standard. A fantastic base to explore the Lakes.

“Excellent cottage, beautiful location. Truly relaxing break” My fourth visit to Barnhaven cottage. We spent another lovely week in this relaxing village. Love the cottage and the village pub. Great local walks and close to Kendal for shopping and always something going on at Brewery Arts Centre for an evening out. Spacious cottage with lovely large garden with garden furniture for sunny evenings.

“Mrs” Beautiful Hall..lovely grounds..peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The room had everything we needed for a birthday break for three nights stay in total calm and tranquillity. “Perfect location, with amazing scenery and pubs within walking distance” Comfortable, homely accommodation, set in an historic barn conversion made a lovely peaceful base from which to explore the beautiful Lake District. The cottage was equipped with everything we would need and was always lovely and warm. We found, Greg the owner, to be very friendly, and knowledgeable about local attractions and the vast number of Walks from the doorstep and the wider area. The village itself is surrounded by beautiful scenery with 2 good pubs on your doorstep and several others within a short drive. A visit to the 500 year old Watermill just over the bridge is essential.

“Great remote location” If you want somewhere quiet this is a really good location. Three pubs (one good two excellent) in walking distance so we didn't use the self-catering facilities at all... We have stayed in these cottages 3 times now. Well apointed, clean and comfortable. Graet garden. Good location for walking or climbing either from the cottage, from the steam railway or with a short car drive. If you want shops etc it's not for you.

“Great Location” We stayed at Whillan Beck cottage for the last week in July 2011. We’re really fussy about the cleanliness of holiday accommodation, so were really pleased with the excellent standard we found at Whillan Beck, it was very clean and well maintained. The cottage is small but well laid out and ideal for two people. It’s located towards the end of a no through road so there is no noise from passing traffic. There are occasional visitors on foot to the small watermill at the other side of the bridge and walkers heading towards Wasdale which is some five miles away over Eskdale moor. If you’ve had a long day on the fells and don’t fancy preparing dinner, there are two pubs within five minutes walk of the cottage that do meals. If the sun is shining there’s and enclosed lawned area to the rear of the cottage with seating, add a good book, the sound of the near by beck and a glass of wine perhaps and it makes for a pleasant relaxing afternoon/evening. On our next visit to the Eskdale area we will definitely be looking to stay here again.

“Home away from home” I loved it at Widewath barn. It was comfortable and relaxed with a very friendly family running it. It is close to popular tourist sites and has a lovely view. The owners were extremely helpful and always happy to help. They were also happy to give us a tour of the farm. The barn was clean, tidy and beautiful with a welcome pack full of advise, booklets, guidelines and tips on the area. Will definitely be recommending this rental to friends and family. Hoping to go back ourselves for our next Lake District holiday!
