Description

Stay in an exclusive waterside lodge in the Derbyshire countryside in one of the country’s premier inland marinas, Mercia Marina, in Willington. Relax on the deck and watch the narrowboats come and go, enjoy the abundance of local wildlife, the canalside walks, the Derbyshire Dales, and all the facilities of the marina, as well as the shops and restaurants on site overlooking the water.

Enjoy a `home from home’ feel in Hazel Lodge. Just three years old it offers luxury accommodation for a weekend or longer. The spacious lounge with its rustic highland theme sits beside a modern well-appointed kitchen-diner. French windows lead on to the extensive 2.4 metre balcony overlooking the marina and its many boats and wildlife. An ideal spot to relax in the evening as the sun goes down.

The two generous bedrooms feature an en-suite, king-size double with good storage space and TV. The second bedroom has two comfortable John Lewis single beds, served by a second family bathroom, where as well as a shower, you can enjoy a soak in its steel bath.

We are the only lodge at present to offer free WiFi but we would ask for it to be used respectfully. It is supplied by the marina, via various masts, and is not lightning fast, but OK for email, social media and web browsing.

A small library of games and DVD’s is on hand for those odd rainy afternoons. A large Smart TV, a recordable DVD player and a Bluetooth-enabled music system can be found in the lounge area.

Hazel Lodge has everything you need for a five-star holiday break in the Derbyshire countryside in a unique, tranquil setting.

Interaction with guest

We will give you a name and number to ring on arrival at the marina. As the marina is gated we will come and collect you, we will give you a key and fob for you to use while you are our guest. We do ask that you check in between 3pm and 9pm. And that if possible you tell us roughly when you plan to arrive. If you intend to arrive outside these times or if you are delayed we ask that you let us know.

“Stunning Place”

Patrica and Rodger where very welcoming, Hazel lodge is just so beautiful. Peaceful location, great for a relaxing few days away. We even had a lovely bottle of wine upon arrival which was a lovely touch. The lodge itself is spotless. The bed was so comfy nice luxurious bedding. We really couldn’t fault this place and we will be coming back again. Thank you so much

The lodge was beautiful with lots of thought given by the owners to ensure we had everything we needed. Amenities on site at the Boardwalk were great, with good food and very welcoming to us and our dog. Locals were very friendly from the canal boats too, it is a lovely community. Nice walks from site, down the canal. We stopped off at The Dragon for drinks, alongside the canal which again was very welcoming to us and our dog. A fabulous few days away, thank you Roger & Pat!

How do damage deposits work?
