This end terrace cottage sits in a quiet street in the centre of the town, just yards from the picturesque canal basin with its colourful boats. The canal towpath runs by, offering miles of easy walking surrounded by the Peak District countryside. Set over three floors, the front entry to the property is on the middle floor where there is a modern lounge with a cosy wood burning stove. Downstairs the dining kitchen with access via a barn door to the paved rear patio with garden furniture, whilst upstairs are the two comfy bedrooms and toilet. Close to the beautiful Goyt Valley, one of the Peak District's undiscovered gems, this is an area of spectacular high moorland and interesting market towns. The choice of walks is endless and quiet lanes and moorland tracks offer a good choice for cyclists too. It's a short drive to the historic market towns of Chapel-en-le-Frith and the spa town of Buxton with its splendid Opera House and Crescent. Nearby Castleton offers a choice of underground caves to visit, and the National Trust's impressive estate at Lyme Park shouldn't be missed. In the other direction Manchester is easy to reach from Whaley Bridge station (5 minutes walk from the cottage), making this an ideal location to combine exploring the Peak District with some city shopping. “Cosy cottage in great location”

This was our first visit to the Peak District and we found Whaley Bridge (and Honeysuckle Cottage) to be the perfect location to explore the area. Close to Manchester (train ride of only 45 min from Whaley Bridge to Manchester Piccadilly) and to all the sights in the Peak Disctrict (Castleton, Lyme Park, Bakewell, Chatsworth House). The cottage is very cosy and well equipped (the only suggestion would be a hairdryer and muesli bowls). The layout is quite unsual but works perfectly. There is a parking space next to the cottage, but it is too small if you have got a big car. There is a free car park 20 meters away. We always found a free parking space, but it does get packed during the week. There are plenty of restaurants nearby (our favourite was "Baileys" just accross the road) and there is both a Co-op and Tesco within walking distance. The owner John responded immediately and solved our problems with WiFi and the hot water boiler in no time - highly appreciated! The wine and chocolate were a very thoughtful welcome present. We would definitely love to come back!

“Nice cottage”

We liked the cottage, found it was very equipped with everything you needed. It was central to lots of places to visit. There were lots of places to walk. Only downside for us was as it was hot we slept with window open, so constant sound of people walking by to the car park and the sound of traffic. So didn't sleep very well. Also the smell of the chip shop when you had windows open was not the best. But well worth the money to use as a base to explore surrounding area.

The location was very good for exploring the area. Nice touch having wine, chocolate and milk, Presentation off the property was quite grubby, bordering on dirty. Crumbs on worktop and around fire on entering - not a good introduction to a place you have paid to stay. Washing machine smelled very bad when opened. Didn't want to put any clothes in it.

“Wonderful Peak District Location”

We stayed for a week in Primrose Cottage in March. We have family who live in the area and we were able to meet up with them several times. Super cottage, very welcoming & goodies pack great. Did some lovely walks when the weather was kind (which it was for half the time ! ). Great pubs and so convenient to the shops. The buses went everywhere & they had wonderful views. Great holiday. We've had a lovely stay the area was ideal everything on your doorstep. The property was comfortable and clean, the welcome gifts were greatly appreciated. Unfortunately we woke to snow on the last day and set off home early, and didn't have time to write in the guest book. Would definitely recommend this area and property.

Honestly the best trip I have ever had in England! The location is incredible there's so much to do especially if you have a dog the possibilities of adventures are endless and the cottage is perfect we couldn't of asked for better. It's the perfect combination of being around the countryside and still having little shops for necessities and even a chip shop around the corner! Will be booking again definitely!! “Lovely cosy cottage with everything we needed for holiday”

Communication from owners was clear and prompt. We have 4 dogs and they arranged a stair gate for us on request and the wine and chocolate was a nice welcome. Cottage was perfect with a lovely wood burner, all we needed in the kitchen, an extremely comfy bed and lots of hot water for long baths after a walk. The town had all the amenities and there were some lovely walks along the canal. The surrounding area was stunning and we visited Alderley Edge and Lyme Park several times for excellent dog walks. Just a great holiday.
