From the owner

In the heart of the beautiful Derbyshire Dales and on the edge of the Peak District, Owslow Farm is a working organic beef and lamb farm and the cottage offers a combination of traditional features and modern accommodation. The property is approximately 400 years old and stands in its 400 acres. It is very welcoming and boasts exposed stone and beams, and fabulous countryside views.

To the front of the cottage, your party can enjoy a luxurious and inviting hot tub overlooking Carsington Reservoir ensuring guests will be delighted with their stay. However, we do restrict hot tub use to the hours of 09:00-22:00 as we want to respect our neighbours so if you’re thinking of ‘all night’ hot tub parties with lots of loud music, I’m afraid this cottage is not the place for you!

A beautiful blooming enclosed courtyard of trailing colourful flowers and pot plants, comfortable rattan furniture and coffee table for your enjoyment and relaxation at the back of the cottage.

We have 7 gorgeous Alpaca boys. They will be available for you to enjoy an ‘Alpaca Walking Experience’ as an optional extra. Pre-booking highly recommended!!

There are many facilities on the farm that can be enjoyed by the whole family, making this a fantastic property for a holiday in this area. We lamb our sheep during March and April - children are most welcome to help bottle feed lambs and calves under adult supervision, on request. We do ask that dogs are kept on a lead when walking the fields around this time of year. We are extremely dog friendly but do ask for a small charge of £20.00 to accommodate up to 3 dogs. We also have a range of animals such as alpacas, lamas, free-range hens, ducks, geese, dogs and cats.

We live in the main farmhouse which adjoins the cottage, and are there if needed, but try to keep a low profile and not intrude on your holiday. We are extremely family friendly as we have a young family ourselves, and have additional equipment i.e. stairgate, travel cot, booster seat are available for use on request. Also children are more than welcome to use the trampoline, slide and sit-on tractors under adult supervision.

Everything will be clean, warm and welcoming for your arrival including linen, robes and towels, and cosy beds (single beds have memory foam mattress toppers for more comfort and luxury).

We hope that your stay at Owslow Cottage will be as enjoyable as possible.

Lovely location, great spacious accommodation although shower a bit small. Lots of little extras which made our stay more comfortable. Would definitely return to this traditional country cottage.
