Comfortable, peaceful and easy to get out and about.
We stayed for a week at the Quillett on Bodrugan Barton Farm about a mile from Mevagissey, Car essential for this accommodation. The peace and quiet was brilliant, The living area opens out to a patio overlooking fields. There are swallows swooping around the eaves of the nearby buildings. The indoor swimming pool is jjust next door. This is not an ultra modern property with high end furniture and fittings and so on but that's not what we were looking for - it is comfortable and clean and ideal for walks, trips out or just plain chilling out. Lost Gardens of Heligan just a few minutes drive. Within half an hour or so you can drive to Truro, Newquay and other attractions. We enjoyed Healeys Cyder Farm, definitely worth a visit.
The owner is very pleasant and on hand if you need anything but doesn't intrude. Just a lovely place to be, away from the noise of urban life.
Can't really say there was anything I didn't like except the few metres of unmade access road immediately outside the main entrance to the farm which had a lot of stone chips and some pot holes which need to be negotiated carefully but I can't say this was a major issue at all. …
EXCELLENT PROPERTY AND PEACEFUL, RELAXING LOCATION.
Wonderful, peaceful location surrounded by fields but within walking distance to the sea. We stayed in Blossom Barn with two bedrooms, one being ensuite. The property has been converted to a very high standard and was very comfortable and well equipped with all essentials for a holiday break. The only downside we found was that there is not enough storage space in the bedrooms. They would benefit from both hanging space and drawer space, as at the moment there is only a wardrobe in one bedroom and a chest of drawers in the other.
The owners Vicky and Nathan were on hand if required, but unobtrusive. An essential food welcome pack was provided and the homemade chocolate brownies were incredibly moorish and very welcome after a long car journey.
There are plenty of eating places in Mevagissey and we recommend the Salamander restaurant for freshly cooked fish and meat dishes, with friendly staff.
Overall we had a wonderful time in an incredibly beautiful part of Cornwall and would highly recommend staying at Penwarne Manor Barns. …
Gorgeous get away
We loved our trip to Mevagissey, its such a beautiful area and the town itself is lovely. The snug was a wonderful place to stay, modern and with all the comforts we could have wanted - including a delicious welcome package which included local cheese, wine, bread, eggs, meat and a home made cake!! Fantastic holiday, we will be returning and recommending the snug to friends! …
The Picture Window
Top notch accommodation.
We spent a week in the Picture Window and I have to say it is probably the best accommodation we have stayed in. Set in a quiet valley minutes from the gorgeous Portmellon bay the Picture Window really is an amazing place to stay. The first floor is open plan with a huge well equipped kitchen, dining area and lounge. Downstairs are the bedrooms one with on-suite. There has been no expense spared with the furniture and fittings - everything is of high quality and spec. The wood burner in the lounge is beautiful as is the walk in shower in the master bedroom on-suite. Vicky and Nathan the owners really have thought of everything in order to make your stay as relaxing as possible. The welcome pack which includes bread, milk, eggs, bacon, sausages, jam, chutney, wine, sea salt crackers and homemade brownies is a thoughtful touch. We will definitely be back one day. …
The South Barn
Gorgeous cottage in stunning location
We enjoyed a long weekend at South Barn over Easter - the accommodation was perfect, beautifully decorated and fully equipt with everything you could need. Welcome hamper with homemade brownies was a lovely touch. It's perfect for families as the garden is full of lots of toys and a trampoline to keep the kids amused. The location is gorgeous - Mevagissey is a charming village with lots of lovely shops, pubs and restaurants and is walking distance. I would have no hesitation on recommending this cottage to anyone - we were very sad to leave and can't wait to come back for another visit soon. Many thanks to our lovely hosts Vicky and Nathan. …
