Set on the beautiful, unspoilt south Cornish coast in the grounds of Penwarne Manor is a collection of lovingly converted barns available to let. Five, Grade II listed stone cottages, each one sympathetically renovated in 2011 to an extremely high standard with all the modern amenities you would expect, whilst retaining the charm of a C18th century building.
Privately owned, Penwarne Manor nestles in the Portmellon valley with stunning views over the hamlet of Portmellon and the sea. Its idyllic, rural location is less than a mile from Mevagissey. The properties standalone in a tranquil setting offering a complete break from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Self-catering holiday accommodation is available all year round.
Penwarne Manor provides seclusion without isolation and the perfect spot for your holiday. Whether it's just the two of you, a family or you're a group of families holidaying together we offer something for everyone. It's high spec but in a relaxed and simple set-up, so those with small children need not worry.
The South Barn has 3 bedrooms, 2 with double beds, and the other with two single beds. There is also plenty of room for a cot. There is also a family bathroom and separate wet room with drench shower.
Penwarne Manor is flanked by beautiful woods, beaches, country lanes and coastal paths. The nearest beach is Portmellon, a family friendly cove which provides a safe environment for swimmers. It also has a local pub.
The village of Mevagissey is a 10 minute walk away. Featuring numerous shops and cafes. It is also one of the few working harbours in this part of Cornwall.
Within a 10 minute drive are Gorran Haven (another family friendly beach with some amenities and toilets), Hemmick Beach (beautiful and unspoilt) Vault (a bit more remote) and Caerhays Beach (also with some amenities and toilets).
For those who want to venture further afield there is the Roseland peninsula, an area of outstanding natural beauty.Other places to visit within an hour are St. Mawes, Padstow, Newquay, Wadebridge, Falmouth, Truro and Watergate Bay. We're ideally situated for exploring both the North and South coasts, each with something different to offer.
The Eden Project is nearby, around a 20 minute drive away. The Lost Gardens of Helligan (including the excellent Lobbs Farm Shop which sells a wide range of local, organic produce) is only a 10 minute drive away.

"Gorgeous cottage in stunning location"
We enjoyed a long weekend at South Barn over Easter - the accommodation was perfect, beautifully decorated and fully equipt with everything you could need. Welcome hamper with homemade brownies was a lovely touch. It's perfect for families as the garden is full of lots of toys and a trampoline to keep the kids amused. The location is gorgeous - Mevagissey is a charming village with lots of lovely shops, pubs and restaurants and is walking distance. I would have no hesitation on recommending this cottage to anyone - we were very sad to leave and can't wait to come back for another visit soon. Many thanks to our lovely hosts Vicky and Nathan.

"We didn't want to leave!"
We had a great time staying at The South Barn. The accommodation was very comfortable and so nicely renovated. We had everything we needed and the homemade cake and selection of local treats we found on arrival went down very well with everyone. The location could not have been more perfect, with the feeling of being remote but a nice walk/short drive to Mevagissey or Portmellon. Ideal holiday rental for parties with children, we were two families each with a toddler and a baby and could not have had a better time. Thank you again for a wonderful holiday.

"Fabulous, luxurious, amazing, outstanding!"
We stayed at South Barn for Christmas and had the most amazing time! Located in a beautiful setting with breath taking views of Portmellon the Barn was filled with luxury. The attention to detail and warm welcome we received was outstanding! Loved the local delicacies and freshly baked mince pies ;-) We will definitely be returning!! We read a previous review with regards to no door on one of the bedrooms.....there is now!

"Fabulous accommodation in a beautiful location"
My partner and I stayed here for 3 days in October with 2 other couples and had a fantastic time. The barn is really well located, just 10 minutes from the main centre of Mevagissey (very small, but with lovely shops, good food and beautiful views to be seen) and the barn itself is really beautiful. We were welcomed with a selection of food and wine from local shops, as well as a full list of recommendations of things to do/see around the area. The bedrooms are a good size, there are 2 very clean, spacious bathrooms, including a wet room, and everything was extremely clean and tidy on our arrival. My only minor criticism is that one of the bedrooms doesn't have a door (which isn't ideal for privacy!) but aside from that, we really couldn't have been happier staying here.
Thank you for your feedback, it is very much appreciated. Since your stay we've added a door to that third bedroom, to ensure privacy in the future.
