“A unique experience for any non camper who still appreciates a little luxury!” As a family we had never camped before, never mind stayed in a Yurt, so for us this turned out to be a wonderful experience which we all greatly enjoyed and made the most of our few days Glamping. Our host and owner Andrew met us on arrival and showed us to our Yurt - he is a great chap who has a clear passion for looking after his clients, not to mention for the Yurts and associated facilities which he has impressively built up in the last couple of years. The size and standard of our Yurt was second to none, much nicer than we thought and with the wood burning fire which we started inside the Yurt was soon cosy and warm,,,,,beds are very comfortable and the solar powered lighting added to to the ambiance inside the Yurt. Outside we loved the fire pit and each evening cooked outside which our kids loved - soon forgetting about not having an wifi access!! This proved to be such a nice thing for all of us having no access to emails, social media and games etc, a rare break from the continual intrusion we have in our lives from the modern world. A smart new block close to the Yurts contained a bathroom each and a shared kitchen which was perfect, this building blended really well into the surrounds and was perfectly located for all, facilities all new an din good order. We particularly enjoyed a 15 minute walk down to the most stunnng beach where one could walk for miles if they wanted to, scenery was amazing and the sunsets were out of this world - we took some beers and nibbles down and had our own sun downers taking in the views. All in all it was a fabulous few days, Arran itself is a beautiful island and well worth visiting, amazing beaches, lots of walks and some interesting places to visit like Arran Aromatocs, the brewery, the distillery and creamery. Ferry crossings with Cal Mac are fantastic and we recommend extending your stay with a crossing from Lochranza on Arran over to Kintyre where the scenery is as stunning, head up to Tarbert and then onto Loch Fyne. Thanks again Andrew - you and Pippa have a superb set up and we'll definitely be visiting again! The Hulmston family.
