“Great spacious flat in central location” We were two people staying for a week attending a business conference in Amsterdam. The apartment was perfect for us - it is five minutes away from Central Station or Nieuemarket Metros. Although central, the neighborhood is residential so quite and not as rammed as the nearby tourist areas. There are many nice local bars, cafes and restaurants nearby. The apartment matches the pictures and description - it has two good bedrooms, a small terrace and a very spacious and well appointed sitting room and kitchen.
Arjen, the host, was brilliant. A really friendly guy who took the time to take us on a quick tour of the area, and he and his wife took the time to give us numerous recommendations.
Strongly recommend and I would stay again
“Great place in a brilliant location would return tomorrow” We just loved this former Merchants House, which was homely and offered every facility you could want. It was a great place to return to after walking around Amsterdam all day. The kitchen is has every appliance, including a great coffee machine. The bathroom is luxurious. The beds very comfortable and the first floor lounge a great space to sit and read or look out on the constant changing character of the adjoining canal.
The location is absolutely brilliant being only a couple of hundred m from the Westerkek with its wonderful carillon. Do climb the tower. All the major Museums and galleries are within easy walking distance and it was a constant joy to walk along and cross-cross the canals, taking extreme care to lookout for the bikes! It appears chaotic but all seems to work, as the bikers are not your Lycra clad boy racers, but anyone from 8 to 80 on sensible bikes riding at sensible speeds!!
Most of the Museums have had major refurbishments in recent years and cater brilliantly for children. The Amsterdam Museum, Maritime Museum, and Nemo, and Van Gough Museum were outstanding in this respect. There were local supermarkets which were great for self-catering, and a very good ice-cream shop for the after diner walk and desert. As you can gather we cannot recommend the house, its location or Amsterdam more highly.
“Perfect location to explore Amsterdam” I live in Spain but travel to Amsterdam quite often for business. This new apartment is located in a beautiful and quiet street, and at the same time very close to the Leidseplein, the beautiful canals, the museum district and the Vondelpark. Beautifully decorated and a friendly owner.
Rent a bike around the corner, or just take a walk through the area. You won't regret it!
“Beautiful, bigger then expected and so close to the centre” Es un apartamento muy bonito y con mucho espacio. Esta muy bien equipado, son gente muy simpatica i agradable. Lo recomiendo 100% . Muchas gracias.
We were really impressed with the apartment. I have visited Amsterdam a few times and this place was the best. Everything you could need is there. We eat out but the kitchen was well equipped if we had needed it. The place was very clean and tastefully fitted out. It was close to the centre (but we were lazy and we took Ubers 5-6 euro with the most expensive trip at night 13euro (they do have a lot of one way streets) , compared to regular taxi that took us in the first day for a 5 min drive 20euros), there is as well very good connections by public transport with tram and metro very close by (Farsan and Jolie did helped a lot with maps, tram and metro numbers and stops so if the weather is good we recommend taking the public transport or even better by bike) .
We've been recommended also some great place's to eat and drink (both touristic and for locals) and place's were to go for parties.
Many thanks to you both for a great stay although I wish it could have been longer.
PS:As a smoker the balcony was perfect.
Holland is a country at the heart of Europe. The canals and cobbled streets of Amsterdam attract many visitors every year. The city is a blend of old and new, and can be as lively or sedate as you want it to be. Out of the cities, the landscape of the Netherlands is best explored by bike – and prepare to see the tulip fields and windmills you were expecting.

Private Apartment & Sunny Terrace
Lovely apartment with great location
This apartment is very good value for the price. Very nicely decorated, two comfortably sized double rooms, very clean and the terrace is ideal.
The location is fantastic. Fairly quiet with lots of nice places to eat and drink nearby. There is a tram stop just 1 mins walk away, so getting around is easy.
We had a great time and would definitely use this apartment again. …
Urban Loft close to Central Station
Absolutely Perfect Apartment
Apartment is perfect for two. My boyfriend and I loved our stay there.
We spent 5 days in Amsterdam and Francois' apartment was as big of a highlight of the trip as Windmills in Zaanse Schans.
Loft is much bigger than it seems at the pictures which was a pleasant surprise.
Fully functional kitchen (no microwave but who likes radiated food anyway?!), lovely balcony, big living room and big bed. It's really modern too.
Small tip: Apartment is very bright and there are no blinds so if you like dark environment you'll need an eye mask.
Communication with Francois was outstanding. We had replies within half an hour of emails being sent, sometimes faster.
Just to give you rough idea: Central Station is 6 min walk away. Vondelpark 45 min walk away. Westerpark 18 min away. Red light district area (and Chinatown) 20 min walk away.
If you were not sure whether or not to book this apartment I hope my review helped you made up your mind as it's really no brainier!
We will definitely be back! …
The Metropolitan private apartment with garden
Great appartment, very nice host
The location of the apartment is fantastic: 7' walk from the main train station, many shops and restaurants etc. right "next-door" - at the same time absolutely calm and peaceful as the apartment faces a green and quite backyard. We felt very welcome, safe and comfortable. Marijn and her partner Sebastiaan are very friendly, helpful and easy to contact. The apartment was clean, the beds were comfortable, the shower was hot - what else can you ask for (except, maybe, for a freezer)? We would love to spend our next stay there again! …
Cozy and comfortable apartment in excellent location
The studio apartment on the street level is comfortable and located in a nice residential area close to great shops, restaurants, and museums. One can walk easily to various parts of the city from the apartment and is away from the "touristy" parts of Amsterdam. We felt quite at home and safe. Our hosts were very helpful and responsive to our needs. We highly recommend for couples or family with one or two small children. …
Catherine's stee apartment in village center near the North
Very friendly and welcoming hosts and a clean and comfortable house.
The accommodation is the front section of Nicos' and Jannys' house and while they are always on hand should you need something, they do not intrude. Guests have use of the front garden which is a great spot to watch the world go by (mostly on bicycles) and receive a friendly wave and a greeting from the locals.
Warmenhuizen is a fairly small village but boasts a very well stocked supermarket and a good selection of bars and restaurants.
If you're looking for a bit of peace and quiet but still within a short drive of larger cities, I would highly recommend Catharinas. …
Great location. Houseboat interior exactly as pictured - clean and good condition. Central location, yet not noisy. strongly recommend …
