“View Amsterdam from a better perspective!” I'm not too sure where to start, and I also don't want to give to much away as I don't want to give too much of this jewel of a place to stay in Amsterdam away.
I have been to Amsterdam a few times now, and by far this was definitely the best experience I have had over there, the owner of the apartment is VERY friendly and helped us with any problems we had, being with the apartment or just help in general with the locals (I can't speak the language).
Plenty of space, everything is the highest quality, and more freedom than you would usually get in an apartment or hotel in Amsterdam.
Try it for yourself, I promise you won't be disappointed.
“Spacious, stylish and in perfectly placed for exploring” Staying at this apartment, you feel as if you're in real Amsterdam. It's slightly off the tourist beat but most of the main attractions are within easy walking distance. The Captain's House is on two levels and attracted us because it has two 'proper' bedrooms. The owner's tour of the local area gave us our bearings and introduced us to some great places to shop, eat and drink.
Holland is a country at the heart of Europe. The canals and cobbled streets of Amsterdam attract many visitors every year. The city is a blend of old and new, and can be as lively or sedate as you want it to be. Out of the cities, the landscape of the Netherlands is best explored by bike – and prepare to see the tulip fields and windmills you were expecting.

Savina Zandvoort Beach Apartment
Very cool Town on the Netherlands Coast
Highly recommend this very clean apartment in excellent location! Minutes from the train station and minutes from quaint downtown Zandvoort and a short train ride to Haarlem and Amsterdam.
The apartment is perfect for the two of us great amenities and loved the king size bed. …
Spacious with roofterrace and near centre
The apartment is located about 25 minutes away from the city centre on Tram 2. It stops at the end of the road and is a scenic route through the suburbs of the city.
The apartment itself is lovely, 2 very decent sized bedrooms and a large living space (not that your planning to spend much time here I’m sure...)
My partner and I found the apartment exactly how it was described. Johan is very attentive and made us feel very welcome.
We obviously partook in ALL the activities Amsterdam provides, and luckily, if your not too keen on sitting in the cafes (listening to the voices) then the apartment has a fab little roof terrace equipt with a perfectly placed heater above the table and chairs, great for cards (we spent hours playing cards)
We were only here for 3 days so didn’t have much time to look around the area as we were keen to get into the centre and visit everything, so we didn’t manage to find a shop local to the apartment, but Johan very kindly leaves some breakfast items and bottles of water / milk in the fridge. If you use the beer or wine then you need to leave some money for it on the side. We didn’t use the tea/coffee facilities (my partner is a lactose intolerant so we couldn’t use the milk) but the apartment has its very own coffee machine and everything. It’s a great spot and perfectly located far enough away from the centre so you can escape the madness of the red light if you need to!
Price is very reasonable. All in all, a great shout for anyone heading to the Dam anytime soon!
Thank you Johan, we had a lovely time. I hope we’re welcome next time! See you soon. …
Idilic Place to stay
The hosts are amazing and attentive without being intrusive. We were situated on a beautiful stretch of the Pieterpad which is a long distance walking route in the Netherlands. The views from the property at different times of the day can be spectacular and although we were not fortunate enough to spot any deer there was plenty of wildlife around the lake.
Although I am attempting to learn Dutch our hosts were very fluent in English.
The area is made for sightseeing and although I travel there on business we will be returning here as often as possible from now on. …
