Switzerland Holiday Rentals - Apartments and Ski Chalets in Switzerland
Although Switzerland is famous for its mouthwatering Swiss chocolate, hand-carved cuckoo clocks and fine cheese, the country offers much more to its visitors. It's a major destination for world-class winter sports, incomparably beautiful landscapes and lots of historic charm. Choose a Swiss-style ski chalet in the Alps for an adventurous mountain getaway or stay in a downtown apartment to experience city-life in Switzerland. Staying in rentals throughout the country will keep your holiday affordable and flexible while travelling.
Getting around Switzerland
Landlocked in Central Europe, Switzerland is easily accessible via air and has three main airports: Zurich Airport, Geneva Cointrin International Airport and Bern Belp Airport. Towns within the country are also connected via the train system making it easy to go from place to place while enjoying scenic views as you travel. You can also opt to drive around the country or take a boat. No matter what mode of transportation you prefer, travel in Switzerland is stress-free.
Holiday rentals in Switzerland
Part of the experience of visiting Switzerland is living amongst the locals. Rent a place in the city centre that will put you at the heart of it all or book a rustic chalet to enjoy total privacy surrounded by nature. Wherever you choose, you'll save money splitting the cost of accommodations with a group, which can be helpful since Switzerland is known for being an expensive country. Booking a self-catering rental is also a great way to ensure that you can enjoy conveniences like a gourmet kitchen, mountainside hot tub, or beautiful fireplace.
Things to do in Switzerland
There is an endless array of things to do and many incredible attractions to see in Switzerland, but highlights include ascending the colossal Matterhorn via a funicular ride. The Matterhorn is world-famous and looms over the border of Switzerland and Italy. Explore the Swiss National Park in the Engadine where you'll find 80 kilometres of hiking trails and nature paths where a variety of wildlife can be observed along the way. Take a boat cruise around Lake Geneva. This lake offers peaceful experiences on the water and picturesque mountain views.
Browse local shops and museums in Zurich, the largest city in Switzerland and a major destination for contemporary art, where you'll find many museums, galleries, and shops for looking and buying. And if you love skiing, head to St. Moritz. Bundle up and enjoy world-class ski trails and must-see views in the surrounding mountains.

Wonderful, cosy, spacious chalet with fantastic views.
Great location on an elevated position above the village centre, with picture postcard views.chalet has everything you need, comfortable, clean and cosy. We enjoyed the 10-15 minute walk downhill into the village and having the option to get the bus back for free. Would definately love to visit again. Enjoyed the hiking and exploration of the area, plenty to see and do. Weather was a bonus, sunshine every day and pleasantly warm for Autumn. …
Shangri-La - 2 Bedrooms - Matterhorn View
We loved the Location and the View was amazing
We have just returned from Shangri-La. It is such a charming property. The pictures do not do it justice as it has the most wonderfully calming feeling as soon as you open the door. The location is perfect as it is only a 5 minute walk to the center of Zermatt and if you don't feel like walking you can always call an electric taxi. But the best bit was the view of the town and of the Matterhorn. I could have looked at it all day. I can highly recommend it. …
Drakes Drum Ski Penthouse Grimentz
Very cosy and convenient chalet in very close proximity to the slopes and main lift station
Excellent location and easy to ski in and ski out with a short 100m walk to main piste down to lift station. Good skiing in Grimentz and Zinal and well worth trip over to St Luc with free ski bus - ski pass covers all local areas although going over to St Luc from Grimentz / Zinal takes about 45 mins. Chalet very clean, well equipped and very comfortable. Excellent views over Grimentz. Owner left us some basic provisions which were well received. Local supermarket near to lift station (Coop) and opens until 7pm. Apres Ski is very limited and no night life beyond 9pm. However, the Alpina Restaurant was good and there is a great Creperie in Zinal (near the Zinal lift station). Skiing is steeper terrain in Grimentz but wider pistes in Zinal. Longer runs in St Luc. Ski and boot storage also available at the lift station at 30 chf per person for 6 days (5 chf per day) and only short 5 min walk from chalet to lift station / storage. Ski and boot storage also available at the chalet. …
Lovely cosy apartment in great location
The apartment was very well equipped with everything you needed for a week's stay. It was cosy and warm with a lovely sunny balcony.
It is very well placed directly at the La Tinte bus stop which is the first up from the Medran lifts. It is also not far to the drag lift at La Rouge. Shops and restaurants in the town centre are close by. Tony was always easy to contact and very helpful. A very enjoyable week - thank you. …

Luxury Apartment for Rent, Swiss Alps, La Soldanelle
We’ve been going to Château-d’Oex for our skiing holiday for a while now we use to stay in hotels until we found this apartment, it’s so much better value than the hotels we’ve stayed in, the facilities are top quality and great environment to have my holiday. The area has fantastic skiing and I been to a few, , though I recommend a car as the slopes are not all. Joined up.. I will be back.my family love it.
