“We will be back....” The farmhouse is in a peacefull location within easy reach of the local beaches. The Farmhouse has everything you need for a relaxing stay. Our boys who are aged 9 and 7 loved the pool and chose to stay in the room with their very own bathroom!!! It was great that when they needed to chill out,the dvd player and ps2 was at hand,as that gave us a chance to chill and read a book by the pool..If you are looking for a relaxing holiday with good local restuarants and fantastic beaches this is the place to stay...
“A Stunning Villa in a Perfect Location” The villa is absolutely stunning and was perfect for our requirements. The rooms are spacious and beautifully appointed and the garden, pool and patio areas idyllic. The local area was perfect, with two beautiful beaches, bars, restaurants and a small supermarket within walking distance. The old town and marina are only a 20 minute walk away and more excellent restaurants can be found in nearby Gale and Guia.
The owners did everything they could to ensure our stay was as enjoyable as possible. We will certainly be recommending Sobre o Mar to others and hope to return ourselves very soon.
“Chilled out stay” Just back from Casa Monte in Carvoeiro where I was on holiday with my parents, fiancee, brother and his wife and kids. We had an awesome holiday, helped by the weather but also the location of Casa Monte. We were able to walk two minutes to several restaurants which made last minute dinner plans easy and some of them had wi-fi that you could use during the day. Then went down into town a couple of nights and there are loads more places to eat & drink to choose from.
The kids, who are four, loved the pool and so did my brother because with it being totally enclosed he could relax a bit more. The villa is spotless with loads of open space and it was easy to get keys and check in and out.
We rented golf clubs from Clubs To Hire at the airport and also managed to play the new Faldo and O'Connor course just 20 mins away. The O'Connor course is brilliant and the Faldo course is very good, although there are 4 holes on the back nine which I wasn't sure about.
Carvoeiro is simple to get to, about 45 mins from airport, and I found it cheaper to eat and drink in than Villamoura and a welcome change to some of the stag and hen nights.
All in all, I think i'll be back.
“Lovely Villa! Owner was extremely helpful and obliging.” We had a short stay at the villa and loved every minute!
Jean the owner is really very helpful.
The villa was clean and well presented.
Located in the countryside, so whilst relaxing, all you can hear are the sounds of different birds and rustling trees (and the occasional sounds of traffic along the road).
Would love to return here in the future!
“Unique location and luxury” An amazing location with views second to none, and highest quality luxury accommodation. Masses of space and everything you could possibly want, both inside and outside. Equivalent to a 5* hotel, but with the bonus of self catering equipment to a very high standard. This villa provides a perfectly relaxed holiday, with easy access. There is a supermarket close by, great walks, and a short stroll to the local marina/hotel area with a selection of good restaurants. However, you may not want to stray far from the pool and the villa itself.
“Wonderful Holiday” We had a really enjoyable holiday in Villa Francesca in June 2011. The beautiful villa, the garden/pool and the tennis courts next door were all ideal for our group which included our adult children and small grandchildren. The owners were kind enough to put childproof fencing on the upstairs balcony and this, together with a gate for the stairs in the villa gave us great peace of mind during our holiday. We played some golf on the nearby courses and the charming village of Carvoiero with plenty of excellent restaurants was just a few kilometres away. We would heartily recommend Villa Francesca to any family group and we hope to stay there again in the future.
“Home from home” There was 4 of us who stayed here 2 couples in mid 20's..
We had a great time
This place was Amazing
It's nice an modern, done to living standards not jus holiday standards. It was so comfortable made our holiday so relaxing and had everything u cud possibly need. Absolutely spotless an plenty of space. The terrace was so big every room had an entrance to it an had fab views of the sea, beach an old town.
It was extra for linen an towel Change so we didnt bother because we had a washing machine so did all that ourselves. Wash on in the mornin an everything was dry wen we came bk from the beach.
The pool area was quite small so we went the beach everyday.
The beach an town was about 5 min walk down hill an 15 min up it was fine not too bad..
We enjoyed it
but wudnt recommend walking if u hav any walking difficulties, children or elderly people.
We got a cab sum nights cost bout €5.
Overall I wud recommend this place it was really fab a home from home.
“Nice Villa, good location” Charming Villa with a lot of good features like heated pool (Temp in Jan/Feb 29 C -after a good week of heating), A/C = heating, very nice sun roof, wi-fi, dishwasher, quiet (except dogs) and semi-rural location but close to Olhao ideal to explore the beautiful and not so touristy East Algarve.
Helpful managers (and owners).
Although the ground floor (incl. kitchen) and external aspects are showing it's age and can not really described as luxurious (rather rustic) it is good value for money and the owners have upgraded and modernized over time -still some work to be done.
All in all a very pleasant and relaxing holiday.
“Beautiful villa, not far from a picturesque sandy beach!” At first we were a little intimidated about the drive from the airport as we hadn’t driven in Portugal before, but there was actually nothing to worry about. Car pickup was easy and obvious (and discounted thanks to the Holiday Autos link on the jjvillas website). The drive was well signposted and pleasant, passing many lush golf resorts and the new motor racing circuit.
We had not rented a villa before as I usually like staying in a hotel with everything done for me. But I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to book & by how much I loved the privacy of your own villa. The villa itself is beautiful, maintained to a very high standard and well furnished. With the maid service and robes, it really was like being in a hotel, with the added bonus of space and convenience. We were surprised that the weather was so gorgeous in October, so having the air- con was fab. And coming home from a hot day in the sun to a lush swimming pool was fantastic! There is a large BBQ poolside, which meant that lazy evenings by the pool eating too much food was perfect. But if going out for dinner is your thing, then there are plenty to choose from along the beach all selling delicious fresh seafood.
We also picked up a flyer for a fab place called Zoo Marine wildlife park, where I managed to have my dream swim with dolphins. It's a great place and it wasn't far from the villa. On one of the many trips to the stunning harbour, we went on a boat ride where we spotted wild dolphins.
There is great opportunity for walking or mountain biking in the rugged landscape. And the coastline is some of the best in Europe for surfing and Kite surfing. Around the Atlantic corner area there are multiple water sports shops for rental of kit if you fancy surfing. I however chose to watch in the sun with a drink in my hand!
This was a perfect getaway for both the active and relaxing holiday. We shall be back!
“Lovely little house and great for a family” We stayed for a week in this cottage near Principe Real. The location is great for those who want to be able to walk around in old Lisbon. Its very near Bairro Alto and Rato is a bit further. Lots of eateries, everyone we tried was good. Some were very small and local but very welcoming and provided pleasant traditional Portuguese food. The pastries are second to none.
Justo welcomed us and gave us useful information about places to go and getting around and about. This was very helpful. The accommodation is well equipped and compact and we felt if anything was needed all we had to do was contact Justo.
My sons were very impressed with the marble flooring, the decorative tiling and chandeliers. It felt like a real break from our usual surroundings.
Bellem is worth a day out and also lots of good art museums in Lisbon. All the ones we visited had an English translation of the exhibit which was great.
Cobbled streets, golden sands, refreshing seas, fascinating history, idyllic landscapes and culture in buckets. A trip to Portugal is time well spent, whether you’re on a gastronomic tour of Lisbon, or escaping it all in the Algarve.
A Lifetime Of Landscapes
No two holidays to Portugal ever have to be the same. You can experience city life in the bustling capital of Lisbon, uncover the thriving cultural scene in Portugal’s second city, Porto, or opt for something different entirely: a countryside break in central Portugal, or a beach holiday on the Algarve. Whatever your preference, be it a stylish apartment or a spacious villa, Holiday Lettings has got you covered.
Time To Dine
When it comes to food, the Portuguese forte is cooking simple meals with flair. Thanks to Portugal’s close proximity to the coast, the seafood you’ll experience is beautifully fresh and the wine, courtesy of the Douro Valley, flows freely. But the culinary delights begin with breakfast, where freshly baked bread and cheese reign supreme. Just save some room for pastel de nata (a custard tart), Portugal’s staple delicacy.
A Tale Of Two Cities
Interested in Portugal’s renowned art, music and cultural scene? The cities of Lisbon and Porto are sure to deliver. The former is the country’s bustling capital and has perfect panoramas, sweeping hillsides and ancient ruins on tap. Porto, on the other hand, is fast making a name for itself as a charismatic culinary destination, where contemporary architecture houses film festivals and tasting sessions.

Falesia Beach Santa Maria 3 bedroom TownHouse (C)
Amazing property, exactly as advertised on website.
Great location, supermarket, selection of shops, restaurants and beach all within walking distance of the property. The property it's self was amazing, very clean and tidy, it was home away from home, everything you could possibly need, and some!. The air con in every room worked perfectly, there was plenty of towels to go around, and plenty of room in the house. The outside space was also amazing, in the morning time the sun hits the front of the property, so you have a choice of the 1st floor balcony or the ground floor area to enjoy your morning coffee, and in the afternoon you can sit at the back of the house where the sun shines until the evening time. Don't worry about getting up in the early hours of the morning to put your beach towels on the sunbeds at the pool - there is always plenty of space. Thank you to Victor and Michelle for helping to make our stay so enjoyable, they are right next door so if you need them, they are there, but we never needed to contact them as everything was fine, just the occasional good morning nod or evening wave. My family and I had a great time, and would love to go back.
Thanks so much again for letting us stay in your beautiful home. …
LOVELY HOUSE the best find
Warm hospitality at a lovely cottage in the heights of Biscoitos
Lovely spacious cottage, decorated with creative flair by Hugo, the very hospitable owner. In a beautiful setting on the slopes of Biscoitos. Lots of greenery around, and though there are other houses all around, it is very quiet. The natural volcanic swimming pools at Biscoitos are great. …
Garden Hill Luxury Old Town Esplanade apt with Pool, beach, balcony and wifi.
Stayed in the Garden Hill apartment last week of July as a family of 4. Apartment is modern, clean, has great air con and a nice balcony. Daughters (aged 18 and 20) shared the sofa bed and found it just fine. Plenty of free sun loungers round the pool area whatever time of day we arrived which made a welcome change. Location was perfect 2 minutes walk from old town but still relatively quiet. Owner and local management very pleasant to deal with. Would definitely recommend. …
Three Bedroom Apartment Located in Landscaped Gardens at Jardim da Meia Praia
Fantastic Family Friendly apartment and location
This was our second stay in this lovely apartment with our son and daughter (15 and 18). The apartment is a home from home and has have everything you would need and the bedrooms are a good size with comfortable beds. The pool area is very relaxing, surrounded by beautiful gardens and we always found sun beds.
Destinos has extended its food offer and has a Cocktail Happy hour. The week we were there they also had a BBQ night.
If you are happy to walk you can walk to Lagos beach from the apartment and we enjoyed evening beach walks. Lagos is a short drive by car and has lots of restaurants and activities including Dolphin watching and kayaking trips.
Its a fabulous location and apartment. Thank you again for a lovely stay.

A wonderfully relaxing holiday
We spent a week here in July 18. We’ve stayed in many villas all over Europe and this was without doubt the best! Everything is to a high standard from a choice of three terraces, a spacious living area (the kids were delighted to have Apple TV) and a beautiful shared pool. The owners were so accommodating and lovely to deal with, even providing a welcome pack with food supplies. We will definitely return! …
An excellent place to stay !
A beautifully located villa with a lovely pool ideal for kids ( 11 and 13) who can swim a bit and deep enough for adults. The villa is a short distance from the airport and we were met at the airport by the host which is a first. Beautiful beaches are 20 minutes away and Loule, which has 4 supermarkets at the last count, is 10-15 minutes drive. What stood out in the villa is that it has everything you could possibly want. …
